3 days left

Good morning Green Team!

Today is Thursday which means we have 3 days till weigh in for the challenge. The week is half over!! so get out there and move it!! :carrot:

Yesterday I did W8D2 of C25K and had myself a squat fest. It doesn't sound all that great but when I put shorts on in the spring I'll be listening for the cat calls! ;)

Spring may be five months away but I plan to great it with a smaller bum so let's hit the gym now!!

lobon 11-03-2011 09:46 AM

hey team! hope everyone is doing well at the halfway point for the week ;) i booked my spring cruise so that is definitely motivating me!

lop92 11-03-2011 11:20 AM

Hey everyone! :D

I actually will be off on Sunday and coming back Saturday, hope my week off wont mean a bad weigh in next Saturday :o Will try to eat right and go for walks as much as possible. Hope this week's weigh in goes well for us all :carrot:

Thinsole 11-03-2011 09:17 PM

Lobon- A cruise! What awesome motivation. Hopefully it's one to somewhere warm and not to Alaska!

Lop92- Have fun on your week off. You can keep losing even on vacation and there's a ton of body weight exercises that you can do. Check out http://extremebodyweightworkouts.com/.

Arm day is finished for me and it's time to hit the showers!

in order to get to know more about one another, anyone want to share their goals for the challenge? obviously we all want to lose weight and be healthier but I'm sure everyone has special goals they are aiming for...

My physical goals for the challenge are to get my 10k time under 1'15 (im a pretty slow jogger, a slogger ;) and to get as close to 155 lb as I can. By my birthday/cruise in the spring I would love to get back to 151ish which is where I was maintaining last fall after a 40lb weight loss.

Mentally/emotionally I want to try to understand how I gained back those 15-20 pounds in just 4 months and try to avoid repeating those patterns. I also want to make sure I'm still celebrating the things i HAVE accomplished, like maintaining a 20 lb weight loss for 2 years!

sacal96 11-04-2011 10:51 AM

Great idea lobon! My 2 main reasons for losing this weight are to better my health and self esteem. Since I've started exercising a lot this week I can already tell a huge difference in how much better I feel throughout the day after a good workout! And since I have gained about 20 pounds this year I had pretty much given up on myself. I quit styling my hair and wearing makeup on and wearing sweat pants all the time.. But now I'm finally getting ready in the mornings and buying some new nice clothes. I'm ready for the new me!

My goal in this challenge is just to steadily lose weight. I'm not going to really concentrate on an amount just yet.. I would just like to be losing as much as I can each week by staying on track.

lobon 11-04-2011 04:01 PM

im glad you're feeling better sacal! thats what this is all about.

thinsole- as far as im considered, if its not hot enough to sweat, its not a vacation ;)

Mainly, My goal is to just keep going.

I was on track for a year before and the hardest time for me was the fall. Not only did I have the holidays to contend with but I am usually effected by the weather. Cloudy days get me down sometimes and that makes it harder to eat right and exercise. I am much better after the new year. The new years resolutions get me going again and spring coming up quickly really inspires me. So I'm here to get the support I need to get to January.

Secondly, I bought some x-large snoopy Christmas t-shirts last year I would love to get into this year. I am currently in a 2x so, maybe another 15 lbs.

lop92 11-05-2011 06:53 AM

Thanks thinsole, I checked out the website, it had some great tips :)

My aim is to lose 6 pounds this month, I think its a realistic one I can achieve considering I won't be able to exercisie as much as I used to before (exams). I was also aiming to not gain any weight on my week off but, thanks to thinsole, I'm now aiming to acutally lose weight on my holiday :D

Also, just weighed in! I didn't eat so well yesterday so I suppose I could have done better, but I went to the gym and worked hard to make up for it so I'm happy I got a loss at all :)

Thinsole 11-05-2011 09:26 AM

Lop- A pound and a half! Way to go lady I think you are well on your way to your 6 pound goal!

Jeanettey- I'm with you on staling out over the holidays. I used to make excuses but the bottom line is I am an adult. If I want turkey and pumpkin pie I can have it on St. Patty's day if I so choose. Just because it's Thanksgiving I do not need to stuff my face. Besides it'll be nice to feel like a normal human being while the rest of my family is rolling around in turkey fatigue.

lobon- Lol. Idk, vacations can be sweaty just so long as there is a pool and AC nearby. The worst vacation I ever had was being down in Tennessee during a heat wave camping with NO Ac. Dripping sweat while just eating a sandwich...yuck! (Ew, I need to keep that memory up for when I get the munchies. It totally kills hunger!)

sacal96- It's crazy how fast your body responds to a little exercise isn't it? Within a few weeks I was in the shower wondering where that muscle or this muscle had come from. It's such a great motivator to see how your body is changing and it's a great confidence boost too. When I was at my heaviest I did the no make-up no styling thing. I didn't realize until later how down on myself I really was. I shiver to think of what life would still be like if I hadn't snapped out of the daze.

My goals for this challenge are to:
1. Get to Onderland (10.6 lbs to go).
2. Stay in Onderland (No getting in the gates and then being booted out)
3. Head toward 190 (Goal to hit that by V-day)

My big non-weight related goal coming up is to run a 5K. I'm headed out today to check out the course I might be running.

lobon 11-05-2011 04:22 PM

thinsole- i was about to ask you if you scheduled your first race yet. crossing a finish line is always memorable, but the first time is priceless! this is a great time for a turkey trot with less than two weeks of C25k to go.

lop- great work! starting the team off right...
