November Exercise Challenge
Let's make November the month of MOVEmber! We'll MOVE into the holiday season in great shape! Please join us on this month's exercise challenge thread.
State your exercise goals for the month of November here. They will be added to our goal list. When your goal is met, it gets turned RED in celebration! Track your progress all month long with a supportive and encouraging group to cheer you. I want to push things up a level. I was actually in better shape, in some ways, at 190 than I am now at goal weight because I had more of a mix in my exercise routine. So, two goals this month:
1300 minutes 8 workouts with the Wii or a DVD |
I'll join you. I have been working out everyday, but I know with the holidays, and family visiting this month, and the kids being off on school break will definately throw a wrench in my workout schedule. My goal for this month is
900 minutes of exercise to walk at least 90 miles this month. That is 30 minutes a day and 3 miles a day. If I stick to what I am doing now, I should make it or possibly do more. |
Hello everyone! I was a late joiner last month, but I did get in all my workouts. This challenge really pushed me. I love it! I'm still keeping with my same workout schedule Monday through Friday with a few minutes more of arms and abs added in afterwards for good measure.

My goal will be 400 minutes of cardio. That seems laughable compared to the goals of others, but it will be more than I was able to complete in October.

Tabbycat, NO goal is a laughable one. Striving for any goal is worthwhile. Glad you're joining us for November!!
I'm in, and will shoot for the same goals as Sept and Oct (since I really had to push to meet them at the end of both months!): 20 days of exercise and 100 miles of running/walking/biking/whatever (any dedicated exercise for which I can track mileage). |
Tomorrow marks one month back on plan :).. I put all my attention into keeping track of what I ate last month..Now that I have keeping track of what I eat down to a habit it's time to start moving...Starting slow @ one mile a day for the month of november.. Thirty miles in November is my goal.. I'm excited to have a goal that the scale isn't in charge of :goodscale

I made up a personal challenge for myself, but I figure I can keep track of it here! My idea was that on NO day in NOvember would I say NO to exercise. Ha! So silly. Seriously though, I'm a beginner where exercise is concerned, and I just need to commit to doing something every day. That could mean a walk, a dvd, a mix of jumping jacks/push ups/crunches/lunges... Just some exercise daily.
I've lost six pounds in the last three weeks without exercise, but I know the exercise will help keep me motivated and accountable. Thanks for the challenge! |
Forgot to mention, day 1 of 30 is completed. I did a 10 minute Zumba intro and a 20 minute class (kind of random, but it's something!) plus 5 squat thrusts. The squat thrusts nearly killed me and really underscored how out of shape I am!

My goal is to do some sort of exercise daily, either a run, a walk, 30DS, or a fitness game on the xbox or wii.

Hello everyone! My goal is to put in 600 minutes of exercise for MOVEmber :) It averages out to 30 minutes a day for 20 days. I am going on vacation (to a nice sunny place to get away from this cold weather...BBBRRRRRRRR) for 10 days and know that I will not exercise during my vacation.

Pushed myself to workout last night, despite that fact that I'm getting sick. I was super proud of myself at the time, but I woke up with a pounding headache. Maybe not the best idea? Feeling a bit better this afternoon, and hopefully I'll be able to do something low intensity tonight. Maybe just a long walk. I really don't want to let anything get in the way of my momentum!

paris - a walk would probably be ideal. Getting the heart pumping and blood moving just a bit could help the headache actually.

I didn't actually have an "exercise goal", just a weight loss goal for the month... But now that I think about it, it would motivate me.
I'll start at just 20 miles this month, let's see how it goes :D I just started running again yesterday, and I was SO OUT OF SHAPE! I prefer to aim low and actually do it than feel like I have failed :o |
Hiya, I'm a little late but I've been waiting for a new thread to start on this challenge so I could join.
My goals for November are to finish the C25K program, run a 5K, run 2x a week, run/walk 50 miles, and 1300 minutes of exercise. Progress: W8 of C25K- 2 days down 1 to go 2x week run- Done this week Mileage count- 6.77 Exercise minutes: 144 |
Ack! I didn't get to put a little red heart next to yesterday's date. I could have had I worked out earlier like I was supposed to. Then my mom called in the afternoon saying my dad was dizzy, so I took him to urgent care and, after several hours of tests and waiting, it was determined that his heart was beating a bit slow due to dehydration. Then right when we got home, I headed over to my BIL's 50th birthday party (where I stayed on plan).
By the time I got home, it was late and I was exhausted. That'll teach me to get my exercise in early in the day. I'll make up for it on Saturday. Hope everyone else's month is starting out better. |

Nov 3: 170 kcal (walking, 37mins) I dunno what went wrong today... My GPS on the phone wasn't working, my heart rate monitor wasn't working... So I had to guess the calories I got totally spooked several times by random people, cats and even bin bags and kept looking over my shoulder while exercising, I couldn't even run because I kept on looking back and stopping to figure out where noises were coming from. Also loads of police cars going around :s One of the most uncomfortable situations ever! |

Nov 1 - Nov 2 - Running and walking (3.3 miles total) Nov 3 - Strength training upper body (Basic program, Day 1, Week 1*) + crunches Days: 2/20 Miles: 3.3/100 *This is a new body weight strength training program I'm going to try to incorporate into my exercise. I'll probably work through it slowly as I don't want to totally cut out my weight circuit at the gym. I think the variety of doing both will help keep me from getting bored, and it seems like it can't hurt to mix up the exercises so that different muscles are being worked in different ways. |
