JillNicole: Friday weigh ins? Start: 242 BTW: I ate FANTASTICALLY today. Especially after I measured myself for July. I only lost 4.5 inches all over as opposed to 12.5 the month before. It is time to GET IT DONE! |

Hey everyone! I'd like to join you since these monthly challenges have been motivating me a whole lot more than I thought! ;)
1) stick to my calories like glue 2) keep to my workouts 3) keep moving all day long....not just at the gym. 4) a binge-free month...how nice that would be! :) |
Luckymommy: i would love a binge-free month too! But, I doubt that will happen for me.
I was having one of those days where everything goes wrong and of course with TOM edging in, I ate a bunch of carbs. As in, 5 slices (and not much else all day besides spinach and fruit) of pumpernickle bread. Holy crap. All within like 2 hrs. It was almost binge-worthy. Grrr. I stayed in my calorie alotment which I did end up going over by 50 cals last night (but I exercised for 1/2 an hr). On the plus side, I had a great day with my kids after my not so great one. We played board games inside bc they were tired of being outdoors with camp all day. My daughter is also obsessed with my FB. She loves the games so we were playing them. Also, my electronic food scale came in today. I just have to figure it all out lol. Since I'm still feeling so drained, I'm going to forgo reg cardio and do my own 100 rep exercises: boxer punches, wall push ups, squats, jump ropes, demi plies, and crunches. I figure they are something I can do everyday, especially when I am away this weekend. Hope everyone is doing good :) |
I'm in :)
Goals: 10 lbs weight loss Fasting blood sugar average for the month under 130 1 gallon of water per day Keep tracking all food intake And...dare I say it..exercise. I'm going to start small with 2 days per week. That's only 9 days this month. I can do it. Right? Yeah, I can do it :) |
sheramama - Sorry to hear of the crappy day.... so glad you stayed in calorie allowed though! That's great! Also glad you got some quality time with the board games for the kids :)
Yesterday I had a bit of an issue physically with doing elliptical, which worried me since weigh in was today and I did start strength training this week too... which in itself is enough to not make scale move. As I was doing cardio last night, my lungs felt pinched, then heart rate got all jacked up. I haven't had heart rhythm issues since I had the heart surgery back in 2005! So, I stopped... allowed myself to pull out of it, and did manage to get back on, but only long enough to burn another 100 calories... better than nothing. Almost 300 burned total yesterday cardio. Got on the scale today and was shocked... it actually still went down... 0.6Lbs worth! :O I will take it! As for the rhythm, it won't stop me... just have to be careful until September when our humidity goes away I guess. |
My bad.... - .8 Lbs.... my math is really BAD! LOL!

Jeniansmom... :welcome:
EVERYONE HAS REALLY GREAT AUGUST PLANS FOR THEMSELVES! :D WE CAN DO THIS! EVERY POUND COUNTS :cheer2: So I think for August I'm going to try to eat just fruit once a week. I read it helps lose weight a little faster if you do that, basically the whole cycling calories idea. I'll know for sure after I try it once ;) I also need to buy lemons so I can start having a warm glass of fresh lemon water every morning which I read helps your body. Lemons are suppose to help with lots I hear, it's also suppose to be a good toner fir your face!! So I'm going to try that too! Today I'm also starting multivitamins so that the one day of fruits don't effect my vitamins. Friday is the day after tomorrow, ALREADY!! lol :p |
JillNicole - Those sound like good goals too! I am also doing the lemon water starting this week, but mine will be at night after all the food is consumed. I am glad you found a fun way to "mix it up" for yourself with the food :) Sounds fun actually!
I have to add a goal : I met with nutritionist who was "checking up on my progress"... just to find after she added up all my stuff I eat, I am STILL not at 1200 calories. WAYYYY back in the day I would struggle with binging... but untaught (is that a word?) myself shortly after... now I seriously struggle to get in the calories. She says I am just shy of 1100 and short on grain and protein... omg! I hate that it's a struggle for me... I hate that even though I am seeing loss, that I am still not doing this right yet... so... practicing what I preach - I will change what I don't like now that the tools have been given to me in order to do so. Pull up my britches and tomorrow is a new day... I CAN do this |
ItsMyTurn.. U can always just add a handful if nuts or 1/2 an avocado to make up Ur calorie difference :)
SheraMama.. Yes :D FRIDAY WEIGH-INS! :goodscale: |
JillNicole - nutritionalist said to incorporate things like turkey sandwich at my lunch break to cover the grains and proteins I am deficient in... hopefully that will bring me up to par on the ends. I'm sorry.. but this is honestly one of my biggest struggles. I have hang-ups/learned behavior from ridicule that came from a family member for years.. it's seriously hard to unlearn them. I certainly didn't get this way being anorexic, but apparently my lack of eating has had a lot to do with slowing my metabolism to a crawl. I appreciate her telling me and giving me tools to fix it, and I soooo appreciate finding this community for support...but it gets SO frustrating sometimes. First it was "what" I ate... then it was my activity I had to change... then it was the supplements... then it was my medical issues.... then it was "why haven't you gotten strength training yet?" ... and now it's that I am deficient in 3 areas and not getting enough calories. It really makes a person wonder if they will ever just get it right. Sorry... I know I am usually keyed up and positive... guess I am not good company on the posting boards right now. I will hopefully get it in perspective and just pull out of this funk I feel right now
|
It'sMyTurn... This is a place for support! Which means the best place to vent. You know were here whenever you need a good listener, venting is good for frustration :) it seems like you've went through a lot trying to get healthy! Does the turkey sandwich sound easy to incorporate into your lifestyle?
My favorite meal that has grains and protein: quinoa, black beans, corn & avocado yummy :) |
ItsMyTurn: Don't worry, hon. You'll get it right. Life is all about trial and error; dieting is no different. ****, I'm still tweeking my calorie allowance around to see what works.
JillNicole: We're leaving right after work for Philly so I won't know if I'll be able to post. If I can't, I will post my fri weight mon. BTW: Where's our dear friend Darius? Today was a blah day. TOM is taunting me and I feel like a balloon. Surprise, surprise I jump on the scale and 1.2 lbs gain since yesterday. I better be water and go away by tomorrow! I started the 100 reps and holy crap my legs were shaking, especially during the demi plies. They were so much easier to do at 140lbs! I am taking a little break so they finally stop lol, then I have to make my daughter's lunch for tomorrow and I may (hopefully) get in some dance. Otherwise, g'night everyone! |
