Hey all! Sorry I've not been about for a couple of days.
Bac0s - Well done! That's such a terrific achievement
Cookc04 - What a lovely area... running by water is so nice! Where you run looks so refreshing and peaceful!
ashley nicole - Welcome, and I hope you really enjoy C25K! I've found this group really supportive and it's so interesting to hear of other people's experiences
JayLei - I just run the three days a week, in the mornings, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I have also had a similar feeling to you, feeling really energetic at other times (presumably because of being fitter!), but I keep the running to those times partially because I like the structure of the C25K programme and I want to stick to it, and partially, because like dudesmom said, I don't want to develop any strains or injuries. It's really nice feeling so enthusiastic about it though!
Yesterday, I ran W5D2 and was really surprised that I could actually do the 8 minutes! The last few minutes of the second 8-minute run were fairly tough, but it's amazing how much of it is caused by your thoughts and other mental things. For example, at the very start of the second 8-minute interval, I immediately felt like I had a stitch, and was thinking "oh no, how am I going to continue for another 7 minutes?!", but then I just concentrated on the scenery around me, the pain went and it was fine. In fact, the weather was appalling, it was raining and very windy, and I was just concentrating on the dramatic sea weather, and it made the run go by much more easily. Yay!
Tomorrow for me is a bit of a milestone... it's W5D3, so the 20-minute no-stopping run! Eek! I have to say, I'm quite nervous about it because I just want to do it so badly, and it seems like such a long time, but at the same time, I've managed the rest of the programme, so hopefully with the same mindset I will manage tomorrow. I'll post and let you know how it goes!
