Glad you arent going to let yourself go overboard with the beer this time, remember last time? Neesy-you will hit 189 the next few days and will probably be in the low 180s in 10 days. Maddiesmom-maintaining is ok for as sick as you have been this week. Your treats sound yummy from yesterday. I will have to look at your pics on FB. I finally made it to 210(where I wanted to be last Sunday) I cant figure out why my losses have slowed so much. They slowed down when I started 30ds. Today will be day 20. I am going to do it a little later, just had dinner, dont think it would be a good idea to do it now. I have lost 12 lbs since the start of our challenge. I know that is good, but I want more! Oh well, cant change the past but I can make sure the future is different. I will check in later. |
Burgundy- I quit 30ds because of that. I just went back to my cardio. Its still great that you are @ 210!! Every one hits plateaus... maybe extra water and extra protein.
I didn't budge from 159 but I am cool with that. It will happen. I am feeling great other than teeth clenching in my sleep. Ready to work out and watch the Rockies. |
So AJ-your weightloss slowed on 30ds too? I really want to finish out the 30 days but I want to lose in the next ten days too. My sister is doing it too. We move on to level 3 tomorrow. I am gonna talk to my sister. I know she has lost I think 4 lbs but has lost inches.
Oh well, I will figure it out. |
Yeah. My weight loss halted on 30ds because of muscle gain. I don't want bulk muscle. I want to be toned once I am skinny but just building muscle under my fat was not working for me. Lindy loved it though!

Well I am home from Thanksgiving dinner and my arse is definitely NOT thanking me for the food I consumed....yack!!! I didn't drink too much, a few glasses of red wine and 1/2 glass of beer but oh god the food was sooo good and then dessert - yikes. Anyway, I have a tummy ache. On a positive note, I had an awesome workout today and felt great. I am heading to the gym early tomorrow and then going to crack down hard like I was before except being more diligent with calorie counting. I never weighed in today and won't until next week. I am going to take measurements though since the scale really isn't moving too quickly, I am packing on muscle which for me is great - but if I depend on the scale I am going to get demotivated alot! I was watching the biggest loser couples (it's an older version I think) and they were weighing in and this lady who worked her arse off all week in the gym didn't lose anything - and then Jillian talks about food - and I was like - I really think that is my problem - it might be the medication too but I am weaning off that over the next few months. I cried when I was running on the treadmill when they get eliminated it's so sad. I am addicted to that show. Rayne - woo hoo for 210. It's frustrating to not see a change, but are you noticing inches at least? AJ - I can't wait to be in the 150's - your positive attitude is what weighs in the most in my opinion :) AJ - I am clenching my teeth in my sleep as well - in fact I think I am wearing down my top molar on my crown - it's only been the past few months..my jaw is so sore in the am - what the **** causes that? I know I have to go to the dentist but I am scared of the big fat bill!!! Even with coverage. Plus I almost puke everytime I go near that place. Vicky - awesome pics! I agree with AJ - it makes me want a pumpkin!!! Sorry I bailed on our challenge this week, I am just too scared to weigh myself after the week I've had. I too ate way too much today and had more wine than I should have. I did limit myself to only one dessert and I made it so I know it wasn't TERRIBLE (maple apple blueberry crisp mmmmm). I ran two and a half miles this morning so I am hoping that helps counter act it a bit. It is ridiculously late so I must get to bed. Good night!! |
Momof5K - no I'm not watching the current season yet, I find it hard to find time to watch it when it's on here...and I can't figure out a way to watch older episodes that are not on TV - would love to watch all the way from season 1. Very inspiring!!!
I'm feeling the food that I consumed last night for sure...but I am heading to the gym bright and early this morning - have to get back into a routine. And a good one!!! Have to learn that my cravings are controllable and can't allow the stress of the upcoming week to derail me. I have a chat scheduled tomorrow with a co-worker that I am having problems with. Those conversations are never pleasant. I don't respect that person personally or professionally and although I am sure she is a nice person, we just don't mesh but we have to find a middle ground. You know the type of person that sulks and pouts instead of addressing a concern - well that's what I have to deal with. It's my biggest pet peeve. It's like, just say what is on your mind!!! So it should be interesting how it goes tomorrow. It's been a long time coming that is for sure. More annoying that I have to deal with it, I'm happy just not having anything to do with her but apparently that isn't going to work - sigh!!! |
Ok ladies this post might be a little self centered but after seeing a lot of you share pics, I had to take my own. Man was I surprised and excited when I saw the side view. I was getting down because I wasnt seeing the scale move much, but the inches are coming off.

Woo hoo Burgandy - looks awesome. I'm glad you did this too - it helps doesn't it - the scale doesn't move but the inches come off...and really isn't that what matters? The scale has to move sooner or later I say!
I'm taking pictures every two weeks and have this big 11X17 paper that shows them, same pose, same place, same outfit and I hope it keeps inspiring me. I'm glad taking pictures inspired you!! Thank god for digital cameras so we don't have to take them in to get developed anymore lol! Well I better get moving, I decided to sleep a bit longer but I am going to the gym now...such a struggle to get me out of bed lately. I am blaming it on this new duvet that I got - I love it and it wraps me up like a piggy in a blanket! Umph speaking of piggy - I better get moving! Hope you all have a good day today! AJ-I thought about quitting 30ds, but now I am going to stick it out for the next 10 days on level 3. After seeing those pictures, I am motivated to keep going.
Staccie-sounds like you enjoyed your Thanksgiving meal, and are getting right back on track. Hope the meeting with the coworker goes well. I am addicted to Biggest Loser too, I think I have seen every season. Also addicted to Nip/Tuck!!!! Thank you maddiesmom, AJ and Staccie. I have just felt great today after seeing those. I am having an off day. Not a binging off day but a lazy/don't want to work out or cook kind of day. I have a major problem with not eating enough calories. Thats how I put most of this weight on. I am not sure why I am down today. Its a lazy/feel fat/not moving off the couch day. Ugh! I need a job so bad. Sorry to be a bummer today. =( |
AJ - no luck with the job search yet...sorry to hear that - that can definitely be a downer. And you be a 'bummer' whenever you want - you are always so cheery and motivational - so let us do that for you! I have head hunting experience so message me if I can help you at all :) And take advantage of the lazy day and then go hard tomorrow...and yes my new duvet full of down feathers...ahhh I love it. It's fall here and about 5-10 degrees so not too cold but enough to cuddle in at night. Is the temp there still in the high 80's and 90's? It was always good for a vacation but I don't know about long term. When I saw they decorated cactus with xmas lights it was just too weird! I remember getting a burn on Christmas day a few years ago and really wishing for snow. But then I get snow and I wish for desert - so wtf! But hopefully you can find ways to get through it...
Burgandy - you go girl - those results are awesome - who gives a fat hoot what the scale says - pictures don't lie and just think - they say it adds weight - so we're even smaller than that!!! I had a good workout although it took me awhile to get there. I did 60 min of cardio and 45 min of strength training. I really ramped it up on the treadmill, running at an ok pace for 2 min, walking for 2 min - then running really hard for 1 min and walking for 2 min, walking backwards and forwards on a really high incline, sidestepping - I just get too bored going in one direction. I have treadmill ADHD!!! I'm going to ramp it up this week and I bought all my food and planned all of my meals and going to track every thing I put into my mouth. I only bought the food that I am going to eat too. Tonight, well it's 4PM here now, I have to clean up and do some stuff and then work for a bit. It's a nice 4 day work week - woo hoo!! And in two weeks from tomorrow I am on vacation. WOO HAH! |

Hi Ladies,
Still majorly under the weather here in Chicago. I can't seem to shake it and now TOM and migraines are adding to the mix...not a great week here. Haven't worked out since Thursday. ugh. I did attempt to go yesterday morning, I drove the 20 minutes to the gym in 32 degree weather to find out...there was a power outage. I did some cleaning and yardwork, that's as much energy as I could muster. I have the trainer tomorrow, so I'm sure he'll kick my butt into high gear. I just wish I knew what I had. I don't have a stuffy nose, but I feel completely drained. Plus, I am totally stressed at work, which doesn't help. Went to the orchard, and I took some pics with my baby. I also had some pics from last year...and I have totally noticed how my face has thinned out. It's hard to tell with the rest of my body since I was bundled up, but take a look. Hope you are all doing well. Good night. |
Vicky- You are doing great. I am sorry you are still icky. Hopefully the rest of the week will start to look up. Your trainer sounds amazing. I wish I had one of him =) or two. lol. Feel better chica! And again, the pics are so cute!

Rayne - I am curious about this workout DVD thing...I work out at the gym but everyone talks about it...it sounds really tough with all these levels and stuff... Well I didn't get any work done this weekend and I don't care. I will have to focus hard this week and get through it. Pretty soon this weekends won't be an option so I guess for now they are so I will take advantage of it while it lasts! Feeling good from my workout and remotivated to have an awesome week. Losing 10 pounds before Halloween is a daunting task and if I don't, well that is ok - but I will fit into my snug pants.. Goodnight everyone. I hope to log on tomorrow during lunch! S |

Good morning girlys! Oh how I have missed you girls sooooo much! And...I have fantastic news, I only gained 2 pounds on the cruise!!! Woo-freakin-hoo! Haha. Lets see, quick overview of my vaca, had a blast, hated Jamaica though, met a hot Boston boy (lol-see Mygrits, you were right!), met a hot Bosnian waiter who gave me a personal tour of Cancun (he was my waiter on the boat) and we agreed to be penpals (nothing more---obviously), exercised everyday on the boat, ate tons but never took the elevators once, stairs everytime, LOVED looking at my pics---I actually want to post them for everyone to see, Im not ashamed. Um, I think that is pretty much it. :)
Ok--Burgundy and Maddiesmom, you guys look AMAZING!!! Burgundy, I so want to whoop out my 30DS again after seeing your pics, you are doing great girly. Ill have to catch up with everyone elses posts later, Im sorry, Im sooooo behind at work and at home, this is the only bad part of vaca. Ill catch you girls later. PS- new goal, get down to 160 by Halloween for my sexy Little Red Riding Hood outfit that Im going to wear to a costume party, hee-hee. |

I made a mistake and weighed myself this morning - OMG - that was nasty. But I know I don't weigh that - no way - I'm not stepping on that damn thing until Thursday. I had some good workouts this weekend and well a bit of sodium on the weekend - but I am bound and determined! I got up at 445am, went and did 45 min of strength training followed by 30 min of spin. I have Yoga tonight as I really need to do some stretching. I don't consider Yoga a workout - I know many would disagree! I got my food all packed and going to rock it. My arse isn't going to know what hit it!! AJ - sorry about the ice cream...were you feeling grouchy? I tend to eat bad when I am grouchy too - let's try and find something else to do when things are not going well...get a good workout in today and drink tons of water and don't go near the scale for a few days :) Lindy - welcome back - sounds like an awesome vacation! Can't wait to see some pictures. And little red riding hood heh - I hope you find a big bad wolf - woo hoo!!! And congrats on the 2 pounds - for a vacation like that - amazing! I hope you can rub in that chicks face at work!!! HAHAHA Well I am off to work and I have that coworker to deal with today - yuck - I have no idea how that is going to go and it's after lunch when I a bit more quiet and 'leave me alone' kind of mode, I should have gotten it over with this morning! Geez---its hard to get back into the groove of eating healthy after Ive had steak and hibachi and god knows what else on my trip, lol. Yesterday and today have not been too good, but I did make it to the gym, but was running behind and only got in 10 minutes of cardio, it was mainly an upper body weights day.
Stacie- kudos on your gym routine. I see your ticker reflects 5 pounds down, good job. Your getting there slowly but surely. OH and I love your big bad wold comment, lol...definately! :P |
LINDY- Welcome back!!! We missed you too. I am glad you had fun. I have never been on a real cruise and I can only imagine it is awesome! (Real cruise because I did sail from the Greek Isles to Turkey but the ship was cruddy and small) I can't wait to see your pics!!!!
Staccie- Thank you so much. You really are one of the most amazing people I know. So fun! I am doing okay I guess. I was really grouchy and feeling just blahhhh! I am okay I think now. I am just bored. AND! I can't wait to be 10lbs lighter @ Halloween! I need it! Okay I am hating myself this morning for yesterday. Its okay though. Its over. So, I cancelled my training tonight with Mr. Hott. He's such a nice guy though, told me to feel better and that he'll miss my "sarcastic personality." We ended up talking on the phone for 10 minutes. So, I'm going back next Wednesday with him. Now, if only I could get past this cold, I'd be in better shape. I haven't worked out since last Thursday (does laundry and house work count?) and my eating has gone down hill the past week as well.
I had Wendy's today for lunch, paying for it now, the grease is lodged in my stomach. Had 3 pieces of pizza last night for dinner. I gotta stop!!! Back on track tomorrow, I promise. You'll just have to hold me to it. I was doing so well, I can't be sidetracked now. It's the classic cycle, when I'm sick, it's really hard to stick to a diet. How is everyone else doing? AJ: did you recover from last night? Lindy: Welcome back! Congrats on only gaining 2, that is really impressive. And, now you can tell your co-worker to stick it where the sun don't shine!! Staccie-I actually like the 30ds, its only 20 minutes. It used to be on youtube but I think it was taken off. You do 3 circuits of 3 minutes strength, 2 minutes cardio and 1 minute abs. Good workout. How did the talk with your coworker go?
Lindy-welcome back and congrats on only gaining 2 lbs, that will be easy to take off. Thanks for the compliment too. Aj-hope the walk with your hubby was good, its nice he is trying to help you. Vicky-maybe you will start to feel better tomorrow. You must really feel bad to cancel your trainer. Did day 22 today. Level 3 is killer!!!! I am staying home tomorrow, so I wont eat out. I have been eating lunch out almost everyday since Friday. I have been making pretty good choices, but I could make better ones at home. I am gonna get myself in bed. Hi ladies...well I made it through today - didn't eat anything I wasn't planning on, although I made some adjustments, I didn't go over my calorie range. Woo hoo! I had to plug my nose when I was walking by all the yummy restaurants from Yoga but I made it without stopping. I had a light dinner as it's late and I feel good. Yoga is awesome - I felt way less tense after!
My chat with the coworker went ok - thanks for asking Burgandy - I don't think it's resolved, nor will it ever be - but I think we found some middle ground. We're just very different that's all. And I realize that I can be kind of a ***** sometimes. Is Dance still away in San Fran? AJ - sorry to hear you are in a funk...but you do have a lot going on too so I hope you are not being too hard on yourself and no cheats today! Give yourself a booty high five!! Hope things start looking up soon for you! Vicky - hope you are on the mend as well and I hear you on the eating bad when sick - I was a prime example of that last week. I hope you can find the strength to get back on track tomorrow - it's so hard to get back when you fall off but you always seem to pull through so well. Lindy - glad you made it to the gym - and hope easing yourself back into your routine pre-vacation works out soon. I am so proud of you only gaining 2 pounds - so awesome. I think I gained that last week by just being bad when I was sick and I wasn't even having fun doing it! Burgandy - kudos for how hard you are working girl! Those next pictures, you are going to be like - who is that hawt arse chick! Well I wish that I could do some work tonight but I am too tired. I think I will read for about 1/2 hour and go to bed. Howdy, girls! I'm finally back and missed you guys! We had a good time in the Bay area and I was able to keep up with running and hiking and as far as I can tell am at the same weight as when I left. Apart from seeing my bf's parents, I was also able to spend most of a day with an old buddy from grad school who has also been on a weight loss kick and who also has a moody partner so as you can imagine, we had tons to talk about. It makes such a difference being with people who really understand you, don't you think? Anyway, I know I missed a bunch and haven't completely caught up yet but I only have time for a quick post as work is crazy and I leave for another long weekend on Friday.
Burgundy - you look awesome! your torso is looking much slimmer - that must make a huge difference in clothes! :bravo: maddiesmom - loved seeing the updated pic - even though it's not a body shot, you can completely see the difference in your face and upper body. Major progress - we're so proud of you! staccie - way to go on yoga! aj - what's going on on the job front? what are the next steps? lindy - glad you had a great time on your cruise - and congrats for minimizing your gain! Still not feeling well today, but what can ya do? I'm eating better. Had some oatmeal for breakfast with some green tea. I just had a sweet and salty bar to hold me over until lunch, which will be a Lean cuisine panini and probably some soup. And, lots of water. Have turkey burger for dinner, so I'll be doing well calorie-wise. The hubby has been a big help, I get Madeline ready in the morning and he's downstairs making my lunch, so he knows what to pack for me, so there's no way I can sneak any extra treats, and he gets my lean cuisines together for me. It seems to be working so far, so we'll see. Dance: Welcome back! Congrats on staying the same weight!! That's impressive. Staccie: Good luck with your classes tonight, you'll do great. Glad you enjoyed the yoga class. I should try that...or maybe pop the 30DS in like Burgundy to lose some inches. Anyways, busy busy day at work, so I will check in later! |

I've had this open in my browser for a few hours and haven't been able to get to it. Busy, busy day! Well I couldn't sleep in this morning, but I didn't work out and did some catch up on work instead. Looking forward to heading to the gym tonight and getting out of this crazy place! Still on track for food, have the munchies today but I think it's because it's nasty and rainy outside. I am hoping to see some results on the scale tomorrow, or at least lost what I seemed to put on during my TOM week of horrors last week! Dance- nice to see you back and glad you had a good trip and from the sounds of it - some bonding time too! That is always helpful. And good on you for exercising and stuff while you were away - inspirational!! Vicky - sounds like you are slowly getting your health back - yeah! And it's so great that your husband is helping you and supportive of your choices - that makes life so much easier!! I just can't sit at home any more. PS I got those apples you told me about. I will have one tonight. I changed the way I started my day. I got up and checked the news. Went to the grocery store and bought nummy good fruits and veggies that for what ever reason are on super sale. Asparagus for $.99 thats redick! lol. Then I cleaned the apt which I have not done in days and re organized my kitchen. Now I am sitting in a clean apt with good food, a gossip magazine for my walking later and two cute dogs. MUCH BETTER DAY!! |

I've found that good for networking. A buddy of mine (stay at home mom with sales background) that's just looking for part-time just got weekends and evenings at Kohls - I think they do a lot of hiring heading into the holiday season - might be worth a look and you gotta love a good employee discount ;) |
Hey girls! Only one more week til graduation! I am so excited. Just nervously anxious.. Oh.. I haven't seen my mom in a couple months.. which is a long story, but anyway. I see her and the first thing she says.. you're so skinny! Have you been starving yourself!? Kind of a half compliment. haha. Like the only way I can lose weight is if I starve myself. Anyway.. I also took my wedding rings to get resized so that I will have them on grad day. I use to wear a 7.5 ... I'm getting them resized to a 6.5 .. and actually 6 fit but I wanted to account for occassional swelling. So.. yay! My fingers are officially skinny! haha.. By the way.. I officially made it to 189.0 today. YES!

I am sorry my working lifestyle has interferred with posting on here, and I hope I can do better in the days to come. I am working alot, and still trying to keep the homefront going forward (cleaning and all.....yuck). I do see some of you on FB, which I try to peek into for a couple of minutes when I get home. My daughter, who I rarely hear from the last month posts on there from her phone, which is what I check on. Other than that, my computer life is little lately. Work is better, but it is work and completely wears me out by the time I get home. It is continuous walking, standing, lifting, bending and more for 8 to 10 hours per day. Yes, it is keeping me active, but stressed too.........ugh. On to all of you! Lindy - Congrates on the minor 2lb from the cruise. That is quite an accomplishment. Thank you for sharing your pictures on FB. You looked wonderful. Neesy - I am in SHOCK, and AWE of your weightloss. I mean I really am!!!! Wow, and remember when you wanted to make it to 199 for your husbands return! LOL.........I think you blew that way out of the water!! I am sooo proud of you. Dance - I have missed reading your posts, because you are such a motivator. You are at 165! Congratulations are in order for you too! You have lost the right way, the healthy way, which says alot for your determination. I know it is much harder to lose the closer you get to goal. What an inspiration you are! Staccie - I don't know where your weight is, but I KNOW you have been hard at it from seeing your blurbs on FB. I am so proud of your hard work at the gym and eating. I know you had to have lost inches and some pounds. Just the fact your changing your lifestyle says alot!! Burgund - Yes, you still are ahead, and I am proud of you for that! Well, and envious too! LOL........I am still on your heels and if I can get a routine down with work, I WILL catch up!! Congratulations to you too! Maddie - WOW, and more WOW's on your 229!!!!! You have lost so much........good grief your on my heels!! How is Mr. Hott? Still Hott I would imagine. You have always been so consistent and such a hard worker........I wish you were my neighbor ;-) AJ - Hello! How is your new home and life? I see your looking for work? I hope your find something soon, and actually I know you will....Just stick with it. It did take me a while and can be emotionally hard, but with patience a job did appear - actually two. So, advice.....stay positive.....workout as that will help your emotional side and keep looking. If I missed anyone, I am sorry. My weight hasn't really changed, still hoovering around 212 and 214. I have done good and then do to work stress......majorly pigged out. I am starting to feel more balanced and hopefully can get into a routine now. I don't know how to workout yet, because with work, my feet hurt, so walking is out because I need to save them for work. If I walk, I won't be able to work........I know weird. So we will see. Any suggestions with workouts when someone is worn out from work, tired and feet hurting?? |
Dance-thanks for the compliment! Sounds like you had a good time on your trip. The hiking sounds nice. Its starting to get pretty cold here so I am trying to get in as many walks as I can before the snow flies.
maddiesmom-maybe the eating better will put you on the mend. Its nice of your hubby to help you out with lunches, we dont want you sneaking any bad stuff. Staccie-after your bad TOM, I am sure you will have a loss. You deserve it. AJ-your day sounded much better today. No more funk!! YAY! I cleaned my house today too, and did more laundry. I hate when it piles up. Neesy-I knew you would make it to the 180s before time to see your hubby. 7 more days!!! You must be super excited. My ring size is a 6 now too. Mygrits-We have all missed you. Glad to hear work is going ok and I am sure you will get into a routine that works for you and you will start to see a loss again soon. Maybe you could do some shadow boxing or crunches after work. Nothing exciting happened here today. Had one of my nephews over for the day, we carved pumpkins. Did day 23 today. Just a week to go now and i am gonna take the 22nd as a rest day. My muscles are going to need it. Nip/Tuck will be on soon, so gotta get a few things done so I can sit down and enjoy it.
