YESSSSSSSSSSS!!! I made it through the day and bedtime is only 3 hours away and it seems like the craving has subsided. The bad thing...lol, I had to do something kinda dumb. I usually buy my dogs dog food from BJS (no...Im not going into a story about eating dog food, lol)...anyway, because you can buy "people food" there and I was still hungry, I went to the pet store and paid 5 dollars more for the same thing just because I didnt want to be distracted and go off the cleanse, lol...I consider this an investment because if I went into BJ's, I would have definately spent that same $5, if not more in food, so...ya know. This is really going to be a comical, belly aching, shut the heck up Lindy experience for all of you...so enjoy the ride.

Why is everyone so quiet today?

dancerindenver 09-01-2009 06:44 PM

Lindy - whatever works, right? Good for you for avoiding distraction!

Hi Ladies,

Just got home from a busy day. As I said earlier, I DID get my workout in this morning....whew.........my eating was good today, even with going out to dinner with my daughter. She got here today with two of her friends from base, and wanted to go out to eat, and then shopping for her flower bouquets for the wedding. We went to Brians BBQ..........love the place....so good......yummy ribs and steaks........BUT I was good, as was my husband. I am so proud of him. I got the salad bar, and the only 'bad' thing I had from it was some chicken salad on the side. My husband ordered a 'plain' hamburger and some fries. Yes, his wasn't perfect, however, he had nothing on the burger, and the fries were steak fries and he didn't eat all of them. So, for the most part, all was good.

Maddie - Wow, you are such a rock! I am amazed everytime I read your posts. You are consistent, positive and a workout machine. I have a request, cell pic of Mr Hott. We could all hang him on our refrigerator as a motivator to workout ;-)

Lindy - Wow, your doing awesome too. I am really curious about your cleanse as I will recommend it if all goes well. What about dehydration? I mean how much do you drink daily, and how many calories?

Dance - I agree that when you start the day off with a 'bang' you are more productive throughout. I am focused again, but dreading the two days in Georgia for the wedding - I mean the food part......lol......everything else will be awesome. So I figure if I hit it hard up till Sunday, maybe it will help while I'm around delicious foods and deserts......lol

Anybody heard from Tiff? I hope all is going good for her.

MaddiesMom 09-01-2009 09:10 PM

Lindy: Congrats on switching stores to avoid the food! It's all about little changes. Good job with day 1. Hope it gets easier from here.

Sandy: Great job on the salad bar!! Bet you felt better after eating that then eating the pizza buffet the other night!! :P Way to go for the hubby as well!

I finished the day pretty well food wise. My afternoon snack was a Kashi bar with water and then for dinner I had one pork rib and 1/4 cup of mashed potatoes and a bunch of fresh green beans, with more water. I'm stuffed, even though looking back I woulda eaten twice as much.

Had an epiphany last week. I was eating a smaller meal and watching my portions when I realized that this time last year, I would have easily eaten twice that amount without even thinking. Now, thinking about my old portion sizes really makes me sick for the amount of food I used to shovel in at night. Now I have smaller portions, I'm satified, not stuffed. Now I don't feel as sluggish as I was (of course 30+ pounds lighter definitely helps!). What things have you ladies noticed?

Have a great night!

Hotsplashes 09-01-2009 09:25 PM

HI Ladies... I am sicker than a dog right now.. think it's something I ate. But I have a horrid headache also.. So I will post more tomorrow... Niteynite

Neesy_20 09-01-2009 09:34 PM

hey girls. i have just been exhausted lately.. for no reason. I left work early because they offered. There were too many nurses on. So that was nice. Took the dogs to the park and hung out. I'm off the next 3 days. So.. it's like a little mini vacation. Well.. kind of. I'm gonna try and stay busy. I'm gonna hit the gym each day. I haven't slipped up at all on this diet yet. I have to say i'm pretty impressed with myself. I have a goal and i'm so focused.. especially when i get a letter from DH. I got one today. He rappelled from this huge tower. He is deathly scared of heights. He said he was terrified but got through it. He amazes me and I want to amaze him when he sees me. I'm not telling him how much I'm losing. He knows i'm on my diet is all. He keeps me motivated. Oh and this lady at work.. said "you just keep losing and losing weight. You look thinner everytime I see you." That made me feel really good. So, overall, it was a good day.

I'll check in tomorrow as I will have all the time in the world..

Goodnight!

burgundyrayne 09-01-2009 10:56 PM

Dance-sorry, I have been missing. Yes I will be your workout buddy this week. I need motivation to get back to it. I am going to be doing 30ds and my golds gym cardio workout. Plus walking the dogs daily. That sucks about the scale but you can get those 3 lbs off without having to change your ticker.

Lindy-a cleanse for 21 days, do you eat anything at all or just drink the lemonade stuff? Sounds like a good idea to cut back on exercise since your calories are so low. You did what you had to do to stay away from temptation and at least it was only 5 bucks.

Mygrits-your lasagna sounds yummy. Pecan pie is a downfall of mine, so I never have it in the house. My husband gets a slice from KFC sometimes, but I never do.

Maddiesmom-glad you were able to get more sessions with mr hott. Sounds like he is really challenging you. Hope your hubby finds works soon. I was thinking about the way I eat too. I never eat after 8 now, this time last year, I would have sat down with a bag of chips and dip and ate half the bag and not even think twice about it. Now I skip the chips and dip completely.

Hotsplashes-get some rest and hope you feel better soon

Neesy-glad you have a mini vacation. Get to the gym so your hubby will be amazed.

I got on the scale this morning and was at 218 so only 2 to go to get back to my ticker weight. The only workout I did today was a run on the beach with the dogs. Gotta do more tomorrow, Dance you have to get me moving. Gonna get up and go to the Farmers Market tomorrow for some yummy fruits and veggies. I want some melon!! My husbands cousins moved a few hours away so Thursday we are going down to see them and spending the night. We are going out to dinner and want to decide where we are going so I can hopefully look online and see what I want before we go. I hope the motel has a gym, dont want to skip a workout.

I have been extremely hungry today so I just kept myself busy cleaning the yard and doing some laundry. I came to bed early so I wouldnt be tempted to snack.

Have a great day tomorrow ladies.

Hello beauties!!

I have read all 7 pages to catch up. So much going on. I hope you are all well this evening.

My hubby's grnadma died (I think I told you that) and her funeral is this Sat. We went to Wyoming to help with planning because his momma is falling apart. So, I basically quit this week.

I know, I know. I want to gain control but I am just spiraling. Taco bell /pulled pork/ cake out of control. I am not sure how to cut this out when I have 6 more hours in the road thursday night, 2 nights in a hotel with no fridge and then more time driving. HELP!!! I seriously cried myself to sleep last night. I was actually doing it this time! =(

Sundays weigh in for me was 159. Today is 161.

kisses to you all!! Great job on the hard work.
AJ

burgundyrayne 09-01-2009 11:09 PM

AJ-you can do this, dont give up. Get your eating back under control. You just have to make smarter choices. Eating out and being on the road doesnt mean you have to stop eating healthy. Pick up some healthy snacks to have in the car(some fruit, nuts, etc.) Sorry to hear about your husbands grandma. I am sure that contributes to the eating too. But just know we are here for you and want to see you succeed. You mentioned Taco Bell, not the best choice, but they do have the fresco menu now, so those are lower in calories. 159!! Get those 2 lbs off and keep going. Look how far you have come.

And look at your own quote in your signature.
WHY I AM DOING THIS?: I want to fit into my size 28/27 guess jeans again. I want my husband to want me more. I want to be more active. I don't want to be the fat friend anymore. I want to go out with out feeling like I am being talked about.

luckylindy 09-02-2009 08:35 AM

Morning girls...

So, if you look at the diet blog link under my pic...that is going to be my daily journal of the cleanse, A- to not drive you girls nuts with my babbling and B - to avoid being redundent. I plan on being very open in the blog and the symptoms that may be occuring, so...just a TMI alert, lol. Quick post on where I stand though:

The cleanse is just the lemonade mix, no solid food at all. No Im not dehydrated in the slightest because I am drinking 2 liters of this craps, lol...along with 2 liters of water...so thats the furthest concern for me-haha. The part I hate the most is the sea salt cleanse...its where you drink 1 liter of water (at the end of the day is best) and add 2 tbs of sea salt...YUCK...I HATE this stuff sooo much, it is by far the worst part. On a positive note, I am only on Day 3 and I dont feel run down, I dont feel like Im starving to death (I mean...yes, I do have hunger pangs, but nothing extreme considering I havent eaten a solid food in 3 days) and some things are happening that are kinda weird but Im pretty sure good...ie: my face is peeling a little bit, but like...a good peel? Does that make sense? Its like...um, all the dead skin is coming off. I cant describe it. Moving on:

AJ- girly! Get with it. You have worked so hard in the past +month to get where you are, and to throw it away in 1 week is soooo not worth it. Ok, your on the road, you cant cook for yourself but that doesnt mean you cant pick up healthy snacks like almonds, or fruit or carrots, also...almost any place you go these days has a "healthy alternative" menu...common girly...do this. Also, when you do get to the hotel, check out the hotel if they have one and if they dont, do some laps. Dont get complascent! We know its a stressful time but its like I told Mygrits...its not going to get any easier consuming all the food, it will only get harder.

Maddiesmom - My ephifany (sp?)...was more with my exercise than portion control. Um...dont get me wrong, I know I used to be able to eat half a pizza in one sitting and now 2 slices does me just fine but the length of time that I can go with exercising is amazing. Im glad to see that you can see your eating habits, its excting isnt it? It just shows that this is no longer a diet, its a lifestyle change and you will not go back to your old habits. :)

Hotsplashes - ugh...sorry to hear your sick. That season is coming and Im praying I dont catch anything this year. I hope you feel better soon!

Burgundy - 2 pounds is nothing...you'll get there. Although...Im pretty sure Dance is giving you a run for your money, lol. Its time to dust off Jillian again, 2 days with her and you WILL be down those 2 pds, lol. Good for you for staying focused.

Neesy - sounds like a plan girl...you got this in the bag. Heck...Im excited about your hubby coming back now, lol...knowing that he does not realize how much your losing, this is so exciting, I cant wait to hear about his reaction. It sounds like the program is really challenging him in ways that he never imagined (or wanted to imagine)-lol, good for him.

Ok...well, I would tell you girls what Im eating for today but you pretty much know - LEMONADE, lol. Ya know what is funny, Lemonade used to be one of my favorite things to drink, I think Ive even mentioned this before. Well...I am pretty darn sure I will never touch lemonade again after this cleanse, lol. J/k Ok...btw...my calories average 1200 a day, this is just from the drink.

dancerindenver 09-02-2009 08:37 AM

AJ - do you have a little cooler you can bring on your trip? If not, I think you can get a styrofoam one at a grocery store for a few dollars. The hotel will have ice. That way you could bring a veggie plate, hummus, some fruit, etc. You can do this!! 159 must have felt really good - you'll be back there in no time!

luckylindy 09-02-2009 09:39 AM

OK-HOW THE HECK DID I FORGET TO POST THIS?! I hopped on the scale today....I know, I know...I said I wouldnt, lol. BUT - 180 BABY!!! Woo-hoo, oh yeah, <HAPPY DANCE...CABBAGE PATCH...RUNNING MAN...ROGER RABBIT...lol)

AND...and I put on a pair of size 10 pants and they fit perfectly - boo-yah! How the heck did I forget to post this earlier? Silly girl.

dancerindenver 09-02-2009 10:53 AM

Lindy - holy cow! size 10!!! woohoo - major happy dance, sister! And congrats on 180 - you rock!

burgundy - congrats on 2 more lbs to ticker - wtg!! Glad you're back - I need a buddy to stick to plan this week. I didn't have time to squeeze in a workout this morning but will try to walk the stairs in my building when I get a break between meetings. Tomorrow I'll do my usual run. Great idea on the melon - they are so good right now. I have canteloupe with me for a snack at work. Stuck to my food plan yesterday and resisted the late night munchies by applying Lindy's go to bed early strategy : )

neesy - you are doing great! I like the idea of keeping your progress a surprise for your hubby - how fun!

Have a great day, girls!!

Neesy_20 09-02-2009 12:43 PM

Lindy-:carrot::dancer::cp::cb: YAY! That is awesome! Size 10! WOW. I may have to try this cleanse. haha. You are doing great.

AJ- You will get back on track. It's hard when you're not at home or in a routine. Don't get down on yourself. Just coming on here shows you're still in this!

Rayne-YAY! You can be back to your ticker weight by sunday. Kick it into gear girl. You can do this!

Hotsplashes-Hope you feel better

MaddiesMom 09-02-2009 01:34 PM

Hi Ladies:

AJ: Sorry to hear about your grandma-in-law. That is such a tough time. As for "keeping it healthy" on the road: I would do like Dancer suggested and get a mini cooler. I have those blue icepacks that I use everyday for my lunch and they keep everything cold for a long period of time. I've kept yogurt in a cooler with one of those for more than 8 hours and it still stayed cold. Just make smart choices, and you'll be fine: Grilled chicken over a burger, substitute salad/veggie instead of fries. You can do it!

Lindy: Wahoo on a size 10!! What an accomplishment. I don't think I could do a cleanse that strict, but Kudos to you for getting through!

Neesy: Enjoy your mini vacation...with your schedule, you definitely deserve the time off.

I don't know what is wrong with me today, but I am completely ravenous!! I had a sweet & salty bar at 8, a small plate of fruit at 8:45, then I had a yogurt and more fruit at 10:30. Don't know what is going on with me, but I'm sticking through, just heated up my Healthy Choice steamer for lunch. Having that with a banana. I weigh in at WW tomorrow, so it's a light dinner for me (I hope). Then I am going to work out tonight. See what fun cardio workouts Mr. Hott has planned for me.

I'll check in later. How is everyone else doing?
