Hey girls. Just got home from work.. and from cleaning up my dog's mess while I was gone. ew. I got a letter today. He says it's going by much faster and he made some friends. so, yay for a good letter. I'm more focused than ever. I sooooo want this. 8 weeks and 16 pounds. I can do this. That's very reasonable. I have been working out 40-45 minutes on my off days. I haven't worked out on the days that I work. Just too exhausted. Plus I ran up and down 9 flights today because I was code responder. I figure that was my exercise. haha.

I'll catch up more this weekend when I'm off. Another sunday inching closer! Wow.. time really is flying by. I'm so glad

dancerindenver 08-28-2009 09:24 AM

Neesy - you are doing so well! I'm glad you have something so productive to focus on while you're husband is away - I think it will make the time go much more quickly. Can't wait to see your loss on Sunday!

AJ - 130 by xmas sounds pretty awesome, doesn't it? And in a weird way it's nice to have a buddy who for a change isn't focused on the strength training side. Maybe someday for us, right? Whatever plan or program you pick, we'll support you all day long. I just want to make sure no one had the impression I was trying to get them to do anything different than what they were already doing - that wasn't my intention at all. I was just sharing as sometimes when we pool ideas we get somewhere. My original labor day schedule was basically copied and modified from another girl on the labor day challenge thread. When she posted her goals, I thought - wow, I'm going to give that a shot.

mygrits - did you make it swimming after all? Enquiring minds want to know : )

dancerindenver 08-28-2009 09:26 AM

Oops - hit submit before I meant to.

lindy - hope things went well with grandma and the snack bar : )

hotsplashes - you are a hoot, woman! Love the great stories and the mounted officer - too funny! And major happy dance about the loss - you are doing great!!!!

TGIF, girls!

luckylindy 08-28-2009 10:18 AM

Neesy - so happy to hear the good letter. Ya know what is funny, I do the stair climber at the gym and yes, it kicks my butt, but no where near as bad as regular stairs at my job. I always end up huffing and puffing after, lol. So yes....I would say you had a GREAT workout.

AJ - we waste so much freakin money on diet and exercise things...dont we? I think the only way to be succesful is to do the balance diet thing and not the fad diets...ya know. Its hard though, you just want to try whatever it takes to get the weight going (off).

Dance- well, I did something KINDA smart. I ended up going to my aunts house who is right around the corner and eating dinner with her after I dropped off my Grandma. I had grilled chicken and steamed veggies with no butter or salt BUT I also had blue chips with guacamole. NOW, I know guac is a "good fat" but Im pretty sure with all I consumed...no so much, lol.

I feel heavy today and the scale reflected it; it was 187 today! And even worst...Im pretty sure its not water weight. :( Ill get back on track on Saturday. I need to go to the farmers market because I really dont have anything healthy in my fridge. Im not eating terrible, Im mean...not perfect but certainly not 3500 calories to cause a pound of weight gain so Im not sure what gives. grrr....

dancerindenver 08-28-2009 10:50 AM

Lindy - no way did some guac and chips send the scale up like that with real weight gain! Not unless you had gallons of it : ) You're probably retaining water from the salty chips or something - I'm sure it will come back off by Sunday.

I'm feeling majorly lazy today but need to go for a run to stay on schedule. I'm just going to shoot for 30min today but I so have a case of the 'I don't wannas'. Bummer...

mygritsconfessions 08-28-2009 12:41 PM

AJ - Hey, I am sorry I left my comment and answer off to you last night when I wrote, I swear I am 'losing it.' lol......Anyway, I think your smart to wait for the cleanse until life calms down and you are focused. I also think your smart trying it for 4 days initially. My husband didn't do it until he knew he didn't have any commitments and could just focus on his health, plus be close to home. Oh, moving, yes, we haven't wanted for years to move out of Florida, but couldn't due to carrying for my father-in-law. He passed last summer, and we planned on moving in February, but losing our two businesses do to the economy and all, it just hasn't happened. We still want to move to Georgia or the NC, and hopefully can do that sometime in the future. ;-)

Neesy - Awwww, I am so happy for you! I know how exciting it must be to get a letter and then have it be a positive letter. I remember when Alina would write, I would just cry and then smile, knowing she found 'her place' in life. I also am so proud of your accomplishments with your health - Wow, you have raised the bar for us! LOL........... Congrates!

Lindy - No way you have gained that, it could be stress, and like Dance said the salty chips. Stress can affect weightloss. I am sure it will move right back down by Sunday. I am glad you had a nice evening at your Aunts house ;-)

Dance - I too am feeling a little lazy today, but need to get busy, as I have alot I want to do. That would be great if you hit the 170's this Sunday!

Well, I haven't done anything today, but will when I am done writing here. I did swim last night, but not for long as the rains came and dang were those rain drops cold! LOL........The pool too wasn't very warm, which surprised us. I weighed today, and no change, but we will see what tomorrow brings, as I do plan on working out later today.

Take care guys, will peek in later.

luckylindy 08-28-2009 01:46 PM

Mygrits - yay for you getting out there and swimming, something is always better than nothing.

Ok...have to do the walk of shame. Its that time of the year girls, that time that I dread more than anything...nooooo, not Halloween, noooooo, not football season...ALL YOU CAN EAT SHRUMP AT REDLOBSTER!!!NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Rats, foiled again. I gave in at lunch and ate...A LOT. I ate to the point where I felt physically ill. I had 2 orders of fried shrimp, 2 orders of coconut shrimp, 2 orders of shrimp scampi, 2 glasses of Dr. Pepper, 3 biscuits and a caesar salad....FOR LUNCH! Wow, I am totally going to have to take it easy today with my food, although...the thought of even consuming more food at this point makes me nauseated beyond belief. I had to get this out of my system. I broke things off with "Mr. not so sweet 16", lol...and he hasnt stopped calling me. He keeps calling every freakin other hour, apologizing...I didnt elaborate as to what happened with us, so let me just explain as we are all mature woman...guy and girl like each other, guy and girl have quiet time in a house by themselves (daughter at school)...guy and girl get hot and heavy...girl puts brakes on...guy gets upset but SWEARS that everything is fine...but then, after this happens 2 more times, guy leaves for the day! Hmpf....I dont need that crap - AT ALL. You can apologize all you want but your actions speak louder than words. So...ANYWAY...my emotional eating is over and Im ready to truck on. Im going to my Friday night body works class and am super pumped about that. I also did leg weights this morning and 15 minutes on the stair climber...shudder at the thought of the darn stair climber, lol.

Ok...g2g....talk to you later!

mygritsconfessions 08-28-2009 05:49 PM

Hey Lindy - Your lunch sounds delicious.....yummie. I am glad you enjoyed it and yes, you have to get all of it out of your system and move forward. You have done this, sooo congratulations. Time to move on. No regrets. Your also right on with Mr. unsweet 16. He showed his true colors and got caught........for shame and yes, you don't need that added pressure right now. Focus on you and Gab now, that is what's important. I have you have a blast tonight and a fantastic weekend. FOOTBALL SEASON! HOOYA!

Today was spent running errand after errand - mostly paying bills........ugh! Well, atleast they are paid! lol........This weekend is alot of house cleaning and wedding planning. I am doing alright, just ate a whole subway sub - turkey and veggies ......yumm.

mygritsconfessions 08-28-2009 11:24 PM

Morning, girls! (Or should I say 'morning, mygrits?')

Mygrits - Hope you're having a good weekend so far! I noticed you didn't mention anything about a workout - what's your exercise plan for today? Any swimming?

I'm gearing up for a run but am not super psyched about it : ) Then I have a hair appt and the dreaded bachelorette party - yikes!!

We had thai takeout last night - I added extra veggies and substituted brown rice for their white rice so it wasn't too bad.

What's everyone else up to today?

ajowens 08-29-2009 12:33 PM

Hello pretty ladies!

Lindy- I hope you moevd past your nummy lunch. Sorry about Mr. Bitter 16.

Sandy- I hope the planning went well and you are loving seeing your daughter.

Dancer- Where are you guys going?? Shot guns ;) Have fun tonight and enjoy your pampersing. <3

I have decided to get a new computer. So I sold my laptop for 600 to raise extra $ to but a new on this week. I am a mac addict. Anyways, I am not sure how much I will be on with no laptop. I am chearing for you all though!!

Alsotomorrow is my 1 year wedding anniversary so I am excited to be romanced and woo'ed.

luckylindy 08-29-2009 12:59 PM

PRESENT- lol, sorry Mygrits. I had Give Kids The World this morning and tomorrow I just wasnt feeling like doing much after my workout, the Friday class always kills me. Im debating on going to the gym today, I normally dont but Im in the mood, I would actually like to do the sauna too...I just feel like relaxing.

Ill check in later. Hope everyone is having a good day.

mygritsconfessions 08-29-2009 01:04 PM

Hey Dance and AJ,

Dance - I did get my cardio in this morning, however didn't go as far as normal because the heat wave was already hitting. When I got back I vacuum upstairs, the stairs, and downstairs, which is a workout in itself (have to hold the vacuum as I do the stairs and its heavy). Later today, I am planning on a swim, but if that falls through, a workout upstairs. Besides that, grocery shopping in a bit. Have fun tonight, and sorry about the dreaded run this morning, but I guarantee you will feel great afterwards! LOL....

AJ - I hope your not gone too long with the computer switch-out. I do enjoy reading your posts on here. I hope your anniversay wooing is awesome, romantic and memorable. Enjoy ;-)

Lindy - Hey, glad your doing well, and sorry, I forgot about the Give Kids today. You should just relax today, take a hot bath or sauna, and watch a good movie. Just enjoy time with Gab, or yourself ;-)

Well, I hope Lindy, Burgund, Neesy, Tiff, Maddie, Basics and Hotsplashes are doing awesome. We miss you ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

MaddiesMom 08-29-2009 08:44 PM

Wow, it has been a quiet board. Well, here's my weekend thus far:

Last night, pizza for dinner, I don't feel guilty about it, I earned it. I've been eating only 19-20 of my allowed 28 points, so I thought I deserved to splurge a little. Gotta say...it was really good. I made up for it though...went to the gym at 8:00 this morning and was on the dreaded stairclimber for 20 minutes, then the eliptical for 20, then the treadmill for 10.

Today was a bbq for my cousin who will be going to Iraq. He's a marine and volunteered to go. Talk about commitment to his county. So, there was so much food. Hotdogs, brats, burgers, and deep fried turkey, which I have never had before but was really good. So rather than having the dog, brat or burger, I took the white meat turkey and made a pita sandwich with it. Had some fresh veggies and some salads. Nothing too bad. Had 1/2 a cookie that Maddie didn't finish. They had a bunch of deep friers going, but all I had of that was 2 fried mushrooms, 1 mozzarella stick, and 1 onion ring. Not too shabby. I ate this over the course of 4 hours, so I don't feel guilty and I'm not hungry for dinner, so I'm done for the night.

Tomorrow is a playday outside with Madeline. We bought her one of those inflatable bouncer house things, so that's where I'll be all day. Should be lots of fun.

Dance: Have fun at the party. You'll have a blast.

Sandy: Hope you're able to get another small workout in.

Lindy: I'm a sucker for the all you can eat shrimp. Luckily my hubby doesn't like seafood so I never go. That place is a downfall of mine. Glad you went to class and got back on track.

AJ: Hope you get the new computer soon so we can keep up with what's going on with you. I enjoy reading your posts.

Have a great night ladies. Weigh in tomorrow!
