Hi,
I didn't make it back yesterday. I am trying to keep the computer off as much as possible since we are in the middle of a heat wave here and I am trying to do all I can from heating this place more than I have to.

Jacque: Those are fantastic goals. You've worked so hard to get to where you are now. :D

Sandye: Of course your rolling pin scared me, that's why I ran away! LOL at the 11 loaves of bread. I can just imagine what your grocery cart looks like. As for your question: I have the Cuisinart Griddler and I really like it. I wanted one that had removable plates to make cleaning easier (I used to have one without the feature and cleaning was a pain). The only thing is that you have to hand wash the plates so that the non-stick coating lasts longer even though they say they are dishwasher safe.

FSA: Sorry to hear about TOM, I hope he leaves you alone soon. I am not big on taking meds, but sometimes I just have to reach for the Midol, I figure it's better than being miserable for the whole day.

Delphi: Did you go back to bed? If you did, I hope you're getting a good rest hun. :woohoo: on the panties with the running. You are my hero!

Susie: Today's a new day a and a new chance to do better than yesterday. You can do it.

Ang: Sorry to hear that your DD is still not diagnosed. Hopefully you'll get the results soon so that she can start getting better. Congratulations on being a Success Story!

Merose: We all make this thread, so thank you to you too :)

Not much happening here today, going to a BBQ at our friends' house later tonight and I am in charge of the salad. I have to figure out what kind of salad to make that goes well with burgers.

See you later!

Tummy Girl 07-30-2009 01:13 PM

Morning, got a late start trying to figure out my goals!

Mystical - Yay for the move beign over, what a relief, enjoy the new house smell!

Jacque - Thanks, fluke's suck and thankfully this wasn't. I spent a good deal of time this morning reading everyone else's to get ideas for mine too.

Delphi - And you inspire me hun, awwww, let's pause for a sappy moment........that's better. WTF with the closet, it's NOT FRIDAY! You guys are just out of control, looks awesome though. Sweet, another runner, so proud of you! Knees be damned, you did it!

Susie - So proud of you, sticking to that goal, good for you.

NSM - Glad you got your workout in, now go do another one :p

Cmo4 - Yay! Crazy exercise lunatic, join the club!!! You'll be amazed at what you can do if you make yourself do it. I heard one of those quotes yesterday that really stuck with me, it was something like, you're not doing the world any favors by living smaller than you are. It was about how we often don't think we can do these physical things and settle for less than or don't even try something we "think" we can't do. It was one of those moments where I had to stop and think about it and I thought of you reaching like a crazy lady and like doubling your exercise goals for next month. Talk about living out loud! And I'm sure I got this vacation thing figured out now, it's just that I want this yesterday and I know that when I don't control all my food I won't lose at the same rate, it's a much needed lesson in patience. And woohoo on camel toe free workout pants, awesome! And if you have an MP3 you can download a free podcast from itunes with the whole c25k program broken down into weeks and he tells you when to run and walk and there's music and such. I believe his name is robert ulley or something like that, searching itunes will do the trick.

Ms. P - Oh how I love decorating, how old is dh?

FSA - THat's true I haven't done any dancing yet, maybe 4 workouts a day isn't crazy. I'm feeling the same way about TOM too, glad he's here and gone!

Ang - Hang it there sweetie, at least when you find out what it is there will be some light, poor dear, you've both been in my thoughts.

Gotta run, BBL, must do HIIT before I run out of time before lunch.

FullSteamAhead 07-30-2009 02:27 PM

Hi girls.....ty tummygirl : ). NSM have a great time at the cookout

Delphi 07-30-2009 03:19 PM

Tummy ~ Haha! Hey that podcast sounds great, but I don't do Itunes anymore, I wonder if I can find it anywhere else. I think Sandye and I are gonna start tomorrow. I'm really stoked about it. So spent some time on those goals today..eh? Well I'm sure they are good ones. It is a challenge to try to push yourself every month isn't it?

NSM ~ Ah shucks  and you are mine. Have fun at the cookout.

Merose ~ :congrat: and :bravo: on those eleven pounds. I wasn't a regular poster, but like you, I kept up with the thread. Now of course I'm a habitual poster, but I guess I finally couldn't help myself. It's good to have you and know that I am thrilled you will be joining us in the August challenge.

Susie ~ How's the day going?

FSA ~ Hey sweetie  The fair thingy sounds exciting, if you go, have fun. Good to hear your eating has been good as well. :carrot: keep it up.

Ms.P ~ :bravo: darling!

Sandye ~ I was in such a rush this morning and excited about c25k, that I completely forgot to comment on all your other groovy stuff. So bravo on the NSV darling. I've been having the pre-TOM, everything annoys and irriatates me blues today, so I let the boys roam wild and put myself in my room with some tunes and organized my closet. I bagged up all my big clothes and tomorrow they are going to the care center. But three hours later I feel pretty good. Just needed to keep myself busy, or I was gonna snap. I despise the pre TOM stuff, I can deal with the actual thing better than the pre stuff..urg. So anyways, don't you fret, that magic number is there, but with all the pre TOM and TOM stuff, it may take a few days for you to actually see it on the scale, but Sandye you know your there, I know you are there, so just take comfort in that darling. ;)

iDream 07-30-2009 08:32 PM

Good evening girls!

Merose~ :celebrate: Congrats on a great month!! You're right, this group is a wonderful form of inspiration and support! :) I love these ladies! Hope to see you more in August!! :)

FSA~ Yeah the GF Grill has been around so long you're bound to find one you like--I have read that the latest one isn't all that great though--it has removeable plates and because of that doesn't heat evenly, etc. The Cuisinart one I found got really great reviews, so I think I'll have to check it out. :) Thanks, knowing I have until Saturday does help, but I would like to start off August with a loss instead of ending July with a slightly bigger one--call me mental, but I like to start out of the gate running if I can! We'll see...I just need to be patient. ;)

NSM~ Glad to hear you like the Cuisinart! Now, I'm not sure if I got it--do you have the one with removable plates or the one without (sorry, I'm a little confused :o) The one I'm looking at doesn't have removable plates--its the GR-2, but it has 3 different heat settings and supposedly is a great little grill. Hope you're having a great time at the BBQ! What kind of salad did you end up making?

Tummy~ oh good gravy I am soooo glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read your post! 'camel toe free workout pants' :lol3: Bwahahaha! OMGosh that's just too much! And for the record--I never said they were EVER tight in that particular area! ;) Hahahaha! Thanks SOOO much for the podcast tip! I'll have hubby look for it tonight since Delphi talked me into starting it tomorrow! So much for not doing cardio everyday! ;) The quote you mentioned makes me think of the one in my siggy--the song it's from is called 'You Might Die Trying' and it's all about 'the things you never did, cuz you might die trying'--so exactly what you're talking about. Not trying things because you've already made up your mind that you're going to fail if you do. I used to be that way...still am at some things...but I'm working hard to leave that person behind and keep my eyes on the prize--whatever it might be!! ;)

Delphi~ ahh, TOM! Ugh, I hear ya, I hear ya! I swear, it's worse in the mornings isn't it? See, I'm all calm and serene now...but in the mornings--grrrr! Watch out! I wonder if your boys know how sweet you were being to them by shutting yourself up in your room? ;) As for that magic number...I'm not going to stress on it. I mean, like I said, the closer I get to it, the longer it's gunna take to get there--I hate to say I was right, but I was right! ;) Haha Oh well, I'm not going to waste anymore time whining about it. It's not like whining burns any extra calories, so why do it--am I right? Yeah, I am! So, you ready to DO THIS THING tomorrow? I think I'm going to get up extra early, bang out the C25K and then do my ST'ing immediately after. Tomorrow is my upper body ST'ing so it's the longer one (hence the super early wake up). Truth be told, so long as I get the treadmill workout done before the girls wake up, I'm golden. I can always do my ST'ing while they're awake--I just prefer to do it solo. :)

Well girls, not much to report--got in all 128oz and then some, not sure if it's going to do much good though, but, at least I got it in. I also had 2 cups of coffee today--and I think that cranked up the ol' bladder! I swear, I was running to the bathroom all dang day!

Anyway ladies, tomorrow's the last day! Let's make it count!!! Hope everyone had a great day and that you're having a wonderful night!!! I'll catch you all tomorrow! :)

Delphi 07-30-2009 08:46 PM

Sandye ~ Yup, as soon as I put Canaan on the pump at eight, I'm outty five thousand yo. Yeah, I am so not hip enough to even write that, much less say it..but here again, that phrase probably went out in the eighties.

So yeah, I'll probably do the C25k in the morning and save the ST for my mid day workout. I'm uber stoked. Plus I have taken this sabbatical from the treadmill the past month, so it will be a change of pace and something fresh. Did you find a podcast or are you just gonna wing it from the schedule?

Well I have to get my but in gear, take these contacts out, upload my band, transfer the data to my blog and then hook Canaan up...then it's time for bed. :woohoo: It's almost like August starts tomorrow..eh? ;)

I hope you ladies have a groovy evening.

susiemartin 07-30-2009 09:03 PM

Checking in :)
Today was better than yesterday. I'm still not 100% - but doing much better.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll end the month without too much of a gain.

Tummy Girl 07-30-2009 09:55 PM

Delphi- if you PM me your email I can send you the files, they are mpeg4 and you can ignore the itunes. I think they would be a great help. I love thinking of the new goals but with the middle kinda missing from my month it's putting a wrench into my plans. I think I want to try a 10K training program in September since I'm doing 5k already, that would be the logical progression I guess (but it sounds like crazy talk!) and my p90x comes in next week so I will be able to do that a bit b/f we leave but then I can go full steam on that last week of august. Blah! I don't know, I'll figure it out tonight whatever it may be. Have fun in the morning, I'll think of you guys while I'm out on the road! Rock it chickie.

CMo4 - I bettca a little running and your body will be holy crap, fine I'll just lose five pounds then. And for the record I just assumed that since they were tight everywhere...lycra is very unforgiving and I was formally a rather heafty girl so I feel ya, honest, this is the voice of experience talking :)

Susie - Almost there! Just one more day and you're getting better keep it up.

Delphi 07-31-2009 06:09 AM

Good Morning Ladies

Tummy ~ Let me know how you like that P90x. On My Fitness Pal, they have thread after thread dedicated to it, so a lot of people really dig it I guess. I understand about the goals and the gap. I guess that is how I felt about July. Just didn't get off to the best start, and the month still feels incomplete.

Susie ~ Tomorrow WILL be a better day. :carrot:

Well, I need to get my butt in gear this morning ladies. I'll be back later to check in. You ladies have a great day..after all it is FRIDAY! ;)

susiemartin 07-31-2009 06:54 AM

Checking in :)
I'm taking today to re-evaluate.
I'm up 3lbs. from the beginning of July and have lost my motivation.

I'm going to use today to think about commitment and move myself over to the August thread.

It's really hard not to be down ( it's been raining for 3 days) and I feel like I blew off July weight wise.
Which is pretty much what I did.

lookingtobehealthy 07-31-2009 07:15 AM

Hi ladies, congratulations to all of you that have met your goal and to those of you who worked really hard, you all deserve a great big WOOHOO!

I am home after my hernia operation and am too sore to do much exercise, and to be honest not much of an appetite yet.
I think I have lost another 5 pounds since my surgery. I think I am now down to 230.
Thats what happens when you don't eat i guess.
My biggest concern is due to lack of exercise for the next 6 weeks-how much weight will I put on...
Wish me luck, and I hope to see you all in the August thread... I think my goal will be to maintain and not gain anything over 235.. for the month.

As for nutrition...is there anything you should cut out of your diet? Something you should add (like how I always need to amp up my fruits and veggies ;))? I'm sure you'll come up with something before August! :)

Nutrition wise, the only thing I can think of cutting out is alcohol...but that probably won't happen :) Another thing I came up with is maybe trying new foods...which I do when I have the opportunity, but I could say, try 3 new foods a week...or something like that. And make it a point to search out new things instead of just when it is presented to me.

Go for the violet!!! You will love it!!! Will post my goals tomorrow!!!

:thanks: But we ALWAYS need goals!!! I really need to think about how I will do it this month!!!

iDream 07-31-2009 08:45 AM

Gooooooood morrrrrrrrrning Chickies!!! :carrot:

It's FRIDAY!!! It's the last day of the month!!! I want to hear from everyone, so let me HEAR you!!!! :D

Delphi~ Hey hun!!! How are you? Did you survive the first day? I gotta tell ya, I was thinking it would be on the easy side since I've been doing 15 sets of intervals with HIIT...boy was I wrong! See, endurance is not my strong suit so I was really surprised when, by the end of the workout I was sweating like crazy! I'm tellin' ya, I think I need to re-evaluate my exercise goals for August! Okay, so one other ? for ya, do you want to make next week the Official First Week of C25k? I know it's sounds dumb, but I'm uber anal too (OCD powers--activate! Form of, a crazy woman!!) and I hate starting a new week at the end of the week--does that make any sense at all? No? Yeah, well, I never said I was sane. :dizzy:  Anyway, I'm going to continue Week One all the way through next week--so 3 more of the same workouts as today and then move on to Week Two after that. :)

Tummy
~ Thanks so much for telling me about the podcast! It was nice not to have to watch the clock when I was running/walking--as I told Delphi, wow! Week One is harder than I thought it would be! I mean, did it, but I got more out of it than I thought I would, kwim? As for the camel toe ( sorry, that still makes me laugh!), I have the unfortunate--or maybe it's fortunate--condition of the post c/section pooch...it tends to push my clothing out and away from that area so camel toes are (thankfully) not usually a worry for me. ;) :D Now how's THAT for TMI? :lol3:

Susie~ Hun, I know how hard it is to get motivated when you've lost the drive. But ya know what? You're on the right path! You're HERE aren't you? You're checking in right? You're holding yourself accountable. That's half the battle right there. When you're ready, you'll do it. Take today to really think about what helps and what hurts your efforts--think about what you want to accomplish in August--if you need to, make your goals small. Sometimes that's all it takes, little baby steps, to get you started--then, before you know it, you're doing things out of habit--not because you have to. Then, you find yourself doing more and more and not even thinking about it. So take today. Make it yours, write out your goals and commit to them. And tomorrow--take a deep breath and get started! It's a sparkly brand new month and anything is possible!!! :D

LTBH
~ hey girlie! Glad to hear you're home and all went well!! Take it easy on yourself and don't rush the healing k? We don't want you doing any damage that would cause you to have to avoid all exercise for a long time right? I think you're goal is a great one! Take this next month to really focus on healing and getting yourself back to 100%. Eat healthy and you should be golden! Take care hun!

Jacque~ Your goals sound great! Nothing like expanding the ol' menu! One thing I must request of you though...if you discover an uber yummy dish...ya gotta share it with us k? Remember, I'm working on expanding my menu too! :D :celebrate: Congrats on staying in the 120's!!! :carrot: That's freakin' awesome!!!!

Well ladies, I'm down a little this morning, but still .2 lbs away from 150. Ahh well, I'm not complaining. I still lost over 10 lbs in July so I'm uber stoked!!! :carrot: So my Official Ending Weight for July is 150.2! Which means any loss I have tomorrow (that is, if I have a loss) will count towards my August goal. :)

I had a horrible night's sleep last night--dang insomnia!!! But, I was up at 6:00 and got my first C25K workout in and then did my upper body ST'ing so I'm good! :D I think today might have to be a slightly higher calorie day, ya know, cuz of the 2 workouts? ;) :D I am definitely re-evaluating my exercise goals...so I'll have to think about it and update them today/tonight.

Well girls, I needed to eat so I put off my shower--so...needless to say, I need a to get my butt in there pronto and freshen up! :) I can't wait to hear from everyone! Let's post our total losses so we can tally them up again!!! Now get out there and make the last day of July a great one!! And don't forget to...

Drink Your Water!!!
:D

Delphi 07-31-2009 09:21 AM

Sandye~ That is perfectly fine with me. That way we start Monday like it was Day One..right? I still need an Mp3 to download so I don't have to count. I had to do mine outside, so I was literally counting seconds in my head, and after the running portions, I'm already breathing heavy, so it was difficult to count. But it was groovy none the less. I found a Mp3, but when I go to download it, it just opens a quick time player and plays it. It's driving me batty. I'd rather listen for a que to run ya know. Only Mp3's are compatible with my cheapy Mp3 player...so I don't know.

Looking ~ Good to see you back.

Jacque ~ Yeah, I think I will. A light lavender or melon...I'm undecided.

iamren 07-31-2009 10:35 AM

I didn't meet my goal, but am happy to report an 8lb loss for the month of July. =)

Looking2bhealthy, welcome back. You must be releived to have the surgery over with. Wishing you a very speedy recovery. I doubt the temp. lack of ex. will affect your weight-loss much as long as you continue to eat healthy. Keep as you are and when the docs give you the go ahead to be able to do certain things u can take it from there. Congrats on all of your successess this month. I hope your feeling better

Delphi 07-31-2009 10:47 AM

Susie ~ What is your biggest trouble area at the moment? Is it eating or exercise?

FSA ~ Hey sweetie.

iamren ~ :congrat: on those eight pounds. That is a great accomplishment indeed darling. :)

FullSteamAhead 07-31-2009 11:11 AM

Iamren...........congratulationssss on the 8lb. loss :carrot::carrot::cheer2::cheer2::cheer3::congrat: That's a fantastic loss and a great way to start the weekend.

Delphi,,,,, hey you! :) Happy Friday girl

Late to the game 07-31-2009 11:31 AM

Good morning, chickies!

I am off today, but I will be running a months worth of errands and getting ready to head out, so I don't have time for personals. I haven't posted in two days and I missed a lot!

:carrot: to all of you who stayed OP. To those of you who had setbacks, don't give up, Tomorrow we start fresh. :flow1:

My goal this month was 7-10 lbs, I actually thought I'd make 10, since I used to be able to lose 4-5 this first week of a diet. Not so anymore :( But I'm down 7.6 and I'm not complaining! Last night I walked 48 minutes on the treadmill (that's a lot for me). I had a small NSV on Wednesday. I fit into an outfit I hadn't worn for a while (the top showed my fat rolls). I actually thought I looked pretty good (this is RARE). Anyway, I get to work and the first person I saw said that my top was cute, then that my hair was cute. That I looked cute. Now, I'm a 53 year old fat grandma, and cute is no way to describe me. But hey, I'll take it! A little while later someone else said I looked "cute" and asked if I'd lost weight woo hoo! A third person said I looked really good too. Needless to say it made my day. I got home and didn't think I looked as cute as I did when I left for work, but I had my daughter take a picture anyway. No, I definitely did not look cute!

Hope you ladies have a wonderful Friday, and for those of you in the Pacific Northwest, I hope you get some relief soon!:hot:

Tummy Girl 07-31-2009 11:37 AM

Morning Ladies,

Delphi - I've watched some of the youtube b/f and a/f and it's pretty crazy so I'm looking forward to it if only for the change. Once I'm done HIIT that elliptical needs a time out or I'm gonna poke out my eyes repeatedly.

Susie - You've lost 18lbs! That's an accomplishment, give yourself credit and forgive yourself July, these things are only regretable when we let them derail us, everyone has their own path to take and yours just has a month break in the middle, no biggie. I agree with Sandye, write down those goals, or even all the advantages of losing weight and read them again and again. Small changes will add up over time and you're worth every degree of effort!

LTBH - Glad to hear the surgery went well, that's always a relief when those things are over. Surgery has that awesome weight loss effect, much like a nasty flu but whatever it takes! Take it easy and you'll be back at her in no time. And you won't gain if you eat at your resting metabolism, just keep tracking that food and you'll be fine.

CMo4 - You're very welcome, I'm using week 9 right now for my runs and sometimes I just switch at the end and run a little longer to my own music. It's soo nice not to have to look at my watch, and where's a HIIT podcast when you need one? Post c/section pooch, yes I have one too, and is it possible to have two of them with only one child? Cuz I'm sure there's a whole bunch of pooches or pouches down there, I'm sure to be part kangaroo when this is done. Woohoo on the panties:yay: and since you're so small those would be nice bikini panties too, good for you hun! Congrats on a hard earned 10lbs this month.

iamren - Congrats on the 8lbs and you're almost at 40lbs lost too!

FSA - thanks for helping out with the list, you're fantastic!

You know when a challenge means a bit too much? When you're down a pound to 185 and you wish it waited until tomorrow  No worries though, I gave my head a shake and realized , guess who's not obese, that's right, this girl right here!!! Just plain old overweight now, how sweet it is. But what's even more amazing, that's 14lbs in July, like holy crap batman that's nutty buddy. But I'm eating lots and sweating tons so it's all good.

But sadly that episode with cardio kickboxing last night kept me up until 3:30am! Ugh, so I decided not to get up at 6am and run today and switch my days around maybe run tomorrow or switch my day off this week to make up for it, then I realized heck no, let's just run at dd's nap time. This is an insane thought b/c there are cars on my road who might see me at that time of day but caution to the wind ladies, this no longer obese butt is going giggle her way to a 5k this afternoon instead and I feel just ducky about it.

Now for those goals again...

Delphi 07-31-2009 12:47 PM

That's awesome Tummy! And I know how you feel about the wishing that pound would have waited just one more day. That's how it goes I suppose. But hey, take it and run with it girlfriend.

LTTG ~ Sounds like you are being too hard on yourself love. Let the compliments flow freely. That is your reward for working sooooo hard. Glad to see you back.

FullSteamAhead 07-31-2009 01:21 PM

Hey girlsss :)

Tummy..............wow girl...that is fantastic!!!!!!! :carrot::carrot::carrot: Congratssssssssssss on entering a new category : ).

Late to the game....congrats as well. I think that's terrific. I agree with Delphi. Happy friday to you too :)

Girls, I feel so much better!! I don't even care that it's pouring out, I'm catching up with all the things I wasn't able to do the past few days...stuff around the house and particularly me! I just did my hair and oh it feels good and a full body moisturizing ( I was doing it every other day or so until a month or two ago). I have more to catch up on here and also want to do that mani and pedi and start our new month feeling fresh and good!

I have been doing a lot of thinking and am mentally preparing. I was doing very well with many things until recent summer months and regardless of the reason/s I am through floundering around! TIme to get back to business and re-instate all of the things I started swaying form. Daily or every other day bod moisturizing, strictly planned meals, food cut off times at night, consistent posting of minutes on ex. thread, journaling again, vitamins, planned schedules! That's about the scoop on me chicks....you girls have set a wonderful example! Summer or no summer....you have kept on truckin' through events, vaca's, personal or stressful situations, trials and tribulations, etc.!!! Wishing you all another fantastic happy and healthy new month and to those who may be struggling...keep on truckin'. Onto our new day tomorrow :).

Please remember, we do not fail unless we give up and if at first you don't succeed, try try again!......so let's keep moving forward. Oh boy,,, it's thundering now! my poor pup. Catch you soon girls....

nellonello 07-31-2009 01:40 PM

Well, I didn't make either of my goals this month but I am 5 lbs down which is worth celebrating. See you all in August.

iDream 07-31-2009 01:43 PM

Afternoon ladies!

Delphi~ :yay: So glad you'll be 'restarting' with me on Monday! Short of a stopwatch I don't know how I'd keep track of the running and rest periods man, so I'm glad I had the podcast. Now, with that said, I did run inside, so I could have used the clock on my treadmill. ;) Hubby had a hard time getting anything but the 9 Wk podcast on the iPod--he eventually got it, but I don't know how. Let me know if you still have problems getting it and I'll ask him how he did it k? I'm not computer savvy at all so all I know is that he saved the file to the desktop and click, click, wait, wait, click, click--he got it on there. When you do get it figured out, beware--when it's time for the 2nd bit of running--he doesn't ever say 'Go' ;) it took me a few seconds before I realized he wasn't going to say it and that I was supposed to be running! Every other time, he says it though. ;)

iamren~ :celebrate: Congrats on a such a great loss for July!! I hope we see you in August!!! :)

FSA~ I hope you're feeling 100% better today and that you're no longer laid up hun! Thanks again for starting up the new threads and for updating the lists! :)

Mom~ Knock it off. You are not old!!! And yes, you are a Grandma but you're still CUTE! And before this is over you'll be back to your HAWT do'able self!!! (and you KNOW what I'm talkin' about! ;)) So take Delphi's advice and stop being so hard on yourself! Now that I've chewed you out (*sorry Mommy! Don't beat me k? :D*), :celebrate: Congrats on the 7.6 lbs gone forever!!! I'd say you did an awesome job this month! Now, have you gone and put up your exercise goals on the Aug thread yet? Hmm? If not, get on over there and post 'em!!! :) Hope you're enjoying your day off! Stay cool!!!

Tummy~ congrats on another lb lost!!! Even if it isn't perfectly timed ;) Don't fret, if I know you, you'll drop another 10+ this month! Holy schmoly--14 lbs this month! You're the incredible shrinking woman you are!!! What an amazing job you did this month--and when you factor in the Girls' Weekend to boot--Wooooeee! That's crazy good! I totally agree btw, about the HIIT podcast! Man do they ever need them! I swear, sometimes it took my whole workout just to figure out how many I had left or how many I'd already done! "okay, so I've been doing this for 12 mins and 22 seconds...how many intervals is that? 5 min warm up + 1, 2, 3, 4...argh! I gotta run again...okay...*puff* where was I...AcK!"

Well, nothing too exciting going on here. Contemplating a 2nd cup of coffee, but I'm wondering it that is part of why I was having trouble sleeping last night? I dunno, but I tell ya what, I'm T I R E D !!!

Got the house tidied up and now I can breathe a bit easier. It's a gorgeous day out and we're all in the house...the boy' Favorite Grandmother was generous enough to send a giant box of some much coveted Legos for the boys...and needless to say, they are thrilled beyond words and quite occupied. :D (Thanks again Mom!!!)

Hubby's supposed to be late tonight--so I'm making dinner for just the kids and I. Not sure what I'm making, but I think it'll be something light. Getting a late start this morning knocked my eating schedule all off kilter and I just finished my lunch at 1:30...I don't even know if I'm going to be hungry at 5-5:30...we'll see.

Well, I'm outta here. I need to keep moving so I don't fall asleep! ;) Hope everyone is having a fantastic day!!!!!

iDream 07-31-2009 01:52 PM

Nello~ 5 lbs gone is certainly worth celebrating!!! :celebrate: Glad to hear you'll be hangin' with us in August!!!!

FSA~ so glad you hear you're feeling better!!! :carrot: You sound like you are rip, rarin' and ready to go for August! You sounds like you have all of your bases covered and everything set in place for a great month! I really like that you're including some pampering in there--I never seem to moisturize my body--ever! And my feet...good gracious! It's a wonder I can walk let alone run--they're always dry and cracked and miserable. :( Anyway, I think I've just added another goal to my list! Daily moisturizing of my feet! :D

Delphi 07-31-2009 02:41 PM

Glad to hear you are feeling better FSA and Nello, five pounds is indeed something worth celebrating. :bravo:

Sandye ~ Yeah Tummy sent me some mp3's and like I told her. The great thing about being a geek, is that I know plenty of geeks. I consulted my geek squad of gamers and had me a billion solutions to the simplest problem. I love em boys though, they are awesome.

Well one of those geeks, sent me three mixes this morning. Oh my gosh, what a difference that made during ST today. It carried me through the entire hour or so and definitely spiced it up a little bit...Oh and I didn't mention this earlier but last night I cut about four inches off my hair. Of course no one would notice but me and the boys, because it was so long before, but now it's about at my bra line..it wasn't much but it was something you know?

Also, in my quest to integrate gaming back into my life, I have decided to pick up Rock Band 2 tomorrow. Like I told my friend, it's more so because I know it will keep me on my feet, as opposed to sitting on my arse with a controller. So I'm gonna try that out and see how that goes as well. Plus my Mic's for LIPS are compatible with Rock Band 2, so I wont have to worry about that. Which is neato beave! Alright ladies I'm off. My body is sore and I have to go feed Canaan. I hope you all are having a great day thus far.

Tummy Girl 07-31-2009 03:09 PM

LTTG - Ok I had to laugh at the 53 year old fat grandma part just cuz it sounds like something we all say in our heads but it's not true! I know this for sure b/c I'm two inches shorter, 5 pounds heavier and happen to be smokin' hot (today :)) So just remember to love the skin you're in chickie, and woohoo on 7.6!!

Delphi - I'm running honest, I dropped that pound and sprinted away from it like it was on fire, not gonna catch me neener, neener. Me love some rock band! I'm all about the drums and alas that involes the good old butt! I guess if I wail on it hard enough it might work my arms for about a second though.

FSA - Thanks hun, it's super awesome, nice way to end the month! And glad to see you've recommited to yourself, it gets tough but we're all tougher and when we expect more, we get more.

Nellonello - Congrats on the 5lbs!

CMo4 - LOL that's exactly what I do, then I figured out that I could stick a posty note on the elliptical with all the times, much better, I still sprint too long or miss start times though. that's why my times are usually longer than 20 minutes, I keep screwing up. It's also hard to read the darn thing with all the sweat in my eyes. I might need an Olivia Newton John headband soon.

Finished some weights and gonna wait about 30 minutes more before running to let lunch settle completely. It's a bit more toasty than my normal morning runs so a nice sweat might be in order. I don't know what happened to my house today but a bomb went off in here, it's taken most of the morning to make it not be a health hazard, how does this happen so quickly.

Days half over (and more so for some), if you haven't worked out, get going ladies!

Delphi 07-31-2009 04:18 PM

Headbands are soooooooo cool Tummy! You just need the leg warmers and some bow chica wow wow music and you will be set. Don't try to hide that CD, you know you have some of that 70's porn star music at your disposal. lmao! Oh great, now I have that tune stuck in my head. I've got all my work outs in and as soon as Between the Lions goes off, I'm gonna pop in some DDR or LIPS...then my evening will be spent playing World at War with the boys. And I just uploaded my band...I burned almost 400 calories doing the C25k this morning...in thirty minutes...I was like daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang! Good stuff. I'm so pumped about doing it!

iDream 07-31-2009 04:27 PM

"Let's get physical, physical, I wanna get physical, let me your body talk..."

:lol3: Oh I was an Olivia Newton John groupie! I loved her music!!!! :)

Tummy~ if you ever get a headband you gotta take a pic of you wearing it and make it your avatar!!! Bwahaha! Oh I love it!!!

Delphi~ Awww, look at you all stoked about the C25K! Aren't you glad I begged like a little kid wanting candy at the checkout for you to do it with me? :D  Have I mentioned how glad I am you said yes! :) As for music--I totally need some good workout music!! Any recommendations? I do have hubby's iPod at my disposal! ;)

Well girls, I'm trying out a new recipes tonight (why didn't I wait until tomorrow and make it count towards my Aug goals? ;) I'll let you know how it turns out...gotta go cook up some chicken!!!!

Delphi 07-31-2009 04:30 PM

I'll send that mix one via email. It's like 80's, mixed with new stuff...but it's awesome and I usually don't dig those mixed songs at all..but this one is great..and free. ;)

FullSteamAhead 07-31-2009 05:18 PM

Hey chicks :)

Nelloooooooooo... congratulations on the 5 lb. lossssss! :carrot::carrot::carrot: wtg!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words ladies  I'm happy because this month no TOM at all until the end.........that rocks for me! Tummy what you said is so true.......I was much more strict with myself before and sort of said ah it's summer etc etc. and funny you mentioned that because I was thinking of that this morning!!!!!!! how I need to set the bar...or reset that bar as I had cut myself much too much slack. Yesssssss....I'm rearing and ready to go and I am excited! Thanks again you rockin' smoking chicks! lol :).

The only time I workout to music is when and if I do wii or ex. t.v. When I start up the treadmill again...I'm doing music to it. All of my mags have these song suggestions for working out too. Ohhhhhh, I'll see if I can find those backissues ....they recommended a lot of them but then again I suppose we all know what music revsssss our engine! Chat soon :)

iDream 07-31-2009 05:35 PM

Thanks Delphi! I got your email--I'll have to check it out in a bit! :)

FSA~ see, that's just it, I know what songs I like, but if I tried to remember the artist or the title of the song I'd draw a total blank. So, if ya find those recommendations...it sure would help the memory impaired girls like myself. ;) As for cutting yourself too much slack--honey you say the word and I'll bust out my :rollpin: anytime you need it! :D

Hey, guess what? Turns out I can follow a recipe and even improvise a little and have it come out pretty darn good! And here's shocking news! It turns out that eating tomatoes will not render me a quivering, convulsing blob on the floor! Huh...who'd have thought? Granted, they were semi-cooked tomatoes, but they were still tomatoes! (Eeeew!) Mom, aren't you ever so proud of me? :D Hey, maybe I am your daughter after all! ;)

susiemartin 07-31-2009 08:13 PM

Checking in :)
Not the best day.

Tomorrow starts a new month.
The sooner I put July behind me the better :dizzy:

Ms Perception 07-31-2009 09:28 PM

Just a last quick hello before I switch over to August. Hope you all had a great last day of the month.

P.S. Sandye-The cheesecake was DELICIOUS!!!!!

Tummy Girl 07-31-2009 11:22 PM

Wonder if I get to close off the thread this month, only one way to find out.

Delphi - this running thing is awesome I tell ya, right now, for 30 minutes straight run it's from 750-800 calories! I try to keep my HR 85-90, wicked burn! And yes, there is porn music at my house, I believe I also have some Shaft ;) If you're giving away mixes chickie then please pass it along! Anything to get through another workout laughing would be great.

Cmo4 - I promise to look for one awesome rockin' headband. If anyone knows any good stores for retro workout gear, send em my way. Enjoy your chicken, I had this awesome salad yesterday for lunch and I sooo thought of you, it had olive oil and avocados, healthy fat! It was the most filling thing I think I've ever eaten, maybe 12g of fiber I think. Gotta love those new recipes, would have never tried that before. Have you had a tramatic tomato experience as a child?

FSA - A version of that quote is stuck to my bathroom mirror right now, it says you will only get as much as you expect of yourself. It's what I read every time I pee and goodness knows I do that a lot! I have some of those mix lists too, I should go hunt up some back issues, thanks for the idea!

Susie - Onto August, and bigger and better things (or better and smaller, that is more fitting)

Ms P -

Night all and a close to a wonderful month!

canadianangel 07-31-2009 11:51 PM

Late to the game 08-01-2009 01:08 AM

Hi girlies.

TUMMY ~ No, there was no tomato trauma in Sandye's childhood! I was a very picky eater as a child and did not force my kids to eat anything, although I probably should have! I KNOW your 2 fewer inches and 5 more lbs look much hotter on you than on me. There's something about weight distibution when you age that is not pretty! Better you nip that in the bud :) Congrats on entering overweight-ville!:carrot:

MSP ~ Glad that cheesecake was everything you wanted to be!

SUSIE ~ Come on girl, pick yourself up. Tomorrow is a new day and a new month. Let's go!:cheer:

FSA ~ Music is the only thing that gets me through my boring cario. It helps with my ST too.:hyper:

DELPHI ~ I sure would notice if your hair was cut to your bra strap! It seems like it was much longer than that and four inches would not take it that short. I wish I could get away with the long, straight, parted in the middle hair. That was my do for decades, child of the 60s that I am, but when I see women my age with hair like that, I cringe.

NELLO ~ Woo hoo on the five lbs! :carrot:Is it any cooler there?:hot:

LOOKING ~ Take it easy on yourself. You need to heal. You'll be back in the game soon.:getwell:

JACQUEE ~ LOL on the alcohol. I would find it difficult to give up my wine. Although with my glucose issues, I may have to. I have not had much lately.

ANGEL ~ You have been through much stress yet your weight is at its lowest! You are amazing! I hope next month is better for you and your DD.

SANDYE ~ :hug:Yes, I am so proud of you for your progress in tomatoville  I'm telling ya, have a home grown fresh one, and you will be hooked. Better yet, have a home grown fresh one with fresh mozarella, fresh basil, drizzed with a little balsamic and olive oil, mmmmm. Taste bud heaven! :cloud9: So which chicken recipe did you try? Was it from the new Cooking Light cookbook? LOL on the "doable" coment. Although after ten years, even if I get back down to 145, when I was deemed "doable" ( I love that man!), the gods have not been kind to the face ala wrinkles and bags under the eyes! I am so glad the boys loved the Legos. I'll send another few hundred pieces soon. And no, I won't beat you, OR make you eat your veggies! That's on you now!

Well, this is it. My first month with you awesome ladies. Thank you so much for welcoming me and for all of the encouraging words. I feel so lucky that all of you young chickies accept this old broad! I checked the over 50 forums, and though they seem nice, they don't post much! No rolling pins there, and I kinda need that :) Yikes! I hate when older people try to act young, and I don't want to be perceived that way. But it is just so much fun hanging out with you girls! On one hand, I am grateful that I have lived and learned so much, and I really do not want to be 20 or 30 again. One of the great things about aging is the wisdom we acquire, and another is that we realize that no one really cares how we look! In fact, we become invisible, which at first is alarming, but not so bad when you get used to it! Anyway, thanks for everything. See you next month! Oh! I almost forgot! I got my hair cut today, and I hate it! Oh well, no one looks at old ladies anyway!
