WI wasn't as bad as I'd prepared for. My WW buddy who is the reason we went camping this weekend was up a lot more than I was, but she drank a lot more than I did. The sad part is that my WW gain for the last 2 weeks is now 2 pounds! I'd only lost 3.6 before that, so after 6 weeks, I'm only down 1.6 pounds! Boo!

Anyway, as this is the EXERCISE thread, I'll quit complaining. I got in my exercise before WW with 1 mile on the treadmill and 45 minutes of strength training. I was hoping to get in some extra walking today since my WW buddy and I had been walking the church parking lot after WI, but she hasn't felt like it the last two weeks plus my husband was in the parking lot waiting for us. (After WW, we do dinner with my buddy and her b/f, but they live on the other side of town so sometimes we meet up to only take one car to bufu.)

I'm already ready for tomorrow even though I'm paranoid it'll fall through. The husband has agreed to try going to the gym with me which means I won't go on the way home from work but will meet him at the other location on his way home. I will kick him if he backs out, damnit!

Hey Ladies!!! Great first day! I'm so impressed with all your workouts!!

I walked about 5.2 miles today, so hopefully that's a good first step towards being back on track. I'm aiming at running tomorrow, and maybe playing some tennis. Anybody else following the French Open??

Anyways, let's keep the strong start to June going!

Jacqui_D 06-02-2009 01:09 AM

:welcome: Leigh, Startinmonday, and Babes!! Glad you decided to join us!! I've added you to the list! Good luck!!

FSA, yes, so true, the same meals can get boring! I think I must have pretty bland taste buds, though, because I can stick with the same foods for a long time. Why, I rarely even salt food to spice it up! I add a little salt to eggs and rice and sometimes potatoes (oh and grits, when I was eating them), but that's about it! (Needless to say my sodium's always low when it's tested!) But even I like to switch things up and add a little variety sometimes!

Joci, good luck on your new plan! :jig: :D

Pas, oh I could so easily have 8 cats, if only my DH would cooperate! He'll only agree to two though. Someday! Lol! :D

Lewis, oh how I wish I could go with you in January! It's sounds heavenly! Yes, the name Great Dane is actually a misnomer. They aren't Danish at all. They're German mastiffs. The American Kennel Club lists both names.

GypsyRose, way to stay on top of your schedule and get those miles in!! Good job!! :cp:

Glutio, great job getting your exercise in! I am keeping my fingers :crossed: for you that your husband will follow through tomorrow! But if he doesn't, you just get your exercise in anyway! Just do it for you!! :cheer:

Ican, I can never help but chuckle at your "easy" days, lol! They kick my hard days' butts, lol!! Way to get back on track, girl! :trampo:

Yes, BC is Tues/Thurs/Fri. I like that my workouts are varied. Everyday it is something else. I haven't gotten bored. As a matter of fact, my brother has those PX90 DVDs (I think that's what they are called), It's the workout you do for 90 days....anyway, he is going to let me borrow them after the summer so I will really be switching things up.

Daily Progress

Week 1

June 1 ~ 60 minutes on treadmill [45 minutes strength training]
June 2 ~ 60 minutes w/My Fitness Coach [cardio] [20 minutes Wii Fit]

iDream 06-02-2009 08:08 AM

Good morning all!

June 1st ~ Upper Body Strength Training
June 2nd ~ Day one of HIIT program

I didn't look like too much of a drunk this morning ;), but I can't help but feel like I didn't give it all. Mainly because at one point my heart started beating like mad (something it does from time to time--which I've mentioned to my dr. and he doesn't seem worried--said sometimes that just happens. Didn't want anyone to get worried or anything ;)) and I had to stop and take some deep relaxing breaths until it went back to normal. Silly heart, doesn't it know I'm exercising to make it healthier?! Sheesh! And that's how it thanks me...geez! ;)

Hope you all have a wonderful day! :)

Exercise Goals

I was a cardio freak until my knee went in October, and i have slowly been trying new things out.

I began doing Pilates and I go twice a week for 90 minutes a time. I also row and bike in the gym for about 40 minutes a time. And I am about to bring swimming back into the picture -- I think I have to start that at about 30 minutes a time for this month... SO...

MY GOALS ARE: PILATES: 180 minutes a week, SWIMMING: 60 MINUTES A WEEK, CARDIO ON ROWER AND BIKE:120 MINUTES A WEEK.

I JUST JOINED THE WEIGHT THREAD COMPANION LIST...JUST STARTED A MONTH OF ATKINS INDUCTION.

lumifan4ever 06-02-2009 08:23 AM

Wow!!! Only the 2nd day of JUne and look what page we're on....wow!! lol.

June 1st- 1 hour of Power Pilates Kickboxing
June 2nd- (1 hour Power Pilates Kickboxing, 1 hour treadmill/elliptical, 1 hour Pilates Fusion....well...that's the plan...we'll see)

Jacqui_D 06-02-2009 09:46 AM

RubyJan, welcome! I've added you to the list! I'm so glad you decided to join us here too! Between Atkins and all this great exercise, that weight can't help but come off!! Good for you taking control! :cheer3::cheer2::cheer3:

Ican, love the new avatar pic! It's so artistic with its monochromatic color and off-centeredness! My niece is a professional photographer and it looks like a pic she would take! Very nice!!

Lumifan, I know! These monthly threads just fly (on angels' wings)! Occasionally when there used to be a lot of posts to catch up with, I used to open two windows and take them both to the same thread so that I could flip back and forth between them, typing personals in one and scrolling down the other one reading the posts so that I could respond to them, but now I do that every time I come here, lol!! There's no way I'd be able to keep up otherwise! I think it's just great that so many people are actively involved!! I look forward to coming here every time! :carrot:

Joci, GREAT JOB on the :running:!!!! You go girl!! :cp:

CMof4, I'm sure once your heart gets used to the intensity of your new workout, it will jump right on board! :D Pace yourself though!

Delphi, have you eaten today?! I have! What about you CMof4 and Joci? I see in the other thread that Lene has joined our ranks of forgetting-to-eat'ers! Lol! :D

Well, I have to go do personals on the other thread and then I'm off to the Y for strength training! :lifter:

June 1--60 min on recumbent bike

dollypie 06-02-2009 12:51 PM

My goal cardio 30 min 5x a week and strength training 2x a week!

June 1: Treadmill 30 minutes, arms, and abs
June 2: Elliptical 30 minutes, abs

wistfulgirl 06-02-2009 01:43 PM

Happy June 2nd to everybody. I've been at work since 8am, and I just now finished reading all the posts! Amazing work everybody!! [I actually think my boss is ready for me to get some work done, so I'll make it quick.

My monthly goals are:
45 mins. cardio. (mostly treadmill) 5x/week;
+ Strength Training 3x/wk

June 1st no exercise
June 2nd 30 mins. on treadmill (15 more scheduled for this evening with weights afterward).

Good luck to everybody today!

Jacqui_D 06-02-2009 02:49 PM

:welcome: to the exercise thread Wistfulgirl! Glad you joined us! I've added you to the list! Good luck!

Dollypie, you confused me for a minute! Lol! I thought, "Oh oh, did I miss adding Dolly to the list?! Oh wait, there she is! Did she change her goals?" But no, you're just being thorough and restating them! :D

Delphi 06-02-2009 02:55 PM

When I get down two more pounds, I'm changing my avatar picture again. Just a random fact I thought I would throw out there.

At any rate, good job ladies on getting that exercise in...keep up the good work!

Newshinyme 06-02-2009 03:43 PM

Awesome work so far everyone!

Big :welcome: to Leigh, Startinmonday, babes (glad you decided to take the plunge on this one too), RubyJan and wistfulgirl.

Delphi: Turbo Jam is a workout series that you can get of infomercials on TV, it is a lot of cardio with martial arts moves and she has some strength training routine as well. I've tried it, but there is too much jumping and since I live in an apartment, I get worried the neighbours downstairs are getting annoyed at me so I don't use it anymore.

glutio: Good luck with getting the hubby to the gym, hopefully we will not let you down!

CMo4: Hey, at least you survived LOL. I was reading the website on HIIT and the guy said to just do whatever you could handle anyway, so I think you did well with pacing yourself. If your doctor is not worried about the palpitations, maybe your heart just needs time to adjust to this new level of activity. You'll be in top shape before you know it girl!

I just finished my official workout for today. I was thinking about going for a walk later, but honestly, it's too darn hot right now and later I will get busy. Maybe I will add some free step on the Wii later tonight.

June 1: EA Active Workout 22 min. + 30 min free step = 52 min.
June 2: EA Active Workout 24 min.
