So i'm a couple days late, but i'll add it on at the nd. I'm giving up chocolate and diet coke!!!

Thanks for giving me a motivation to stop!

:]Nelli

Ms Perception 02-27-2009 02:05 PM

Congrats everyone on starting out strong! I have found I'm using my time better with being online less. I have worked out more and got more done around the house. It was a good choice for me!!

Cybertyper 02-27-2009 02:46 PM

I'm not buying pop or candy during lent and I'm not going to snack between meals unless it is fruit. I was hungry last night after a meeting until 9 p.m., but a banana did just fine.

Good luck to everyone!

Heffalump 02-27-2009 04:25 PM

Checking in! Man, eating while doing something else is a really, really ingrained habit for me. I'm catching myself almost every day - but then I immediately stop whatever else I'm doing and just sit down and enjoy. Today I put some classical music on during lunch. Eating more slowly is hard as well, but I'm working on it.

Turning off the computer "early" has been great - but it's going to be more of a challenge now because I got a ton of urgent stuff to finish by next week, and I would usually use the evenings to get rid of the overhead. Oh well, today I compensated by *gasp* pretty disciplined working, and I will get in a few hours on Saturday, too.

JasonsLea 02-28-2009 12:08 AM

Ah, soda, you have won this round.

Adding fast food to my list. Try to save some money too along with calories. :)

nicki rose98 02-28-2009 02:18 AM

Stuck to it today. Did my strength without a hitch. Tomorrow comes the toughie. Can I do it?? Yes I can!!

david 02-28-2009 02:41 PM

its 11:30 am and i just got up...im not a lazy lump i got off work at 12:30...i was starving last night because i waited too long to eat...veggie burrito for brunch at 11:00am 1/2 sandwich at 6pm and other 1/2 at 8pm...at midnight i had some red licorice and a payday...probably could have made better choices but i aint trippin

JasonsLea 03-01-2009 01:33 AM

Today was pretty good. No soda, fast food, or snacking at work. And I got a 1 year membership to Bally's at a pretty steep discount. :)

david 03-01-2009 03:48 AM

i sucked today....we had a lady come over to talk about home care for my father in law who has demensia...then i ate wayyyy too much...im kind of disappointed in myself but tomorrow is another day...glad to see others doing so well...have a good night everyone

Heffalump 03-01-2009 12:45 PM

Yesterday I didn't heed the no-distractions rule and had some popcorn with the movie. Otherwise I've been a good girl so far :).

Ms Perception 03-01-2009 04:22 PM

I'm glad for the cut back online. It has helped me get some extras done as well as more reading. Friday I went over my limit due to an unexpected need to take care of some business online. Otherwise, I've been on track!

clarelou 03-01-2009 05:00 PM

hi all.. hope you are all doin well. well iv stuck to my lent challenge so far. no sweets/biscuits/desserts etc. i ate out on saturtday at wagamammas... my friend got this gorgeous white chocolate and ginger cheesecake.... it looked fab.. i louurvve cheesescake. so im pretty impressed with myself for passing on the desserts.
keep going everyone x

JasonsLea 03-01-2009 10:30 PM

Gah! Today all I've done is eat, eat ,eat! I'm trying to figure out what is the matter and I think it may have to do with the power situation. I got a massive tension headache too.

Ditto! So far, I already finished two books that I've been wanting to finish for ages, spent more time with my husband, took out the guitar again... I should make this a permanent habit!

Lori Bell 03-02-2009 10:56 AM

Made it over the weekend 100% on plan. We had a big fundraiser soup supper at Church last night and at one time there must have been 500 desserts at the dessert table...I admit I stood there for awhile drooling over the wonderful looking treats, (all the ladies at our Church are EXCELLENT cooks!). But I kept myself busy clearing tables and filling cracker baskets. I haven't been this good on my "diet" since before Christmas, and it feels pretty darn good!

Ms Perception 03-02-2009 11:34 AM

Ooooh, Lori Bell...I don't know if I would've handled that situation as well as you did! Thankfully, I have not had that kind of temptation since the holidays and I was at the beginning of my "journey", so I handled it better than I would now. All else is well. I'm at a weight standstill, so I'm experimenting with ways to wake my body up. The exercise changes should at least show results in inches, I hope!

nicki rose98 03-02-2009 11:59 AM

So Saturday was fabuloso!!!!! I got up and went to the gym. I tanned and did Body Motion (my strength training) and then I went home and laid my child down for a nap and did 30DS. Woo hoo!!!

Sunday I honestly had no time for a workout. But I waitressed that day which is always full of some heart racing work and I did some "workout" later. If you catch my drift. So I'm counting it!!!!!!

david 03-02-2009 03:35 PM

im so glad this weekend is over...i did so well during the week, but the weekend was bad...my goal this week is to stick to the plan...on saturday were taking my oldest daughter out for her 21st bday...a really nice restaurant in san francisco...my plan then is to eat like i DONT have an eating disorder...i pray that no one else has to deal with someone with dementia...its physically and emotionally exhaustung...that was my vent for the week...looks like everyone else is doing great...jason i find good motivation by looking at peoples before and after pics...have a good day all...this is a great website cuz youre not talking to a counselor who really has no idea how hard it can bee

nicki rose98 03-03-2009 11:28 AM

Did very well Monday too. Did my weights and I also fit in a 30DS that wasnt' scheduled. Not sure why I'm not losing though. But oh well.....

Heffalump 03-03-2009 02:13 PM

I'm getting impatient with eating without distractions - sometimes it's hard not to do something and/or eat faster to get it over with. What the...? And here I thought I was enjoying food... ;)

It's going to get better again once this stressful week is over. Still sticking to my offline evenings and getting so much more good sleep!

david 03-03-2009 03:18 PM

did great yesterday...i think ill weigh myself on wed...even thogh i totally blew the weekend i know ill see positive results

nicki rose98 03-03-2009 10:38 PM

Absolutely NO problem with my no excuses today!!! I met with Clay, a trainer at CG and he gave me a list of exercises. I tanned, did 45 min on the elliptical and 30 min ab routine!!!!

david 03-04-2009 11:54 AM

you guys make me sick...youre all doing so great...last night at 12:30 these maple cookies were calling me....i ate one...actually it was worth it...im trying to eat like a human being...i didnt eat half the pack and i didnt have any milk...we'll see tomorrow when i weigh myself....anyway you are all inspiring me...have a great day

david 03-04-2009 03:25 PM

i forgot today was wed...1 week from ash wed....i went form 258 to 251 in 1 week...i always love the first week cuz i usually put up a big number....this website is really gonna help me...have a great day everyone

Ms Perception 03-04-2009 05:24 PM

Been doing pretty well here with my time restriction online. I am feeling freer and less tied down to always checking messages, etc. I do need to go get a workout in today since I had my cheat meal and feel a little heavy right now.

david 03-05-2009 11:33 AM

you guys are all doing great...so motivated....im still just trying to get by 1 day at a time...did well yesterday...tomorrow is a retirement lunch for a guy at work...i hope they have something w/out meat...saturday were taking our daughter out for her 21st bday....my plan is to have a normal(not diet) meal and not over eat...then back to plan on sunday

nicki rose98 03-05-2009 12:09 PM

Did excellent yesterday! I did strength training and I even went home after my long day and did 30DS!!! Whoop whoop!

david 03-06-2009 01:10 PM

nicki what is 30DS???i need to get motivated...its amazing how much different people look when theyve lost weight...almost a miracle...today is my daughters 21st bday...does that make me old???i hope everyone has a good weekend...supposed to be good weather (finally) in the bay area this weekend...good job everyone

JasonsLea 03-08-2009 04:07 AM

 everyone!

Sorry I've been MIA, I'm being a crappy challenge leader. :( Just alot of personal stuff going on then TOM came Wednesday, wrecking havoc on my WI and my emotions. I'm telling you, if I didn't have military discipline hammered into me by my mother, several people would have died horrific deaths this week! :headache: The last two days have been a pigfest. :ink: Disgusting. My friend Kittie will be arriving tomorrow for her Spring Break. This is like the worst time for her to be visiting me but we haven't seen each other in over a year. Daylight Savings Time just kicked into effect. I'm going to be SO tired tomorrow. :dz:

david 03-08-2009 09:55 PM

I CANT GET GOING!!! its so easy to find reasons to eat....any ideas???Jason sounds like were in the same boat....new week new start

Badgerette 03-08-2009 10:04 PM

I just saw this challenge and starting today I am giving up diet soda and In & Out Burger for the rest of the time.

Ms Perception 03-09-2009 12:44 PM

My computer time has stayed pretty restricted. I can't say I've timed myself, but I'm on a LOT less that I used to be since I stick with just checking the basics. I am at a weight standstill which I'm not udertsnading since I've been eating OP and exercising. I'm going to just keep plugging along and try to get in more fruits/veggies!

30 Day Shred a Jillian Michaels work out DVD. Amazing!!

Well this weekend sucked! I did nothing Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Back on it today though

david 03-10-2009 11:20 AM

welcome badger...nicki, youre tough...i know youll get right back at it....i finally had a good day yesterday....just need to start putting those good days together...were gonna have 24/7 care for my father in law now....that will eliminate a lot of stress in our lives and give us time for ourselves...its a great situation because were not putting him in a home...he gets to stay in the house he built 55 years ago and ill still be able to get him his breakfast and sit with him in the mornings...then i can walk my daughters pitbull...hope everyone has a great day

nicki rose98 03-10-2009 02:40 PM

Thanks david!

I did get back on track. Did my strength yesterday. Today is cardio. I wanted to try the Zumba class at my gym but I'm not sure my car will be ready in time to go. So instead I'll do some videos at home and do my ab routine.

nicki rose98 03-10-2009 09:51 PM

I decided not to do Zumba. The class didn't start till 6pm and I didn't feel like goin home and goin back out there. So I just went in and did the elliptical for 32 minutes. Then I came home and did 30DS and my ab routine!!!!

JasonsLea 03-10-2009 11:21 PM

 everyone!

My friend Kittie arrived Sunday for her Spring Break. The last two days have been a real orgy of eating, with her wanting to cook for me and me wanting to take her out to at least one authentic Mexican restaurant. But it is over and done with. TOM is gone and so is most of our money. So back on plan tomorrow. Thursday, I shall face the music (and the scale! :o) like a woman.

Nicki ~ They have Zumba at my new gym. Is it fun?

clarelou 03-11-2009 10:23 AM

ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this is tougher than i thought. but im proud to say , so far iv had no chocolate, cakes buiscuits or crisps during lent!

keep upthe goodwork people x

I have heard ALOT of people say it is. I didn't get to take it last night. I have only heard good things about it.

david 03-11-2009 02:44 PM
