With me, I do not believe it was a lack of cals...though I thought perhaps it was a lack of carbs. I wasn't eating carbs that week ( I limit my starches etc. because I don't lose with too many of them) and thought perhaps that was what I needed as carbs are needed for energy! I was getting plenty of protein for my muscles but enough good carbs. I ate some turkey sandwiches that week for lunch (whole wheat bread) and felt much better energy wise.
OK, I'm reporting back in. FullSteam, I took your advice (at least I think I did--I'm not yet skilled at identifying "this is a carb, that is not"). The morning after you wrote that, I had raisin bran and a banana for breakfast. The last two mornings, I've changed from 1 piece of 12-grain bread with peanut butter to 2 slices with a skiff of butter and some jam.
I also realized that I was getting kind of "turkey'd out" after the incident where I just could not finish my turkey taco. So I switched back to lean ground beef and have had a couple of burgers made from that (counting all the calories, of course--I'm a calorie counter).
The third thing I did was remove the deadline for my weight loss, which means that I'm no longer an official member of the St. Patrick's Day Challenge. I realized that the goal I had set was stressing me out to the point where all I thought about was how I was going to fail the challenge, be the one who lost the least, etc. So I've removed my ticker.
And lastly, I think I drank 4 beers this week. I hadn't had beer at all since early January but I was in a nurturing mood so I bought some light beer and nurtured myself, LOL.
And.....I'm down 4.2 pounds from my Feb 27th weight, which is where I was stuck. What the.....!? Have I created a new diet, the "cheeseburger and beer" diet?! Anyway, thanks a TON to all of you who have encouraged me. Maybe I'll just be a non-official member of the challenge if that's OK?
Edited to add: I haven't updated my normal ticker to show the loss yet as today isn't my official weigh-in day. But the scales were my friend today!
