I had a great workout today! It was time to add a little more incline on the treadmill. I'm not going to lie to you...it was brutal. But I made it and added another .5 mile to my run! Today's run: 5 miles :encore: (I've never ran 5 miles in my life!!!) Total for challenge: 32 miles lumifan: Don't be soooo hard on yourself! Here's a hug from me to you. :hug: Just try to do a little bit each day. Believe me it adds up! Six weeks ago, 15 mins on the treadmill was torture for me! I've come a LONG way and so can you! |
Yo, yo, yo runners? How are we doing today? I ran a nice 4 miler this morning and felt pretty strong during it.
Total challenge miles: 38 Is everyone doing the 3FC 5k run/walk hosted by EZMONEY this weekend? I hope so!!! :) I'm doing a double since I have a 6 miler on the schedule for Saturday. Great job DC on your first 5 miles, whoo hooo!! I bet that felt great! Lumifan -- you're doing great! Every little bit of mileage is fantastiv and nothing to sneer at!!! Keep up the good work, it is HARD fitting in runs when you are as busy as you are! |

Today is a cross training day for me. :lifter: So most likely I won't be running unless I get an unexpected burst of energy. The next few days are all scheduled run days so maybe I'll just take it easy. Don't want to burnout! Before I forget, I signed up for EZMONEY'S 5k. I plan to run it both days!:D Tyler Durden: Running 5 miles was amazing! For me, it kind of felt like running a marathon. ;) Quick question: I only have 4 weeks left before my 5k. Should I continue to try to increase my distance or work more on interval training at this point? |

Adding two miles today. But I did them with alternating intensity, and no walking! Felt great at the end. And got my kindergartener to school just in time!! total challenge miles 27.75 I'd lke to do a 5k this weekend. There are two close by. But, it is supposed to rain on the day that works for me. And I committed to dog sitting my neighbor's puppy. I'm going to rock out at leat 3.1 mile on the treadmill and call it MY 5k :) |
Hi everybody!!! I took the day off yesterday and actually spent an hour at the gym walking. Well...i walked on the treadmill and got in a mile, I did 2 miles on the elliptical and then i walked the indoor track for a mile. So i got 4 miles in yesterday!!!! Whew who!!! I was so stoked!!! So..that brings my total up to 7 1/2 miles. Yeah...i know it's not much. I am planning on going to the gym tonight if we don't go to my boyfriends parents hosue for dinner. but if we do, i'll definately be going to the gym tomorrow. I didn't get to go for my walk/jog wednesday night because i had to pick my kids up after work, drop them off at their grandparents for the rest of the week, then head to my boyfriends to cook dinner. yeah...by the time that was finished...i was too pooped to think about excersize. lol.

Did 2.25 on treadmill today. Total so far now at 30 miles! That looks so cool on the screen. I feel much more conditioned than when I started at the begining of the month. Today I mostly ran at dif levels holding 2 lb hand weights the whole time. Talk about a pool of sweat! have great day. :):):) |

I just got back from finishing EZMONEY'S 5K. I'm actually kind of exhausted! After running for weeks on the treadmill with music, I was winded and bored to death running in the park. What's up with that??? :?: Oh well, guess I was out of my comfort zone. I'll try again tomorrow with my ipod and see if that helps. total 33.5 I think all this sudafed I'm taking for my allergies is having a very beneficial impact on my workouts. It's a good thing EZmoney does not drug test :D |

I've got cross training (probably cycling today) and a rest day tomorrow, so I won't be running again until Tuesday. We need to keep this thread going past the 50 miles don't you think? I'll hit 50 miles by Wednesday, and I don't wanna see the thread end! |
Hi all. I did not use the subway for tranportation once I arrived at work this morning. I ran 3.2 miles from my first work site to the next and then I walked/ran another 1.8 heading back to Penn Station so I could catch my train back home.
gives me a total of 5 miles for today. which is a good thing b/c I walked into my house smelling, then quickly inhaling half a container of chicken pad thai my nanny had made my kids for dinner. She left it on the counter for me. I'll ask her oh so sweetly not to do that. She knows I love it! Seriously, I did that in about 4-5 bites! Why don't we start another 50 mile challenge when someone wins this one? I'm now a total of 38.5 miles in this challenge. Rockin' cool. |
Sorry I've been gone so long. I'm in the home stretch as far as university classes go, and my professors seem desperate to cram in as much extra misery as they can.
And, in light of my long absence, I add... 4 miles. Um. I'll work on that. |

Morning gang! Got my 3 miles in this morning and it's chilly here, very weird!
Total challenge miles: 47 miles KittyCat -- I love pad thai!!!! I'm a vegetarian so I eat veggie pad thai and OMG it is SO good!!! I get frozen meals from "Tandoor Chef" for portion control purposes, otherwise I'd scarf down tons of the stuff. Great job passing on the subway and getting those miles in! |
Morning runners! Ran 3 miles this morning, felt pretty good. This is Week 5 of my 37 week marathon training program and I'm feeling optimistic about it so far. We'll see.

I would say keep going...even though i am no where near the first 50 miles. But I think everyone should have a chance to hit 50 by the end of the month.

I haven't had a chance to get in my workout for today. But, I wanted to share some great news with all of you. Last night, I finally hit 50 MILES! In order to get in the last 6.5 miles, I ran twice in one day! (1.5 miles in the morning and 5.0 miles late last night) :carrot: I can't believe I'm going to say this...I'm really looking forward to the NEXT 50 MILES. It's official...I'm finally a runner! :D Tyler D::congrat: for hitting 50. Seeing your mile count jump so high everyday really pushed me! |

No runs for me today, I've got cross training on the schedule so I'll be cycling. Then I have a long run on the schedule for tomorrow. Hope all our runners are having a nice week! |

Yesterday I cycled and today is a rest day so another week of running kicks off for me tomorrow (I run on Tues, Wed, Thurs and Sat). I think it is about a 20 mile week. So I'm going to enjoy my rest today. :) |

This morning I ran 4 miles and I felt nice and refreshed after my rest day yesterday -- except I did a bunch of ab work yesterday while watching TV and I was a bit sore this morning. I really need to consistently work my abs, but I just never get around to it. But a strong core is good for running. Total challenge miles: 67 miles |
I'm back!!
Wow...can't believe it's been 4 days since I've posted here! :o My last run was this past Sat. morning. (4 miles) Sun. was a rest day and yesterday I took a Bootcamp class to mix things up a bit. I have just under 3 weeks left before my adventure race! :woops: So expect to see me logging in some major miles very, very soon! :D

As slack as I am...I am up to 10 miles. lol. I know...not good. I have not been dedicated enough to excersize this month...but I hope ya'll have a running thread next month. I really would like to try to get back into excersizing again on a schedule. I hate making excuses but things have just been so different lately in my life and i just haven't been able to dedicate myself to...well...myself. lol.
My goal is to try to at least hit 20 miles by the end of this month and really work on trying to hit 50 miles next month. Tyler D...awesome job on hitting 50 way before the end of the month!!! That is awesome!!!! |

Getting ready to almost literally crawl into bed. I had a brutal workout today on the treadmill. 5 miserable miles of hills and sprints! Every muscle in my body aches...time to pop some advil and call it a night.

Lumifan -- good job getting in miles when your life is so crazy right now! Doing any running is a win in my book! DC-- wow that sounds like quite a workout! Do you do most of your runs on the treadmill? I would go NUTS. My folks have one and the only time I use it is when the weather is bad because I get so bored on it-- though watching the occasional movie while on the treadmill can be sort of interesting! I did 2 and a 1/4 mile yesterday!!! I jogged about 1 1/4 miles and walked the rest. I'll have to come back and tell you my total for today. I don't remember. I am staying after work today and get another 2 miles in today and plan to do the same Friday and Saturday. I'm going to shoot for about 25 by the 30th. And maybe next month i'll do better on hitting 50 miles. I know jogging will really shape up my flabby body so i have gotta really dedicate myself to getting as much excersize as possible before June gets here (bathing suit time!!).

I did not get my 2 miles in last night. My legs are really hurting...maybe from the big run on Wednesday. But tonight, I am hitting the gym right after work. I don't have to go pick up my kids after work to take them to their grandma's, so i told the bf i am hitting the gym right after work before i even head to his house. Then I am planning to get up in the morning and hit the gym. So, we'll have to see if i really do that or not. I'll let you know on monday. We don't have internet at his house or mine so..have to wait till monday to report.
