I am new here, but I'd love to join. It would get me halfway to my goal. Great idea. I'm so competitive that this might help me get past my plataeu. :)

Good morning ladies! Did everyone have a good V-Day? Mine was very sweet. SO gave me a Valentine card that he made for me with my scrapbook stuff. So sweet and so thoughtful! I can scapbook it into a page for this V-Day which will be the only one we ever have as an engaged couple. I'll be off to the scrapbook store to pick up some paper for this special page.

We had a yummy mexican dinner (still managed to eat carefully and got lots of veggies and chicken) and then a mini cinnamon bun. Yum! We shopped after than and I got some new clothes since a lot of mine are getting a little big.

I weighed this morning and the scale gave me a victorious 196! I'll wait until tomorrow for official WI to change my ticker...but I'm excited to see what my loss will be for this week. If I am actually down 3lbs then holy smokes, what a fantastic week! :D

I'm going to run off to the gym and get a workout in before I start on cleaning my house. I'd like to have the whole weekend (except I work Sunday) to just play with DD and SO. I'll check back later to see how everyone's Valentine's Day was.

Cheers,
Tamara

So...where is everyone?

I hope everyone is doing well. I've decided to attempt the Fat Smash Diet for the next 90 days. The wedding is in 103 days, so hopefully I will have no problem with getting rid of 15-20 lbs by then.

I've read a ton of reviews and checked over the recipes. I like the idea of eating only whole foods and so we'll see how things go. I'm going to start it tomorrow morning and so I'm going to have to cook like a maniac tonight to ensure I'll have everything I need for all of my meals tomorrow.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone soon.

Cheers,
Tamara

I know tleef...i've wondered where everyone is. Seems like there is not much activitiy on the challenge board lately. I thought at first it was because monday was a holiday, then yesterday my work computer had gotten a virus...darn myspace!!!...but then today, it's still so quiet.

Well...i am not doing so good. My weight drop kinda disappeared. Been weighing in at 134 again. But i don't care. i'm not changing my ticker. I always say if i saw it, then it must be. i will see 131 again. I just have to really buckle down with healthy eating and excersizing again. The good news is....soon i'll be able to take up jogging after work again. Even if i don't drop another pound, i should tone up. But...here's to losing for Easter!!!

Good morning!

I officially started the Fat Smash this morning. The headache is terrible from lack of coffee, but it's only for 9 (8 more!) mornings and then I can have my coffee back. I don't think I'll miss the meat too much as I've bought Veggie crumble (like ground beef) and lots of beans/lentils. I made a huge pot of veggie rice soup last night as well as a big pot of vegetarian chili and homemade salsa.

The actual plan calls for lots of food, but nothing processed. Plain yogurt, oatmeal, brown rice, fruits, veggies, beans/legumes/lentils. So I'm going to see how it goes and hope that I can make it through at least the first 9 days, then I get my meat and coffee back! LOL

I imagine it's much easier in Phase II - IV, but this first 9 days will be a true test of my willpower.

I'm also going to not weigh myself for the whole Phase I and then see what I'm at on day 10. I weighed this morning and I'm still sitting at 199. I saw 196 last week, but then it was gone and I haven't seen it again so I left my ticker where it was. I won't be changing it until at least Saturday March 1 when I finish my 9 days.

I hope everyone has a great day and finds this thread again. Only just over 4 weeks until Easter! :cheer: GO US! ! !

Cheers,
Tamara

OK...So I'm a Fat Smash Failure! LOL I just couldn't do it. I got into the late afternoon yesterday (Day 1) and had to have coffee! I called my SO and he asked why I was putting myself through **** when I've done so well on the plan I've been using. I thought that made perfect sense. I guess the appeal of a fast loss in only 9 days appealed to me...but who doesn't it appeal to when you're looking to lose weight on a timeline (wedding June 1/08)! I already incorporate a lot of the principals of Fat Smash into my plan, lots of whole grains, lean proteins, fruits/veggies, low fat dairy...so why give up meat/coffee/bread!

I have a full 3 months and a week to get down at least 10lbs for my wedding dress although it already fits. I'd just like to be a bit smaller for The Day! So I still stayed 100% on plan and actually because the calories in my FS meals were so low I was really under yesterday. To me that's just not a good thing. I know that if I consume 1500 a day I consistently lose 1-2lbs a week. It also gives me the opportunity to drop a little lower if I stall or hit a plateau. On FS I would have only been eating about 1100 a day...where is there to go from there?!?! I've decided to really up my exercise in a bid to be a bit firmer, but I'm not going to mess with my eating plan for now. I enjoy SlimFast and on weekends, unless I'm in a hurry, I don't even use the SF products, just use the numbers (cal/fat/protein/fibre) to create a healthy meal using regular food. Since they revamped the website and the meal plans earlier this month there is always the option to use SF products and food or just regular food (but they give you the measurements and portions).

So as much as I wanted a Quick Loss that the Fat Smash may have given me I think I'm better off to do what I've been doing. They say that the best plan is the one you stick with...just like the best exercise is the one you'll Do! I'm gonna start my Beach Booty Ballet tonight after I get home from doing my circuit training at Curves and I'm going to do the BBB every day that I don't work both jobs. I figure that I can tone up and keep losing and not be miserable.

I hope everyone else is having a good week. WI is tomorrow for me so I'll see if I can change my ticker yet!

Cheers,
Tamara

tleef...i have to agree with SO. Why change something that is already working. But i know how tempting it can be to try something that says you can lose x amount of pounds in x amount of time. I'd be tempted to. Especially since i'm at a weightloss standstill. But on the plus side, i did just talk to someone at my local Y about starting some personal training sessions, so i am excited to hear back from her and get started hopefully next week toning this floppy mess up. My daughter was a little shocked and maybe a little upset this week when she saw me wearing a pair of her jeans. I tried to make her feel better by letting her know they fit her much better than me because they were so low....my belly flopped over them. I think that's what made me decide to go ahead and spend the money on the personal training sessions. It is time to kick my toning up into high gear!!!!

My weight loss has stalled a bit- my eating habits have gotten horrible, and I've stopped fencing as much since the season's over. I'm trying to climb painfully back onto the wagon, but we'll see how it goes. I think if I really kick it up a notch in terms of exercise and diet, and if I don't encounter enormous resistance from my metabolism, I can still make it, because I haven't really gained that much. Maybe a pound or two.
