Ally, it sounds like a good idea going back to SB. Just like you said, different diets work for different people. I hope that your 1st SB day is starting out great though!
Darby, whohoooo! It was a kick butt day for you yesterday. I hope you get another one. Poor Ricky...it is good that you are taking it slow with him. LOL, sometimes I feel like that too lol. So, i am heading back to Iowa City late morning here. I had a TB test a couple days ago, and you have to wait at least 48 hours to get it checked. I am looking forward to be back to my own place. It will be a lot easier sticking to my plan close to my own environment. I keep going back and forth between getting a gym membership. I am really tight on money right now, but I found a pretty affordable gym that is about $30 a month. I really made use of my gym membership back at home, and my doctor recommends that I exercise regularly for some anxiety/depression issues. Hmmm...if I didn't get a gym membership...I would really need to be loyal to walking and workout tapes (I have Taboe..sp???). Well, so far so good today...I had a slimfast granola bar, and I'm drinking some coffee right now. |
Tessa -- if you have insurance and your doctor recommended the gym, maybe they will pay for it??
I'm back on track today after doing horrible for days -- I felt so out of control, tired and cranky. Hoping I will get a handle on it today and get back on track or I'll never meet my Thanksgiving goal!! Hope everyone has a great day. |
Can I still join? I've been reading this place forever but just got to posting! I would like to be at 134 by Thansgiving!!! Although I haven't really lost anything the past 5 weeks (stalled!!!!!), I have averaged .90 lb/week for the last 5 months. So hopefully 9lbs is doable in 12 weeks!! :) HOPEFULLY!!!! I'd like to be at goal, 127, by my birthday on January 17th.

Hey all I have been up and down a few pounds recently but am now back on track and starting to lose again! I am 187.5 last couple days so its offical, lol! So that leaves me 17.5 pounds to lose by Thanksgiving, I am excited by the idea of being that low by the holidays, I am gonna aim for 165 by Dec. 26th my birthday. Its been a long time since I have seen the 180's but even longer since the lower numbers, probably 8-10 years ugh!
Ally sounds like SB worked so hopefully it works again, just try to think of maintenance also, chose something you could do forever if needed, or maybe modify it now to see if you could keep up the modified version forever. I know I am PLANNING on calorie counting forever, maybe just a bit more relaxed, and I might try to stop for a bit after being at goal a long time but you gotta know there is NO way I am gonna lose all the progress I have made even to date, much less once I reach goal. If it takes calorie counting forever to stay at a healthy me then so be it! Have a great mid week all. |
Hey all...is it too late to jump in here? I have 22 lbs to lose to goal. I would like to be down that much by Thanksgiving.

Thanks everyone. Yup I could eat SB rest of my life. First day is going good a lil tired but that's to be excepted first couple weeks on SB.
Of course you ladies an join in |
Is it too late to join in?
What I'd like to lose and what I think I can lose in the remaining time are totally opposite ballparks. So my target is going to be 20 pounds with a whole lotta praying and exercising going on! |
Hey guys! I'd love to join this challenge if y'all will have me!
Only I am having trouble deciding on my Turkey Day goal. I will get back to you! |
heh heh.. yes Canada has it's own Thanksgiving. This year it's October 8th.
Anyways... I'm calorie counting and exercising every day... but have yet to do my cardio for the day. Long work day so it's time to get off my butt. Tessa - what about a cheap stationary bike? I got an old one at a garage sale last year. |
Shelby, just getting back into a healthy eating and exercise routine should make you feel better. That is great that you had such a good day. I totally understand though...it is hard to keep on track. I yet to have a 'good' day...sigh. I will need to check with my insurance about getting help with a gym membership...I wonder if it works like that? Thanks!
Pretty, wow...you are at 143 right now? Wow! It sounds like you have been doing wonderfully! What have you been doing? 9 lbs is totally doable by Thanksgiving...I know the last few pounds is really hard though. Is 127 lbs a healthy weight for you? Have you checked? Ally, I am glad that the first day on SB went well...hang in there! Keep us updated! Edzward, sounds like you are really on the right tracks! Wtg on the weight lost so far. Seems like you are on your way to your birthday goal too! :) Kappy and Mel, yeah! Join right in! Good luck! Valpa, so the Canadian thanksgiving isn't that far behind U.S. thanksgiving. That is good... did you get to your cardio today? It is hard to work up the energy after a full work day...especially midweek. As for buying a small stationary bike...I can't think of anywhere in the house where I could fit a bike..I'll need to think about it more though. So, I am back in Iowa City back in my own house. I did HORRIBLE for lunch (2 days in a row...this really isn't like me). I stopped at a grocery station and ate a CHEESEBURGER. I don't even like Cheeseburgers! lol...eak! Tomorrow and for the rest of this week I am getting right back on track. 2 slimfasts a day...some kind of exercise (walking or Taboo for now...until I can figure out if I can handle the gym or not financially), and no stupid snacking. It is good to be back home though...I've been gone sense Friday. |
Hey everyone,
I had a good eating and I worked out. I only did cardio, no weights. There was a tornado warning for our county, and although they are rare in the area where I live, they have touched down. So, I went upstairs and kept my eye on the news. Tessa-It'll be easier to stay on track now that you're home. What is Taboo? Valpal-did you do your cardio? I almost pooped out, but I'm so glad I did it. Now I don't have to get up early to do it. I hate working out in the morning. edzard-that's the secret of keeping weight off; doing something you can do for the rest of your life. Prettyone-hang in there; consider your "stall" a practice maintenance.:D Ally-I don't know anything about SB. What are you doing in these first few weeks that make you tired? Hey Mel, Kappy, and Annie-welcome! So, tomorrow's plan is eating right. I have class from 2:30 to 5 so I need to remember to bring some almonds and dried fruit or a Cliff bar. I'm going to try to walk the dog, but there's a possibility of thunderstorms in the morning. Friday is going to be tough. I work until 4:30 and then I have class from 5-8, so no workout, and I need to plan for dinner. Well, I'm off to bed. Have a great night everyone. |

Hope you stay dry today.
Pretty, it sounds like you are really on the right track already. Oh fun about the trip...how nice! That would be an encouragment for me. How long have you been with your S/O? I can't imagine my bf taking me on any kind of trip...but he just finished school and is kind of tight on money right now...maybe someday. We've only been together for 4 months though. So, I've been doing great so far...it is normally easy to do so in the morning...late afternoon is the test for me. I had to get up early this morning...I ran my brother to the airport. Today my roommate and I are painting out house. We just moved into a pretty rundown house two weeks ago. We are a landlord's answer to prayer...we are really cleaning the place up, and doing some painting (they are paying us back for the paint, but free labor). So, so far so good today! Please help me stay on track! No more cheeseburgers! lol |
Colaz where do you live in Iowa City? I am a proud UI graduate (class of 96). :) I went on a girls' weekend to IC last summer and we had a BLAST! Hoping to go there again when I'm in the States this Christmas...
