  • Wow...I can't believe it's already been a month in the challenge. We've all had our ups and downs so far but I think it's cause for celebration that we've all still kept with it, because that's what really matters most.

    Go us!

    Anyways I thought I'd start the thread for the week seeing that I'm up early stressing over my test today. Eek. Can't wait to finish up this class this week. Thanks to clyyk and aud for the encouraging words as I try making it through my first plateau. I'm trying so hard not to let it discourage me. I just told myself now I need to work even harder this week.

    Anyways, time for some weed.

    W- 10 glasses of water
    E- Slim Fast Optima diet
    E- 30-40 minutes of full court basketball (last week of summer bball )
    D- Losing weight isn't easy. At times it can be hard. But it will all be worth it in the end.

    glitterlicious You'll find this as confusing as I do I suppose, glitterlicious, because I have been off plan eating-wise for a number of meals this week, yet I am down 2 more pounds today and my measurements are down too, putting me at 35% body fat, down from 40% last week!!! Even with last night's cake still making my belly feel heavy!!! I guess we should stop trying to figure out how the body is making it's decisions inside of us and like the stock market, look at the long-range progress and notice the improvement overtime as long as we stick with the original program as much as possible. Yes, there will be fluctuations in the results, but change for the better comes. As to your decision to "try harder this week", honestly I don't think you need that mindset. You are doing wonderfully! Just keep doing what you are doing for yourself. The results will show up on the scale soon enough.

    E - OP Except for the ice cream and glass of wine
    E - Week 3/Day 2 of c25k and some yoga. There was a heat alert, so I lifted weights indoors instead today.
    D - Yeah! I get my celebratory Chai Latte today!! I'm so tickled!
  • Good Morning Week 5 WEED'ers!

    I'm feeling tired too, holyt. Not sure what from - DID get the "stuff" back in the garage clykkie! DH has been working on "organizing" the garage for oh . . . I'd say YEARS now. Finally told him to Clean Sweep it - and we just emptied that puppy right on out into the back yard! (So it promptly rained!) Anyhoo . . . it's just beautiful now - tools in the tool area - camping stuff compacted - garden stuff organized and Holiday stuff back up in the rafters . . . could even park a VEHICLE in there! Wasn't it George Carlin that had the routine about STUFF? IA about the scale! Can be so infuriating glitter. Glad you're riiiiiding the storm out - as we sang with REO in the 70's!
    Didja see Homeboy - Roger Wehrli - NMichelle? Just *heart* him . . . so humble and still CUTE! I am soooo ready for some FOOTBALL! Beloved RAMS need to kick it up a few notches this year - have no night games really on the schedule due to their mediocrity - turning that ALL AROUND this season! Confession: Leonard Little is my Daddy!

    okokok . . . back to healthhealthhealth . . . thinking of all those Frosty Bud Lights and crisp autumn weather here in the swelter reminds me that I need to kick it up SEVERAL notches - shift time has moved up an hour so will be out of whack til I get used to.

  • Hi gals, quick post, I'm SUPPOSED to be at the gym. ha ha. Feeling sluggish today, had a CRAZY nightmare all day, woke up feeling like I didn't sleep at all! Weird, I almost NEVER have bad dreams.

    I am posting a LOSS!! Even if it is only a pound! 235! I swear, the digital scale flashed 234 then stuck on 235 so it's only fair I take that. But it'll just feel that much better next week when I post...hmmm....232 will be my weekly goal. Can you stand it? Long term goal, short term goal and now weekly goals....but this week, STRICT on plan! Last week, even with the poker game, even with HOF week, I considered myself reasonable, maybe lax on the exercise (I'm getting half-a$$ed on the cardio, so BORING!). This weeks work schedule-not too bad, last night + Wed, Thurs nights. Gives me a 3 day weekend....tomorrow, kid free day, they both have field trips at the daycare and begged to go and I have a denist appt and an appt for a Depo shot so I have those errands to run. Then I can really bust it at the gym.

    So my dad brought me a BIG bag of fresh tomatoes, the girls from work brought HUMONGOUS zucchinis in and DH brought from guy at work a REALLY BIG zucchini and a GARGANTUAN summer squash. So I'm LOVING it of course, but really, what do you guys DO with all these veggies!?

    Oh and Aud, don't feel too bad about your Rams, at least you're not a Browns fan, like I am ! This year is our year for weight loss and OUR YEAR for football too! BTW, I have no idea who Roger Wehrli or Leonard Little are, LOL I assume the first one was at the HOF, I cannot remember if I saw him or not. LOL I'm losing it.

    Crap I need to get to the gym, but I do want to talk to you miss GLITTER about this little plateau of yours, I'm not worried, and you shouldn't be either! Have the rest of you seen our gorgeous glit in the mini goals photo album???!? Get there NOW You are amazing woman! I never realized how TALL you are! You are looking da BOMB! Just keep on doin what you're doin, it'll catch up to ya. xooxoxxxoo

    Oh finished HP #3 last night, off to library to pick up FOUR today! I am so LOVING these BOOKS! xoxoxox Michelle

  • hi GUYS just a quick word, my crazy week is upon me and it has been awful (but I have learned so much and proved to myself that I CAN do my job by myself).

    Michelle, I have read all the HP books, and I love them. I plan on spending tomorrow re-reading the last book, I was so excited to reach the end that I am afraid I may have missed a few details (although I did savor every word knowing it was the last).

    I am still at 160, but dang it the last 4 days I have walked 15 miles per day (while at work) and eaten maybe 1000 calories each day (mostly because I only got 1 break per day since we were running 3 people short and my damn supervisor refused to call anyone in. TO THE UNION WE GO!!! I am going to get paid for missing my breaks!

    I have been getting in most of my Water, keeping calories around 1200-1500 (on normal days) but I have to get my butt to the gym on my off days. I SWEAR I WILL DO IT!!!) Mostly my daily goals include staying awake for the drive home and cleaning house, which I am afraid to say has been neglected.

  • okok so Monday is my w/i . . . but I've been w/i on Fridays too to see how I do thru the week and then again over the weekend, right? I decided that if I gain or lose I will Post and guess what? I lost both Fri AND Mon w/i - so I'm claiming it! 6 more lbs to labor day (TX UNION- GO jcat!) goal - thinking if I could EVER get to the gym and/or planned walk, I could knock out 4 more pretty easily . . . tonight was a nightmare night so no hope of the above but hoping today/tonight will be a different story.

    Aud the Bod---You passed me up! We are just neck in neck in this race! I know, I know, I shouldn't compare or "compete" but I just know you and I will keep each other on our toes. Why is it whenever I crack open an ice cold BL I think of you? Sometimes it's a picture I have of you toasting with me and sometimes you're frowning at me and --->

    I had the BEST dream last night, that DH and I were going to the prom (as adults, no less) but I looked so HOT in this little RED dress and really HIGH heels. *sigh* In the dream, somehow Spanx made me a size 4 even though I was technically at current weight. LOL It was a happy dream tho.

    Jen, glad you still pop in here now and then. I don't know how you do it, such long hours, no breaks. I hope you DO go to the union, that's what you pay your dues for! I hope you aren't sorry you took this job. I'm sure the $$$ is worth it. I hear ya about your house though, I just came off 3 in a row and will spend the NEXT three just catching up the house/laundry/etc.

    HT sounds like you kicked that cold. Let us know how C25k goes.

    Honestly, I'm afraid I'll say something dirty if I refer to Clykk and Glit at the same time (not exactly PG rated this morning, eh?)

    jcatron243 Don't worry, your body will drop that weight soon enough. It's probably in survival mode now with the extra exercise and the low calories you are offering it. Get more food in, girl!

  • I DID IT! I did my first c25k workout last night. i was tired for sure but i made it thru w/o real problems other than i sweat and was just gross LOL.....but i did ok

  • clyk, thanks for the encouraging words, but Ive been at 160 for quite a while now (up and down since about may) I just need to get in workouts when I am not at work. The good news is my body is reacting to the miles of walking everyday I work I have dropped a pant size and I think I may actually go buy an even lower size! We will see at the end of the month.

    Michelle I am not sorry I took the job, I love it! we are just running really short handed this week, okay its been like that for more than a week, but we were having some difficulty with our machines which meant more time babysitting than anything.

    Congrats to those who lost!!! I gotta get to cleaning!

    I'm thinking when I'm around 160 or 150lbs, I'll check out the Ck25 program - tried to jog a bit last nite and almost knocked myself out! It's a nice dream to think of actual running . . .

    Yes, in my evil plan to quietly VANQUISH nmichelle, clykkie . . . (just gotta say that's a REAL TONGUE TWISTER! ROTF!) . . . I lost 2 lbs M-F and 2 more over the weekend!
  • Sorry to be gone so long. I really don't even have a good excuse except grandson's been hogging his computer!!

    I just got a call from the home my dad is in. They want to do a cookie swallow testing. Please say a little prayer that he passes it!!! He was in good spirits today when I visited.

    I will be leaving for a Red Hat dinner in an hour. We are going to Ruby Tuesday's. I already looked at the menu on-line so I think I'm getting the grilled chicken.

    Oh yeah, I forgot I lost a pound this week. Could the Jazzercise be working already? I joined officially on Monday. It's fun, but, boy do you ever sweat!!!

    Carolyn- : WOOHOO on 2 pounds.

    How is your dad doing? I see he's bring your tomatoes. Mine still aren't ripen.. 2 are getting a little pink so maybe soon they will be ready to pick.

    Jeni- Sounds like you are not eating enough. Of course if you aren't taking breaks I know it's hard to get the meals and snacks in. Take it easy. I think they are taking advantage of you. I keep telling my daughter the bank is doing the same thing to her. They are low on staff and refuse to hire anyone else and there is many days they don't get to take breaks or even lunch. Bad thing is they don't have a union to complain to.
