Default W.O.W.'s "No Foolin' You" Challenge - Week 3 Chat Thread

Good morning, girls, and Happy Monday...

WELCOME TO WEEK 3!!!

I hope everyone had a good weekend... Bean, yes, it does kind of get ghost-towny around here on weekends. I don't know about everyone else, but my weekends are seldom relaxing because I have to use that time to catch up on everything else I don't have time to do during the week!

Gotta run quickly and make DH's lunch for him before he scoots out the door to work - catch up with you dear ladies later!!

Well my weekend was a bust. I ate too much and it wasnt healthy either. What am I gonna do about it? I'm back on the WEED today. I will stay on track and feel better (I actually felt gross last night after all the bad food).

W-84+ oz. I'm upping this today to help flush my system
E-4 mile walk done already
E-1200 cal. Yes, its low, but I was very bad
D-Its today that matters, not yesterday.

I hope all of you are doing well.

Good morning everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend.

I had a rough day yesterday as I knew I would. We celebrated the holiday of Purim. You basically give out and then receive huge baskests of decadent food. A dieter's nightmare basically. And then to top it off you have a big, huge, gigantic family meal at the end of the day. I was much better then in the past, much, much. I'd say I ate about 2000 calories or so. Whatever. I did manage though to get in 2, 20 minute workouts, one in the morning, one at night. Today is a new day. Although I gots plenty of food stuffs leftover. No big deal. I had my day yesterday. I weighed in today and I am down 3 1/2 lbs! Not too shabby.

W - drink lots
E- do lots
E- do little
D- Dr.'s appointment, not looking forward to this

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning girls~

My weekend was just OKAY eating wise. I made some poor choices but did resist making worse choices.....like last night we watched a movie and we were both FIENDING for taco bell, I even had my shoes on ready to go, but said NO...went to bed instead. I really NEVER have that kind of control.

So yes, we're back on track today. WEED~

W- working tonight so 6-7 liters all day/night

E- Well....looks like an at-home workout today, resistance bands? a video? treadmill? Definitely the stairs at work...I'd rather have the structure of my gym routine but TOMORROW.

E- B-fruit and a pb english muffin (ww)
L-salad, soup
D-????
Lunch at work-soup, sandwich on whole wheat bread, fruit
S- I usually take oatmeal for the 5 am slump...helps keep me full til bed

D- get my WEE, play with Rachel today, clean the house, finish laundry, finish watching American Idol on DVR...gotta catch up to get into the conversation!

Be back later xoxoxoxxoo Michelle

Okay, this week was a total wash -- but I stayed the same and I'm good with that. Too many issues going on but I think I've got everything under control !!

W -- 65 ounces -- less soda, more water!!
E -- 40 minutes 5 days a week at the Y
E -- Decrease fat and carbs and increase protein and vegs and find something besides bananas to eat for fruit!!
D -- Practice my patience, stress relief and quit waiting to be thin to live and start living for the enjoyment of it again!!

Off to the YMCA -- hope everyone is having a great day!!

My weekend was pretty crappy too. I didn't workout all weekend, plus I ate way too much of not good stuff (I even shared a non-diet soda with DH). I will get back to eating right. I just needed a break for some reason.

Today I get to spend the day learning how to drive a forklift. NOT driving one but learning how to. I the only one on my crew who has never done it before.

Congrats Robin. I know you are going to be surpassing me before we know it. You are doing an AWSOME JOB!!!!

Suz, My weekends aren't terribly relaxing either. We try to do something fun with the kids after getting the house cleaned(which takes 2 hours first thing in the morning).

Michelle, Great job on resisting Taco Bell. What movie did you watch??

Brandy and Shelby, I am right there with you. I had a bad weekend, but I will get back to it TODAY!! Weed here I come

W: 120 oz
E: 60 minutes, maybe more
E: 1200 cals
D: Have fun day.

e: rehearsal's good with 2 break walks
e: 1450-1500 cals

Thumbs up

Did ALL of us have a crappy weekend? I, too, fell off the wagon last night, big time. I usually celebrate Purim by baking about two tons of hamantaschen (three-cornered cookies with fruit filling) and distributing them among friends but, in the spirit of my improved eating lifestyle, I made none this year. However, I did make a very decadent dinner last night - chicken marsala from scratch! That probably wouldn't have been so bad by itself, but afterward my wicked, wicked DH decided to throw vanilla ice cream and Oreos in the blender with a little milk and made Oreo milkshakes. Tasty, but not conducive to what we're trying to do here!!

But that is all behind us, isn't it, girls? Yes. Yes it is. Today is a new day and a new chance to start again, and that is precisely what I intend to do.

OH - and Jeni, BTW, I'm not pregnant... TOM arrived last night, fashionably late. So now I have to figure out why I'm feeling continually run-down and sick to my stomach off-and-on. To tell you the truth, I was kind of getting used to the idea of maybe being pregnant, even though it wasn't planned... so I'm a little disappointed. However, I have to be completely honest with myself: now just isn't the right time.

OKAY - time to get back on that wagon!!! My resolve is renewed and my determination is greater than it's ever been before. I am SICK of Mr. Scale saying 166 every week, and this week I will make those numbers lower!!!

Who's with me on this one??? Who's ready to forget the weekend's misdoings and get their rears in gear??

Go get 'em today, ladies!!! READY.......... SET............ GO!!

W: 100 ounces
E: nothing today
E: 1400 calories
D: Stop and think before mindlessly putting food in my mouth, make conscious choices, and GET ALL THAT WATER!

Good Morning, lovely ladies

Had a pretty good weekend. Only exercised one day but that is o.k. Went bowling that night, so it came out all good.

I weighed in this morning and I am down 3 lbs. How exciting!!
No work today because of Casmir Pulaski day, so I got my workout in this morning. I pushed myself a little. Had the place to myself and let myself loose. I did 30 min. on the elliptical, 40 sit-ups (4 sets of 10) and weights. I'm starting to see definition on my arms. (Hopefully, I will be able to get rid of my wings. ) I came home and had the other half of apple I cut for my daughter's lunch.

W: Doing good. Already have 2 bottles down.
E: Done.
E: Doing good, also. Stay on track.
D: Try and get various things done around the house.

Good morning ladies,
Well my weekend was pretty good. I managed to eat according to plan, but just still couldn't get that water in. Hey Rowdy bliss thatnks for the pep talk!
Well I am enjoying this WEED thread a lot. So here's the plan for today.
W-2 down 6 to go. Going for 8oz every 2 hrs
E-Did it...I accidently taped over my 3 mile walking video, so I did the 2 mile. So 30 minutes.
E-More veggies
D-Take things one meal at a time and try not to think about food all day long.
Take care of the small stuff while it's small...I am a horrible procrastinator, thus the weight issue, but I'm workin; on it.
Happy Monday ladies, and remeber today is a new day!

Brandy - Great job on getting back on track! I went way off track this weekend, and reading your post gave me the extra boost I needed to remind myself to just keep going...so thanks!

Robin - I've never heard of that holiday (obviously, since I'm in the US). It sounds interesting! I definitely wouldn't fare well with that...LOL.

Michelle - Congrats on staying away from Taco Bell!

Rowdy - I'm right there with you! I'm sick of not being able to get below 145!! And I'm GOING to do it this week....I just know it!

Jenny - YAY!! Congrats on the 3 pounds lost. That must be a great feeling...keep up the awesome work!
-------------------------------------------

Okay, so my weekend was bad. But I'm off to a great start today. Got half of my workout in (will get the second half done after school when I go to the YMCA), had a healthy breakfast, and made a healthy lunch and snack. I also cut up a lemon so I can have some lemon-flavored water today!

Here's the WEED for today...
W - 4 cups (I got one in already)
E - 25 minutes floorwork/abs, 50 minutes intervals
E - Watch portions, enjoy my food
D - Go about today in a relaxing manner and get back on track

Hi girls, just finishing up reading up on your weekends...feeling a little better I'm not the only one who slipped up a bit.

Pardon my ignorance, esp regarding religious diversity, but what is Purium? What does it mean and what is the religion it is a part of? I can't believe I don't know what it is. The baskets of nice foods sounds nice to share with others...is it a bit like Fat Tuesday?

Jenny, how did you bowl Saturday? Did you go out for fun or are you in a league too? I had a crap night, my average is 162...I had 127-167-158....but by the end I was too drunk to really know what I was doing...LOL, some reason my friends were feeling generous, and every time I turned around someone was handing my share of a group shot....OMG with the two different "cliques" of gals I hang around with, twice I turned around, did one shot, walked away into THE OTHER circle of girls doing TWO in a row...OMG I'm lucky I didn't get sick all over the place. (Usually the one group of girls doesn't even drink, or buy their own, so I do like one with them and shots with the other group but dear goodness, both groups doing shots, I was out of my mind!) I still like my new ball, and I love the way I throw it, but it's tough to control, hooks too much for me, I need to throw the ball REALLY hard.

Yes, and what is Casmir Pulaski day!?! How am I so out of the loop?

Teror~the show is what, less than two weeks away! The rehearsals must be getting BRUTAL! And DH is on board too! Salad is a good start, you can even "man" it up a bit by adding in slivers of steak or southwestern chicken. I'm a scrapper but I don't dabble much in rubber stamping (I have a few though), so the chickie one sounds cute, if you scan it, maybe we can add it as an icon under our profiles. Oh do you have any pictures of you performing? I'd love to see them~you should have a website.

Hi lovemacon, didn't get a chance to welcome you last week! If you're having trouble with the water, do ever add lemon, lime or orange wedges to the water? I like to add one of them, but the bottle in the freezer and let it get icy before drinking it, YUM! What walking video do you do? I have a few good ones taped from fitTV but as I keep telling people, I'm too much of a gym rat, I'm not much for working out at home, unless you count housekeeping.

Suz, the oreo milkshake sounds divine!!! YUMMO! But, whether you wanna hear it or not, you may not be out of the baby woods yet, the TOM LATE, the queasiness, etc....esp if this TOM is light and only lasts a short time, you should still check it out. Like you said, it was probably a gastro bug, but you never know. It's pretty normal to be a little disappointed even though it wasn't something you wanted yet....

Hi Jenni!!! Did I ever tell you guys that before I was in nursing school, I worked at my dad's factory doing some light welding and shipping and whatnot, and once in awhile I got to drive a tow-motor, which I think is pretty close to a forklift, it's funny to say you're a chick who drives one. I would just drive around waving to all my friends like I was the visiting queen or something...mostly the employees just tolerated me because they knew my dad and knew I was just summer help, but still. I love hard-hat and steel-toed-boots MEN-- those men got me in alot of trouble that summer! If my dad only knew! LOL

The movie we rented was First Man (?) the one where Robin Williams gets elected president...I thought it was boring but DH enjoyed it. I think RW is a little one-dimentional. Still enjoyable, but I must not have been in the mood for him right then.

Robin, you're doing great!!! I'd call this weekend celebration your calorie cycling, LOL that's what I say when I go a bit overboard.....2000 calories or whatever still isn't as much as we would typically eat "back then", YKWIM? I still can't believe how quickly the weight is coming off, you breezed right through those 190s. Oh yes, and I finally had cauliflower, the steamed frozen kind, garlic and cauli, and I gotta tell ya, I didn't like it much! I wish I did though, I know you love it so much. Let us know how the Dr. goes, is it medical or gyn?

Speaking of which, Brandy, did you ever find out the results of your labwork? I meant to ask last week, but never got around to it. Check you out! I noticed you said you got your 4 mile walk in already, AT 7 IN THE MORNING! You rock! What do you do? Get up way early and go to the gym? A treadmill in the basement? Obviously I don't do the 9-5 thing so I can't do it that way, but I always thought it would be cool to be one of those 5am aerobics class girls, getting the workout in before the day even begins. My gym isn't even open that early anyways. Do you feel energized all day or do you crash by lunch time?

Shelby, I really like you saying this...."Practice my patience, stress relief and quit waiting to be thin to live and start living for the enjoyment of it again!!" A friend of mine finally made it to maintenance and we're both just so confused, what are we going to do with our time besides stress over every little calorie, every exercise, etc....we should be living and enjoying it all the whole time~! I hate that I say things like, I'm going to ------when I get thin, we SHOULD be having fun and living life to the fullest NOW!

Now I feel like I'm just rambling. I work tonight 7p, tomorrow night 7p and then Fri-Sat-Sun....Blah, but I'm thinking about calling off this weekend for my FIL birthday party, but it's time change and i can't resist going to work 11 hours and get paid for 12....LOL. Plus I get paranoid calling off "just because", I'm likely to get sick the next week and not be able to call off.

Time to make lunch for me and Rach, talk to you all soon xoxoxo Michelle

Hello,
This is the first time posting in this thread so I hope I am not intruding. I am looking for a March challenge and it seems like it is happening here! I have been at the "changing lifestyle" thing for about 4 weeks now and have managed to lose 6lbs and exercise 3-4 times a week at the gym. I am always looking for incentives to keep me focused and am hoping I can jump on a weight loss challange. If you don't mind me jumping on board let me know your stipulations and rules. Thank you,
Lisa

The weekend wasn't too bad. We did go to my mother-in-laws for dinner and took Chinese food with us. I kept my portions small so I didn't feel to bad about cheating a little. Other than that I stayed on program.

Another pound gone. I hope this losing streak continues. I owe it to all you girls here. I know I have to post what I did the day before and it helps keep me honest. Thanks for hte help and support!

Brandy- You are so close to goal. You will make it. I like you "D". Forget yesterday.

Robin- I'm glad I don't celebrate Purim. It sounds like a dieter's nightmare. I have enough trouble staying on track without a holiday like that. WOOHOO on the 3 1/2 pounds. You mist have had good controll over all that food.
Good luck at the Dr. today.

Michelle- Good for you for not making the Taco Bell run.

Shelby- Glad there was no gain.

Jeni- Good luck with your forklift lessons. I've never driven one before either. I don't think I really want to drive one either.

Holyteror- Good news about the extra workout.

Rowdy- I'm getting my rear in gear!!

Jenny- WooHoo! 3 pounds gone. Good for you!!

Love- I have a problem getting the water in too. It's easier in the summer when it's hot outside and you get thirsty.

LaBonita- Glad your are back on track today. The weekends are hard for me too.

Today's WEED:

W- 3-4 bottles of water today
E- 20 minutes on treadmill
E- brussel sprouts and smoked turkey sausage for dinner
D- Enjoy my day while staying on track
