Brandy - hope you had fun sledding, and didn't get ANY broken bones! Glad your walking friend is back - it's lonely going alone!
Courtnie - congrats on the weight loss!! I am just finishing whitening my teeth (crest white strips), just 10 minutes to go and then I am off to bed. Last night I managed to get into bed around 9pm, I passed RIGHT out... sleep was just alright though. Josh had a nap and wasn't able to sleep most of the night and kept me semi awake as well. He's not home right now so I'm gonna get to sleep before he gets home. I guess he's feeling better too - he stayed home from work because he was sick and ended up going out to his friends. My mom always said - if you are too sick to go to school you are too sick to go to a friends.. heh. Guess that stuck with me.. Have a good one gals! -Aimee |
anyone wanna join me?

Courtnie-Congrts on the loss! You've been waiting and workng for so long. Good job sticking with it through your "stuck" phase.
Aimee-A black eye! I accidentally hit a ramp some teenagers built and took a face plant into the snow. It was still a good trip overall. The neice and nephew had a blast. Isnt it annoying when your SO keeps ya from sleeping? It seems like one of us sleeps on the couch fairly often here. I had a rough day with eating on Sunday so I'm getting back on track yesterday and today. My art class starts back up today so I'm excited about that. I got a full afternoon of teaching and then bible study tonight. It should be a wonderful day. Hope all of you are doing well also. |
Brandy - my goodness a black eye?? I've never had one of those before.. do people look at your weirdly? Are you married? Engaged? Shacked up without a piece of paper? I'm the last one... we can't afford a really nice couch, therefore we can't afford to get married. Heh.. I think in weird ways! Josh and I will get married some day, but now we are enjoying life and both are 100% committed to this relationship. I'm having a few rough days as well.. TOM is here and I am craving cake like CRAZY! I am letting myself have some - no regrets, no guilt. I am however going back to 100% no sugar, including no fruit, for 7 days to get my headspace back. It's amazing to me how much power I used to let food have.. I don't like that and having no sugar really helps me get the focus away from that.
I am babbling.. have a good one :) -Aimee |
Aimee-my eye doesnt really hurt, its just a bit tender when I put my contacts in. I'm married-we celebrated our 10th in Nov. Its crazy to think I've been married that long. We were hs sweethearts, did the long distance thing through college (500 miles apart) and then got married, bought a house, the whole deal within 6 months of him finishing his degree. (I was in the first year of my graduate program)
Hope your TOM is calming down. I am going to be going off my depo shot soon and am DREADING the return of TOM. I used to get serious cramps and everything. Its been so nice and convenient not to have them. I think its good you're allowing yourself some sugar with no guilt. That makes things easier to handle emotionally and then its easier to get back to normal. Well, today I'm going to try to take it easy until time for work tonight. I will do a workout, but our walk was cancelled due to freezing FOG. Can yo imagine that? Crazy weather. Have a great day. |
Brandy - I totally HAVE heard of freezing fog, my brother says it's really common between Spokane and Seattle, he named a town but I totally forget. It sounds pretty nasty!
Congrats on 10 years! Thats a very sweet story, to me it sounds romantic! What did you take in college? TOM drives me insane, I take the pill back to back to avoid most of it, but I am on a new pill and it's REALLY not working so well! TOM manages to sneak thru and I get it even though I'm on the pill.. the cramps aren't that bad though. Today I'm back to no sugar, I had the WORST headache I've had in a while. Who knew you could get a headache from sugar, not nice!! Have a good one :) -Aimee |
Hi gals! Courtnie - congrats on the weigh loss! Yee-haw!!! I had a great weekend and then I had a cousin from Cal. come home iwth me until yesterday. So...I haven't been on the computer at all. For the most part I think I ate pretty well. Several ofu s are ondiets. I hav enot seen my niece since this weekend last year. She has lost 50 lbs!!! I am so proud of her! I ahve not weighed in yet - kind of afraid even though I did pretty well. My daughter is better and started a new medication last night. Hopefully this one will work!
Brandy- how's the eye? |
Hi gals. Its gonna be a wonderful day. I'm gonna go to the art store and try to make some of my ideas come to life this afternoon. I'm definetly feeling that creative spark.
Aimee-Withdrawl headaches are the worst! I hope your body adapts to the no sugar quickly so the headache eases. Hang in there. I was a music major. My bachelors degree is in Harpsichord and Piano performance and my Masters degree is in Music Theory and Literature. Its kinda sad that I dont use my masters degree to much. Every once in a while I'll start explaining something to a piano student and I see their eyes glaze over and I realize I'm delving WAY to deep and I've lost them. fatbegone-glad your weekend was fun. Congratulations for staying so good also! That's wonderful. It must have been encouraging to see your neice after such a big loss. It totally motivates me to see what others have been able to achieve. And look at you, 15 pounds is wonderful! |
fatBgone - wb!
Brandy - the headache is gone :) It didn't last long, thank goodness! Wow a music major, thats impressive! Yah its sad when we don't always get to use the things we learned in College, but it's still nice having the knowledge! I've been flipping thru pictures lately, wow, I've gone thru some bad hair, and some GREAT hair. I am completely decided that I'm going to stick with short hair, like no longer than shoulder length, it just doesn't suit me. I also got to watch my weight slowly creep up, I guess in a year I'll have pictures of me shrinking back down right? I say a year because thats about how long it takes me to actually deal with the pictures I get done - they mostly sit in a shoe box. heh. I am also down 1 pound this week, 220 now officially. So close to my first goal!!! I cannot wait to move on to my next one! Hope all is well with you all! And what happened to everyone and posting?? -Aimee |
Surprise-surprise! I lost 4 lbs! What a treat! Brandy - I need some advise since you are feeling that creative spark. I am starting up my own business on the side. It is a service actually where people give you pictures and you make them into a DVD with a musical background, titles etc... Next weekend I am debuting at a craft show. Any ideas on how to make a cheap and effective back drop so that I draw attention? My table will only have 2 TV's constantly running examples of the videos I have made. (Another way to deal with those pics Aimee!) Aimee- this time next week I'll bet we will be celebrating your goal! Go girl!
|
fatbgone - congrats on the 4 pounds! how awesome!
I am down 2 this week, that is a lot for me! putting me 159! omg i dont remember ever being this low! |
Hey Gals! I am having THE most lazy Saturday ever! I don't know that I really accomplished anything. I ate healthy though!
So, I had a weird experience tonight! My neighbour got her belly button pierced, now... she's nearly 300 pounds.. but good for her. So I went with her and her REALLY slutty friend, the girl was wearing the shortest skirt ever with a white tank top and a really bad bra. Tell me who wears that in February?!? Here's the thing I don't get - how come I am a little jealous of the 300 pound girl? I want my belly button pierced, but I want to be thinner before I get it done. I don't get myself. My weight has been really bothering me today and yesterday, I am SO tired of being this size. It feels like it's taking forever to get smaller. I think thats also because my size 16 jeans are still fitting fine, I want them to be big!! Grr, how come this takes SO long?!?! Courtnie - congrats on the 2 pounds :) fatBgone- the slide shows are a very cool idea! I always get ideas when I wander through craft stores, you should totally go and get some ideas! I sure can't wait to celebrate getting under 220! Congrats on your weight loss as well, you rock!! -Aimee |
Courtnie- congrats! I can't imaging 159 - I'll probably feel like I'm anorexic and wasting away to nothing - lol!
Aimee - you are almost your mini-goal! Why don't you set up a weight for which you can reward yourself with a belly button pierce? I know what you mean - I would need to be much thinner before getting a belly button pierce. Sounds like quite the event today- I don't know anyone who wears a tank top in Feb- her friend sounds like quite a humdinger :) Why don't you find a pair of jeans which you are able to buttom/zip but still to tight to wear comfortably. Hang them in your closet where you can see them. Every week try them on to see if you have lost enough for them to be worn comfortably. When this happens, pull out another pair which is too tight. This way even small loses can be provide an NSV. I also have a pair of jeans hanging which is my ultimate goal. Right now I can't get them up to my hips - lol! I have a long ways to go, but today my short term jeans can be worn comfortably and I picked another tight pair. Just an idea. |
Hi gals, glad everyones weekend was nice. Mine was good too.
Courtnie-Congrats!!!! You've left the 160s. You must be feeling so fabulous. Great job and keep going. Aimee-WooHoo! You're so close to your mini. I know you'll get there very soon! It is frustrating how we lose. I lose weight very slowly in my waist, so for me to change a jeans size takes forever also. I dont have any stellar advice to make it all better. I'd just say try to focus on all the good that you have accomplished. You've lost over 30 pounds and that is incredible. Do you have pics from before you started losing? Compare them to how you look now and I'm sure you'll see some changes you can be happy with. I do understand how depressing the slow progress can be but you have to focus and just keep doing it. fatbegone-4 pounds!!!! That is amazing. Congratulations. I am terrible at doing displays for shows. It is my biggest weakness so I dont have any great ideas. Usually the booths that draw my attention are backed in lots of swags of tulle or other fancy fabrics. That always looks nice but it detracts from my items because it overpowers them. I hope you come up with something you like. |
I'm down 2 pounds for the week. Its getting so close.
|
Brandy - you ARE so close!! Just 4 pounds to go.. wow.. I cannot wait until I get there too. Do you realize you've lost 55 pounds?!? What kind of celebration are you going to have when you reach goal? I thought about the picture thing, and I managed to avoid the camera pretty good when I was my largest. Not only that, but every picture I would have? I deleted off my digital camera.. silly silly me! My legs aren't getting much smaller either, I bet thats because I stopped running though.. they don't seem so toned. I gotta get back to exercising.
fatBgone - I like the jeans idea! I think I might search for a pair of size 15 jeans, and try them on every couple of weeks. I do have a pair of pants for work, I'm waiting for them to fit and try them on every couple of weeks as well. Thanks! -Aimee |
Brandy- yeah!! Way to go! HOw are you feeling? Did your headaches stay away?
Wow- you two have lost a combined 85+ lbs - incredible! |
Howdy all. I'm back from my morning walk. It was nice out (30F) but the sidewalks were very slippery. I walk about 1.5 of the 4 on the sidewalk and do the rest in the road of a very small subdivision.
Yesterday was a busy one but I stayed on track throughout the day. I dont have much planned today. I need ot return some library books and do a few errands. I dont have to be at work til about 7 so it'll be a very easy day. Hope you're all having a great week. fatbegone-My headache broke Mon. morning. It is so nice to not have one so its been a wonderful week! Aimee-Why did you stop running? The weather has really hurt my running, but I still occasionally can get it in. I'm looking forward to ramping it back up though. Its such a great workout. I'm not sure what I'll do when I hit goal. I hadn't really thought about it. Any suggestions?? |
This is just a short one from me today, I've been exercising and so thats taking away from my freetime. Which means I get less time to post :(
Brandy - I went walkign this morning too, in the SNOW, snow in Feb in Vancouver is weird.. we got soaking wet (my friend and I). But it was nice to get out :) I stopped running because when I was just starting south beach phase 1 it just sucked all the energy out of me, my body was trying to adjust to no sugar and then to add exercise was just too much. And then the weather has been SO weird, I haven't been driving much because of the snow.. and I got lazy. I am back into exercise though, and plan to start running next week. What to do when you hit goal? I am getting my belly button pierced, I think they are sexy.. heh. Some people buy jewlery, I also love that idea. Or even a vacation! fatBgone - hows it's going lately? How's your daughter? TOM issues not so much fun :( I am off to work.. have a good one! -Aimee |
Hi gals, hope you're all doing well. I'm good and had a nice day yesterday. I'm going to the lab today for the blood draw for the new tests the dr. ordered. Say a quick prayer for me please. I'm hoping that the protein c level has fixed itself. I'll worry about the other things later. If that one thing is better I'll be relieved.
Aimee-Ah, the running and eating everything in sight 2 hours later syndrome. I know that one very well. It is hard to master exactly what your body needs without going over. I'm sure on phase 1 of just about any plan its a really bad combination. I'm glad to hear your getting back into the exercise though. I really can't lose without doing both diet and exercise. Your goal ideas are great, but I already have a belly button ring. I've had it for years although it was taken out for about a year while I was at my biggest. I've also been on a jewelry buying pattern lately. In the past year I've bought myself a diamond ring, emerald earrings, emerald ring, a gold belly ring, a tanzanite ring and some gold dangling earrings. (Yes, there are advantages to being a bit older and thus better off financially). What I'd really like to do is go away for a weekend but its my busy time at work and I dont think I can swing it. |
Brandy - here's the question - do you feel the need to do anything once you hit goal? How about getting an ipod? I am thinking I need an ipod shuffle once I hit 199!
Which is feeling like it's NEVER going to happen these days. I have been exercising, still following this diet, and I am gaining weight. I always seem to gain weight or stop losing weight when I exercise.. feels so pointless to exercise to me when those are my results. I am pretty frustrated today, I had wanted to hit 215 for our trip to Seattle, we leave on Wednesday after work.. so unless I experience a "whooosh", it doesn't seem like it's going to happen! Alright, thats enough of me being negative, I am off to exercise. I will ttyl! -Aimee |
Hello girls! I am franticially trying to get ready for my craft show this weekend. I could really use another week to get ready! I never dreamed the Spring shows started as early as the first week of March- that is still winter! Brandy- no need worrying about my background outshining my product- I still don't have a background! Wish me luck!
Now for the good news. My official weigh-ins are on Friday, but I did weiegh today hoping to hit the 10lb goal for Feb. I did not make it - but I'm still pretty happy - the scale ready 179.6! I have not seen 170 anything in years! Have a good weekend everyone! |
Good morning gals, I hope you're having a beautiful Friday.
I'm feeling pretty good today. I let my thoughts get the better of me yesterday and just got really depressed again. I'm GONNA be happy today though. I havent come up with anything to celebrate getting to goal so unless something strikes me soon I'll just do nothing. I'm ok with that though. Aimee, your ideas have been great, I'm just spoiled and seem to already have so much. Aimee-What kind of exercise have you been doing? I usually gain with new exercise especially if its weights of any kind. It is so frustrating so I understand how it can get you down. Hang in there. You're doing so well and the scale will reflect that soon. We all hit plateaus and strange points where our bodies dont respond like we expect and it really does suck but we have to keep going. fatbegone-Congratulations. 9 pounds in Feb. is wonderful! I hope your craft show goes ok. It is pretty stressfull to get ready for them (especially your first few) They do get easier as you get more used to your set up times/packing/etc. Good luck Well, I'm gonna post 1 more and then do my exercise. |
Goodmorning! There is no rain, and no snow here yet today! Woohoo! So maybe I'll stay dry when I go for a walk this afternoon.
fatBgone - whats your secret?? I was SO good in Feb and only lost 3 pounds, stupid stubborn body!! congrats on the weight loss! And goodluck with your craft show this weekend :) Brandy - if you don't feel the need to have anything for when you reach goal, how about doing something like having a SAFE, nearly onplan dinner out with the person of your choice? Or maybe *someone* can make you dinner? ;) It's nice to be spoiled, I am pretty spoiled, but I am thinking part of that has to end. Josh ends up buying me things, and then we don't buy things we need, like a new couch, a new bed frame, so those are my goals of things to buy this year. I am doing exercise with weights, and I'm doing kick boxing video with lots of muscle work. So I think my muscles are retaining water, I read somewhere that they do that with weights. I drank lots of water yesterday to try and force that water out.. so hopefully! I am off ladies, have a good one :) -Aimee |
Hi just sitting here contemplating how terrible I ate over the weekend. I dont know what got into me, but I sure hope its run its course and is outta here. I havent been that bad in a really long time. Its really quite frustrating because I dont know what set me off. Oh well, Its done and over and I'm moving on. I had a beautiful walk here this morning. I'm enjoying it being light out for most of it this week and then the time change happens and I'll be back in the dark next week. Yuck!
I hope your weekend was wonderful. |
Brandy - I had the same thing this weekend! I know what set me off - I went to a birthday party Sat night and drank which is never a good start. It's now Monday, fresh week, fresh start, no guilt! I am think I am looking forward to the time change as well... not entirely sure yet. I like light in the morning, but really enjoy light later in the day. I guess I have no choice, heh.
Should we start a new monthly thread? It's well into March now. Oh, and speaking of which, only 2 sleeps until we go to Seattle! We are going Wednesday right after I am done work, it'll be nice to get away for a few days. :) -Aimee |
Well, its back to freezing my bum off here. I'm getting ready for my walk and we're in the single digits. Oh I so cannot wait until spring. Today will be a busy one. I have a funeral and then a class and then I teach. It'll keep me out of trouble, right??
Aimee-you've gotta be so excited for your trip!!! How long will you be away? A new thread seems appropriate, maybe we can pick up some more people that way too. You never know. fatbegone-How are ya?? |
sorry I have been MIA i kinda forgot about this thread!
|
Todays the day Aimee! How excited are you?
I'm doing ok today. Its gonna be slow and relaxed until 6:30 and then lots of work for me. I'm enjoying the every other week thing with choir rehersals. Its making the lenten season much easier overall. Courtnie-Glad to see you re-found us. |
shouldnt we have a march one going? lol
|
We made it to Seattle! I had a pretty crappy headache so didn't come online for the ENTIRE day, can you believe it?
So far it's been really rainy here, so no walking for me :( But I had a really good breakfast, fat free yogurt and grapes. For lunch we went to Google and had lunch there, it was really yummy! I had pita pizza, Josh had a sandwich with whole turkey breast that was sliced, it was a sandwich bar. He also had chicken roasted with some herbs, he said it was yummy. There was so much food it was amazing. I hit up the fruit salad instead of the dessert bar, yay for me :) I also got a low fat coffee at Tully's.. hopefully I'm good enough to keep from having a gain when we get back. I bought myself a water bottle today, from the Lucy store, I love their stuff, but just wasn't feeling the clothes this time, maybe it was the cost.. heh. Tomorrow I'm on the hunt for some cute casual shoes! I better go rejoin the crowd, talk to you all soon! -Aimee |
I had a great day today. I got my hair done and then went to the bead shop I teach at in Ann Arbor. I talked to some friends for a bit and found some awesome beads that I splurged on. I usually wouldn't have bought them but I was .5 pounds away from 130 this morning so I'm going to make myself a beauty of a necklace as my reward for goal. I wont put it together til I'm officially there.
Aimee-I'm glad you made it to Seattle safely and are having a great time. I'm so impressed with how well you're eating while away. Good job! I'll have to check out Lucy stuff. Its not ringing any bells. I've been eyeing a cool water bottle at Whole Foods, but I cant remember who makes it. Courtnie-Hi fatbegone-Where are you? I hope you're doing well. |
Where am I??? I'm in the DOG HOUSE!! Girls - I have been on an 8 day feeding frenzy!!!! AHHHH!!!! I can't bear to even step on the scales. I don't know what happened. ON my last post I was at 179. Actually the next day I was at 178 - I was so exicted - how could I then turn so rotten??? I just stopped taking a med which in the past kind fo curbed my appetite. Once I went off I just felt like I was starving to death!!! However, today I TOTALLY pigged out and am ready to be good starting tomorrow! I have already shopped and packed my next several lunches for work. I am so disappointed in myself. I know everyone slips up, but for crying out loud - 8 days??????
I attended craft shows yesterday and today too. All is going well. People are very excited about my videos! I hope it takes off! I think from tehlast 2 weekends that I will get at least 10 orders - $95-$125 each- ~ $1000 or so. Cross you fingers, ok? I am now at the mercy of my "customers" to call me. I tried to impress upon them to not call me at the last second. I have a feeling Mother's Day/Graduation will be very busy. AImee - how was Seatlle? Good for you for eating so good! Brandy - good for you for rewarding yourself! Courtnie - how are you???? |
I'm hooooome!! Oh MY it was a crazy drive home!! The highway from the border to the main highway was flooded, so what did we do? What everyone else did - DROVE THRU IT! 10 inches of water! It was so scary to me, top 4 scary moments in a car for me! I am glad to be off the road!
So Seattle was fun, lots of shopping, lots and lots of shopping!! We spent like 300-350 dollars! I found casual shoes, and a purse to go with it. I also hit up Sephora for some eyeliner and also found a really great french manicure pen - thats right a pen! The USA is so different from Canada - I can barely explain it. Like when we went to target the sizes of packages of candy were huge! There is so much more diet food! It would be so easy to get fat - but also appears to be easier to lose the weight. I didn't drink one bit of pop or coffee while I was in Seattle because it tastes SO different that I can't enjoy it. I'm always in awe of how two counties so close can be so different! I am in love with Vitamin water - we brought a few bottles home :) fatBgone - I definitely didn't eat healthy and can relate with the pig out stuff! I ate smaller portions, but we still hit up Taco Bell (we don't really have them here). Time to get back to dieting for me.. tomorrow I find out what my scale says I did. Eeek! Brandy - thats a very nice reward, I do enjoy making jewlery at times. I seem to have an eye for very classic jewlery.. infact when my mom and I went to a necklace making course the instructer was impressed. It's a nice feeling to be good at something I think! Check out lucy.come I believe, or google lucy. They are mostly athletic type clothes, which i'm in love with. Thats it from me for now.. I shall talk to you ladies tomorrow! -Aimee |
Good morning all. I had a very bad day eating wise on Saturday, but controlled myself on Sunday. I'll get on the scale later to see the cumulative damage. I'm up very reluctantly for my walk this morning. The time change hit me hard today instead of yesterday. I feel like a truck ran over me! SO tired.
Aimee-I'm glad you had a wonderful trip. Sorry the ride home was so frightening. I'm not so great in cars, especially when I'm the passenger. It sounds like you remained fairly good on your diet which is wonderful during a vacation. I hope you're not feeling bad about the few things you mentioned. fatbegone-8 days is nothing when you consider the years of unhealthiness/bad choices most of us have made. Put it all in the past and do your best today. You can do it. Courtnie-Hi ya. Well, gotta go meet my buddy. Have a great one. |
Brandy - I am trying to have no guilt, and mostly I don't. But we truely ate out 2-3 meals a day, I ate smaller portions so I feel good about that :) The mornings are a little tough, but I am loving the later light! We'll see when I have to start getting up the morning though!
So.. I am down to 219 this morning!!! I cannot believe it - I finally hit my goal! Now, onward and DOWNWARD! My next goal is 199 :) -Aimee |
Congrats Aimee!!!!!
|
Aimee-Hooray for 219!!!!!
Today will be our first nice day of the year. We have a forecasted high of 69!!!!!!!! (And then we have snow forecasted for the weekend) I have a night off from teaching lessons and dont have my bible study either so except for my class I can enjoy the nice weather. I'm thinking me and the doggies will be taking a long walk. |
Check out my ticker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Brandy - omg! 1 pound to go, does it feel good that the losing part of this journey will be over? Next it's all about the maintenance! With the way you exercise, you will have no problems! Thanks for the nice compliment on my skin btw, I am a very lucky girl to have such a good complexion.
Today the car goes in to get fixed, yay!! It'll feel good knowing the car isn't so vulnerable. Courtnie - thank you! Soon I'll be at 199.. I can feel it! heh.. I am drinking WAY more water with my new fancy water bottle! -Aimee |
