I'm in :carrot: I'm going to stick with the same goal as last month. A least 4 days per week, for at least 1 hour per day. I can do it!!! I almost made it last month just a few hours and days short.

Week one (starting feb. 1-4): 1hr. not a great start at all,had a death in the family so that really threw me off.

Week two (feb. 5 - 11):not a good week

Week three (feb. 12-18):2 days, 1.5 hr

Week four (feb.19-25):4 days, 4 hours YA!

Week five (feb.26 - 28):

:carrot: :cb:  :woops: :lifter: :running: :ebike:

Soon2BFitChick 01-30-2007 02:04 PM

Hi. I wanna join you!!! :woohoo:

I am setting my goal as 50,000 steps from all 5 weekdays and 10,000 or more on weekends. That comes out to about 10k each day for weekdays and 5k wkend days. But it can fluctuate as long as the week ends the same. This can include walking, jogging, on treadmill or outside, marching in place, dancing, playing basketball, hide-and-seek with the kids, etc. LOL! (Usually it takes at least 45 mins of purposeful walking a day plus my whole day of normal work to get to 10,000.) :exercise:

I will give myself 2 days off (if I need to take them) during the month only to allow for when I just am not home all day bc of errands, etc. or we are driving in the car out of town, etc. and I just can't find any time to move. If I see that I need more days off, I'll change it for next month. But I want to try this and see. :D

Let's do it! :strong:

Hugs, Selina

I'm sticking w/ my goal of 30 min./day of exercise. Walking, cycling, weightlifting, etc. I'm also keeping track of overall mileage (for exercises that can be measured that way.) My goal of total exercise for Feb. is 840. I hope to at least meet that amount -- missed the last two months' goals (for weird reasons) -- and, possibly, I'll exceed it.

Soon2BFitChick: Normally we post a calendar type post and edit everyday so you and others can see your progress for the whole month. Also we post conversation post as well. What part of Houston do you live in? DH and I moved from Katy to College Station about a year and half ago.

Soon2BFitChick 01-31-2007 11:44 AM

Dolly! Hi there fellow Texan. :D

We live in Katy now! We just bought a really great home out here off Mason, right above I-10. You know where that is? So far we like it alot. We used to live off of Hwy 6 and Westheimer.

Ok, I will do that, just copy and paste it back into each day. Can do. Cool to find someone from here. Nice to meet you. And thanks for the info.

Let's see.. so I need to put each day on here then.

How funny is this! That is where we used to live, but north of I-10 off of Fry. I love that area of Houston especially old Katy, it still feels like a smaller town sometimes, but now it has grown so much!

Soon2BFitChick 01-31-2007 12:00 PM

That's cool. Any good parks nearby and walk tracks? I know of that one park, hmm.. can't remember, it's named after a woman, Mary something?..

Yeah, it has grown, everyone here says so. Still growing, they are building lots of school to accomodate everyone. It's crazy. But it's a really nice place to live. I'm glad we decided to move here.

dollypie 01-31-2007 01:04 PM

Mary Jo Peck Park is great. It is at Franz and Katy-Hockley Cutoff. There is a pond you walk around and has a fishing pier for the kiddos. They have outside playground equipment. Also there is an indoor pool for swimming laps, I never did that though.

Soon2BFitChick 01-31-2007 01:38 PM

Thanks! That's the one. I love it there. Used to go there when we lived in Houston even. They even have free mini golf. Just borrow balls and clubs. It's cool.

I wanna join :D

Hi everyone, I am planning to kick off my excersize plan as soon as I get the go ahead after going in for surgery on the 6th. So I will miss the first half but I still want to join :D

My goal is to do all my chores (yes this is excersize to me) for the first two week and some yoga for the first week and second if I can... and then start my Power 90 series and complete 5 workouts a week. Sounds weird, I know :)

Hi all , new here! I am so excited by this thread, just what I needed! I would like to join the Febuary challenge as well. I am inspired! My goal will be as follows:

Goal1: Walking 4x per week for 40 minutes (to include a 5 minute pre and post walking warmup).

Goal2: Upper body strength training 3x per week (2 sets (12-15 reps) of each muscle group/s (back, arms, shoulders, and chest). NOTE: Rachel Mclish, great book on strength training. I have the old one but still refer to it.

Goal3: Denise Austin video tape (of my choosing) 8x per month.

I love walking outdoors though and as they say, burns those cals even more walking in the cold but feel fortunate to be able to use the treadmill in really cold or inclement weather. Ah still, I remember one year I didn't let the cold stop me. I walked in winter, you warm up once you get going. Anyways, I so look forward to sharing our goals and support with another. : ) Take care

 Hello everyone, I am glad to see so many takers this month. HI everyone who joined me last month. I didn't quite make my January goal, I was about 165 minutes off but this month I will make it. Since I joined the gym it will be much easier to get in my minutes for the next couple of months.

FullSteamAhead 02-01-2007 07:44 PM

Hi everyone :) When I woke up this morning I was so happy that my leg was okay (long story, ankle pain intermittently due to old break), I was so afraid it would impede my exercise plan, it is something I need and want desperately. Needless to say, after my coffee I hopped on my treadmill (before my leg had a chance to get sore from chores, etc.) and did my 40 minute walk (actually 42). It felt great!!!!!! I did have to push myself to do it though and once I started I loved it! I know without a doubt that this (the thread, support, etc.) helped me tremendously............so I want to say ty!

THe only thing I am retracting from my original posted goals is the exercise video. I will still stick to the goal of 8x per month but it just may not be a denise Austin tape, that's all. I am mainly aiming or cardio right now but of course it may include toning, etc. ( I loved her old tapes, I sent away for some new ones and quite frankly I had no idea one of them was kickboxing! lol. Just the thought of that with my ankle in this sh ape or even current physical shape send me into a tizzy). Hopefully I can manage the other tape (need to find my step thing for that though) but either way I will still do the 8x per week additional tape/video, etc. of exercise.

How is everyone else doing? I Hope everyone had a great day. I'm really not sure quite what to do, am I supposed to paste and copy my month plan in my post with the exercise I did today for 2/1? I was hoping someone else had so I can follow suit.

FullSteamAhead 02-01-2007 07:49 PM

Back again. Soon2befitchick, in regards to your question, I don't know how they usually do it...I am new here but I for one would love it if you post everyday. I really think it helps to be able to post everday, what we did or did not do, etc. (time available of course, I know it's not always easy). Well, I for one am all for it so go right ahead! :) I know for me, it's a good way tohold myself accountable and it's funnnnnnn.

OK, I'm in too....Thank YOu ladies!!!!
I've been hunting for a place to account for my exercise. My February goal is to do Interval training (wts./cardio) 4 hours per week....I started working out again on Jan. 2. In the last month I've lost 4 " off my waist, about 1 inch on each thigh and today I was able to zip a pair of pants that used to look like a bad joke. I've gone from zero exercising to 3.25 hours per week. This week will be 3.5 hours total.

2/1-38 mins. Interval training
2/2-37 mins. Interval training---about 65% cardio

This month is going to ROCK!!! I love all of the exercise plans we have going on here.

I have personally been doing exercise challenges since October I didn't make my goal at all in December (not even close) January I was very close, but just ran out of days :) I am telling you this because even if we don't get to our goal we still have done a great job!!

I cant' wait for this months goal because I actually joined a gym. (although I am starting a new job and gotta work out the finer details of GETTING to the gym.)

No gym this morning though, I am going swimming this evening.

RowdyBliss 02-02-2007 01:33 PM

A little slow on the uptake because of life business getting in the way, but here I am. :D Once I get this move out of the way, on Monday it's back to reality and back to the gym! Looking forward to it, actually.

My goal: Before the end of the month, I want to be able to run at least a half-mile without stopping. I want to continue four days a week at the gym.

Feb. 1- Nothing, except probably hauling more boxes!
2- more moving
3- MORE moving - we were completely moved in today!
4- nothing
5- nothing
6- 45 minutes on the elliptical
7- nothing

jcatron, you will love the gym. I am addicted. If I didn't have a membership I would never work out. It is part of my daily routine. Gym, work, home.

jcatron243 02-02-2007 06:52 PM

I already love it. After the first couple of days I needed a day for my body to recouperate. I love the elliptical machine. I still haven't tried out the weights though, I am waiting for DH to show me how they work. I have been going at 5:30, but I will have to start going at 5 and heading to work (must be there by 7, I am not sure exactly how it will work though, we'll see).

100percentME 02-02-2007 08:24 PM

Well, everyone, ive decided to up my goal!!
From 500 minutes to 700 ( about 140min a week, 35minutes 4 dayz a week)

Well - I'm late to join but I am in again. I hit all my goals in Jan. except swimming, I was 48 laps short. It came down to traveling and not having access to a pool. I'm going to be traveling in Feb. too so I decided to focus on days of exercise since I never know what kind of facilities hotels will have.

My goal is 24 days exercising. At least 7 days swimming and 7 days weight training. The other 10 will be some combination of Yoga, walking, and whatever I find at hotel fitness rooms.
