Exercise Challenge October

Ok, time for a new exercise thread!

I borrowed the words from lovely ellis:

Hey, all!

Challenge yourself to a little more exercise than you did last month. (for some of us, that's not a lot)
Take a few minutes, get out of your chair, and move it!!

This month... I'm joining the gym again. And I'm committing to using my (finally blown up) new exercise ball 3-4 times a week, plus some running.

Come and join us!

Kate109 10-03-2006 03:45 AM

So, September is gone....it went really good for me in the exercise department last month.

This month (ok, started last Tuesday), I increased my workout I am now doing a 75- 120 min cardio/strength/movement skills/ plyometric (yeah, learned new words!) workout five times per week.

Tuesday workout: done

HarpoChicoGroucho 10-03-2006 05:04 AM

Haha -- for me ANY exercise this month will be an improvement over last month!!! I rode my bike once and walked/jogged a handful of times. I'm going to start aerobics again. I haven't done any in months. And I'm going to start my jogging program again.

ellis 10-03-2006 07:55 AM

Thanks for starting this, Kate! :)

Last month I did well. I've been back at the gym for three weeks. :running:
Now I have a cold, darn it.
I'm going to rest again today, and hope I have something in me for a workout tomorrow.

Oh... my plans for this month. Gym three times a week, including running and a small weight workout.

dgpebbles 10-03-2006 08:50 AM

Tisha___ 10-03-2006 12:25 PM

This month I am going to walk (treadmill) at least 1.5 miles 4 times per week, going at least 2 MPH. I am also going to TIVO Denise Austin's workout at 6:30am every morning and do it the next mornning at 6:00am...at least 4 times per week.

justjodi 10-03-2006 11:42 PM

sounds like everyone has great plans for this month, let's keep it moving everyone!!

i am still doing the weight routine 3 x a week, i upped my reps a bit for the next 2 weeks. i'm feeling stronger everyday. i am also up to 2.5 miles walking 5x a week. i also added a few crunches in here and there, i'm going to work on being a little more consistent with that.

we're off to a wonderful start!!

Kate109 10-04-2006 03:03 AM

Yawn.....Good morning!

Ok, Wednesday exercise: done!
Maybe I wasnīt quite awake this morning during exercises, but it seems as if there would be a tiny enhancement in the movement skills department...a little, tiny one....

Ok, letīs make October to a moving month! :carrot: ;)

ellis 10-04-2006 11:31 AM

Donna, I totally caught your cold. I am so sick. :( I'm glad YOU'RE feeling better!

I'm amazed at how well everyone is doing. Can we keep this up? :hat:

I did go to the Y today. I decided to bike instead of running. Biked for 30 minutes and did a few weights. I think I have a fever now...

FishWoman 10-04-2006 04:11 PM

It's been awhile since I have been in this thread, but part of my re-commitment to an appropriate life-style is keeping up on the boards (plus, I missed you all:^: ).

I walked 30 minutes on the treadmill today (2 miles).

I am going to try to re-introduce weights to my workouts this month, but we shall see how that plays out.

curlylou 10-04-2006 05:28 PM

back at it

Here I am back at it. Started this last jan and need to get my butt in gear again.:( This time I also have 2 buddies  to help me out and I hope they get on this site. I walked the stairscase at lunch today (3 flights up and 3 flights down). Goal? to keep that up the rest of this week and to walk those steps 2x a day.:flow1:
