Hi Ladies!

I've been losing weight - but not the easy way. I lost my dear doberman, Walker, from advanced heart disease on Monday morning at 4:35 AM so I have been unable to eat much. But today, Wednesday, I have a spinning class at noon and really need to exercise.

I'm glad to see all of you so motivated!
Let's keep it going!!

Best, Kitty

Hey, Kitty... I'm so sorry about Walker. I lost my cat just over a year ago and sometimes... Well, we don't have regular kids, just furry ones...so...

Oh, that's her, over <----there, by the way... just about what she looked like!

Kitty: I am so sorry to hear of Walker's passing. (((((((Good vibes))))))))

I just had to euthanize my oldest pet rabbit, whom I had with me for 9 1/2 years. (she was about 6 months when i got her)....It hurst, and never gets easier to go through with subsequent "furchildren". Perhaps we could all support each other during these sad times in our lives. Anyhow, hugs to you, and to lala. Maybe all of our furkids will get to know each other "over the rainbow bridge".

Well, let's see... not my best week, but better than anything for the past several weeks. I did great Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I got sick sick sick to my tummy on Thursday, so nuttin'. Today I walked a little and did something cardio-esque. Don't ask...

So, tomorrow I need to jump on the elliptical again to make sure I get at least 4 days in this week. My goal is 5 days a week, but I'm not going to kick my own butt too hard unless I fall under 4. Sigh, and I have my midterm exam tomorrow, too... ugh...

Hi Ladies!

Thanks for sharing your stories. I guess I found the secret to weight loss - since I've lost about 4 lbs this week - have your pets die. I think I'd rather be fat than to feel the pain I have felt this last week.

Anyway, I did my spinning class on Wednesday and I plan to do about 20 miles on the bike trail today.

I hope your week went well (say that 5 times fast! LOL) and that your exercise plans are working

Let's keep up the fantastic work!!!

GO LADIES!!!!!!!

Kitty and Molly, I'm so sorry you've lost your pets. Sending you each a big hug...

Lala, I hope you're feeling better soon.

I have a suspicion that I'm going to start exercising tomorrow. So I'll be back.
Keep up the good work, girls!

Anybody here exercising? No, eh?

Harpo, I believe we said we'd do SOMETHING this week. Would you like me to start a fire under your butt?

I think I'm exercising this evening. I'll keep you posted. I know you're all terribly interested.

And where is everyone else?
What about Jodi? I wonder if she's smoking and feeling guilty...

I went for a long walk at a park near our home Sunday. It was easy until halfway through when I started going back uphill!!!!!

Yesterday I was uber lazy...and today I'm planning on doing a Mommy and me dance dvd.

Yay, Lesley!!
Hills are great. (okay, I hate them) We live at the top of a hill, and when DH and I walk regularly, he insists on us zig-zagging up and down the streets/hill.

I ran tonight! First exercise in about four weeks. I almost died. My lungs felt like they were about the size of a couple of pennies. But I did it! Two minutes walking, two minutes running for five times.
Oh, and I did it with a running group. All chubbies. It was GREAT!
And then I came home and had a major nap. heh heh

ellis Yes, please I need a fire. I'm starting to get that not-exercising "ache" when I'm inactive for awhile. Maybe it's more like an "itch' or something. I want to sweat. I need a good sweat, esp. after today's eating.

Good for you, Ellis!!! I wish I could run! I have tried many times in my life even when I was in great shape and I just can't do it!

My best friend and I used to play raquetball everyday and sense we both have babies it is quite a bit more difficult to find time now! I think we are going to play a tournament with our hubbies this weekend though! That will rock! Hmmm now I must find my raquet!

Harpo!!
Get yer butt in gear, girl!

Thanks, Scooter!
Running is definitely not for everyone.
I love raquetball! (okay, I only played in high school, but it was a riot!) Have fun this weekend with your hubbies!!

I did a mini-workout this morning with my trainer. On the exercise ball. And I've bought myself a new one (it holds 2200 pounds, so I should be safe), and am about to blow it up...

Hi all! I have been in lurk mode for a while for some reason. I have been reading here and there, but not in a posting mood.

Exercise was great all of last week. I exercised for an hour every day immediately after work. Three days of cardio and two of weights. I've been so good!

Ellis, I noticed that you have taken up running again. I've been thinking about running lately, by starting the Couch to 5K program I've heard about. I'm wondering if I'm too heavy at 265-ish to start? Will it be too hard on my knees and ankles? I definitely have to find some better shoes first, and actually, it's waywayway too hot here in Fla. I will probably have to wait until September or maybe even October before it dips below high 90's and 100's here. Well, I'm just full of excuses, aren't I?

Lala, I'm hesitant to make any recommendations, but if I were you, I'd give it a try! There are a few women in my running class that are a little heavier than me (probably around your weight), and they're doing just fine.
I would definitely get some good shoes. They're worth every penny you can afford. Keep your eyes open... sometimes sports shops have some good sales!
I bought myself some Saucony running shoes. They were about $130. The older I get, the more I realize that paying more for my shoes is definitely worth it to my feet/knees/back/etc.
And as for bras... I'm going to get myself a couple of REALLY good sports bras when I have the money, but right now I wear two mediocre sports bras. Together.
Give it a try when the weather gets cooler, Lala. It can be very empowering.
And congratulations on your exercising this week... good job, hon!

Jodi, you're doing great. You're doing well with the smoking, and the rest will just fall (well, maybe not FALL! ) into place. Hang in there, girl!

Scooter, are you there?
Anyone else?

I just got off the treadmill. Did five, two-minute runs alternated with one-minute walks.
