Default Contest Advice & Help

Ok, Here is the deal...We are going to be starting a contest at work to lose weight. We are all going to be adding $$$to the pool every week and whoever loses the most weight that week will receive the$$$. So here is where I need help:

1. Does anyone have any advice on how we can do this fairly? (People who weigh more will naturally lose more than someone who doesn't have that much too lose.)

2. I am going to heading the contest up...any suggestions on things I can do or add to make this more fun? Just wondering.

***Remember on that show the biggest loser how they calculated body fat instead of weight? or wait...maybe they did both...lol...not sure, but I know it needs to be fair. Has anyone ever participated in a contest like this?

Perhaps if you do it by % of body weight lost it would be fairer.

Exactly. That was just what I was going to suggest. To calculate how much, percentage-wise, a given person has lost, divide the amount lost by her total starting weight.

So, say, ten divided by 260. That's a three percent loss.

DON'T divide the amount lost by the person's *current* weight, but by the starting weight.

Good luck with your contest. I personally probably wouldn't do it b/c it would set me off worse than ever.

That's what I would do.
Good luck, and have fun doing it! (sorry... "have fun"... did that sound sarcastic? )

That sounds good...We can definitely use the body weight % to calculate. (And no Ellis, you didn't sound sarcastic...lol.)
