Speaking of Halloween candy...I'm not even buying any this year. :smug: My daughter will be with her dad this year and my boyfriend and I are going out to a movie.
I was curious about something...do you guys allow yourself a cheat day or a cheat meal? Or how exactly do you keep yourself from binging...avoiding junk altogether? |

That's appalling!!! :yikes: I once hung up on one, and when he called back, I didn't answer. He left me a message on my machine: "Thank you very "effing" much." I actually felt badly for him. That's a LOVELY welcome sign, btw!! :) I had a lovely time with my sister and nephew yesterday. He's so beautiful. He smiles a lot now, and laughs. (he's about three months) :bb: So, I bought a bunch of healthy foods yesterday, but somehow had a few slip-ups, and managed to gain another two pounds. CURSES!!! Today I'm using my medicated puffer with a vengence, am going to get some exercise in, and will eat my veggies. |
I don't think I could do a cheat meal/day or anything - I'm not there yet - It'd turn into a cheat weekend or week...
|
I do have a cheat meal. on Saturday I go out with my husband and have whatever meal I want "within reason" It works for me because I look forward to it all week. I still log it on fitday but if I go over 1600 calories on Saturday it's OK.

Wazzu, I was trying a cheat day and that didn't work out well for me at all. It became more of a binge day. What I ended up doing was increasing my calories from 1200/1300 to 1500/1700 on Fridays and Saturdays. Having limits really works better for me.
I am back from New Hampshire and my visit with my sister. Phew! That was a busy 4 1/2 days. I ate pretty well, not perfect and I wasn't able to log into Fitday. We'll see how I fared when I weigh in at the gym tomorrow. I did get in my 8 mile run which is my longest to date. It was a beautiful fall New England morning and was wonderful, even if my legs are still a little sore 2 days later. |
Ellis - It's so easy to get off track and stay there for awhile. I was off for 6 months and desparate before I started this medical fast. I slid a little this weekend. About an extra 1000 calories. We are having beautiful Fall weather and it's making me restless but I don't know what it is I want. Then when the evening chill comes on I want a nice dinner with a glass wine, maybe a little cheese... Sigh. Anyone ever feel this way?
As for cheat meals, you have to be careful. Six years ago I lost 85 lbs. I started allowing myself cheat weekends, then the weekends got longer until they became the whole week - that and some orthopedic problems brought back the 85 lbs +. So the best is to write everything down and be cautious about what you cheat with. Ellis - that small change you did with the chips is an eye opener. Calories do matter. Happy Halloween all. :) :) :) |
