rachel~ way to go! 45 minutes-good for you! That is way too early in the morning for my night owl self, oy. I've been there on the emotional outburst thing, but mostly it's just me dorking out and wanting to whoop! for myself.
21 minutes, huh? Alright...it's a beautiful day here today sunny 83 normal humidity...I'm going to try to run outside, which is always a little harder for me than the treadmill. 21! At this rate, you guys will have me running for an hour by the end of the month! (I'm just kidding about that-don't get any ideas!) Melissa~good job on the strength training--glad you made yourself do it! |
Last night I decided to jog over to the afterschool care place to pick up my daughter and I took a long roundabout way to try to get in my challenge minutes. I overestimated the distance though, b/c I got there in 19min, so I didn't match my time or Rachel's challenge.
My shoulder is still pretty sore from the other day, so today I'm going to try to get some low to moderate cardio in for like 40min and maybe some abs which I feel I've been slacking on this week compared to last. I used the elliptical machine on a higher power setting and I was amazed at how much it was working my leg muscles and heartrate at even a slow pace, so I'll probably do that. good luck today everyone on workouts! |
You are doing so great Melra! Take it easy on your shoulder, if you like to treat that kind of stuff with heat try Thermacare products. I love them for sore muscles.
I did my upper body workout this morning and just ran my 25 minutes at lunch. It was a 4:1 day, so the most I ran at one time was 4 minutes. I was tempted to try to run the entire 25 minutes, but I just go a new watch with a fancy interval timer. I can set it to beep after 4 minutes then after 1 minute then start over. It is fantastic. |
melissa~ when you are doing your intervals, do you use a pretty brisk pace when you're walking, or is it more of a cool down, regroup minute before running again?
|
It is a fast pace. "Fitness walking" as our coaches call it. When I do it on the treadmill I run at about 4.2 and walk at about 3.8. Hope that helps!

Girls, I'm going to close this thread and start a new one for September. (sorry... it's a wee bit late)
