Default Daily Thread -- Friday, January 16

Risa and shine!

I've been reading what was posted after I logged out last night and barely have time to get us started...being the early bird that I am!

I LOVE the favorites thread you started, Chris! I can't wait to add mine!

The HP poll is interesting, too. I've already cast my vote and checked the results several times, Kat.

I'm such a nosy girl! Have you noticed the trend here for things that appeal to me most?

I'm doing the Friday dance this morning. Woo-Hoo! Prayers for me as I have a college student observer for a couple of hours this morning. It shouldn't bother me, but it always makes me jittery. That darn perfectionism again!

I have prayed for each and every one of you! Have a fantastic Friday!

Love,
CHristy

Default Will post after work (here's a meditation)

Abstinence is freedom.

Because we are abstinent today, we are free to do and enjoy the good
things that come our way and we are equipped to deal with our share
of life's inevitable problems.

Joining a program for people with eating disorders gives us tools to
use and a structure to follow on our journey out of compulsion into
freedom. If we begin to get bored with the mechanics of our program--
such as food plans--we need to remember what it was like before
abstinence. Then, we were not free.

I am grateful to wake up in the morning alive and alert and free of
the after-effects of a binge. I'm grateful to go through the day
ready for work, play, problems, and challenges. I remember what it
was like for me before abstinence, and I do not want to go back to
that place. I am grateful for freedom.

*

May I stay abstinent and free today.

Christy - I am a strange duck. I LOVE to be observed! Hope it went well for you.

I have been feeling kinda blue for the past few days, but I'm pulling out of it. I thank God every minute that I didn't turn to food.

I think I'm going to go retype the Step One post that I typed last night.

Where is everyone? Come out, come out wherever you are!

Jennellle: That's awesome you didn't turn to food. Yay you!

Christy: I hope a bunch take the poll - I, too found it interesting. I hope everything went well this morning.

My day was average. Seeing friends tonight to celebrate one of their birthdays.

Default Yikes...

I was expecting to have a hard time catching up with what had gone on while I was offline! I second Kat...where IS everyone? ellis? Chris?

Kat -- Observation went great; thanks for thinking of me! An average day beats a bad one by a mile, doesn't it?

Jennelle -- I can't believe you like to be observed! After 9 1/2 years I still get butterflies! I've always done really well on my evaluations and I know that it is an honor for the admin to ask me if I'll take a college observer, but STILL. I have faith that I'll grow up someday soon.

Sorry you've been feeling blue, but I'm proud of you for not eating your way through to the other side. That is wonderful! Excellent share in the step thread, too. So much of what you wrote was familiar to me as well.

Oh and hope you don't mind if I copy your little OA addition to your signature! I'd been wondering how to make mine a little clearer...

Later ladies,
Christy

Christy - I decided to add the "OA" part when a woman on another thread asked me what program I was following. I explained OA and OA abstinence and she posted that she thought it meant that I was abstaining from sex until I reached my goal!
