Default Well! That blew it.

Today has been as cold as I can ever remember it to be and my poor old body has been screaming for sugar all day. I just knew hubby had some lollies hidden. Fatal mistake asking him for some because I ate about 15 of those little sugar bombs. I am going to have to find a new way of dealing with the cold I think. All that sugar has given me a headache but it was so good at the time. Guilty is good. Makes climbing back on the wagon so much easier.

i am always cold too...always ALWAYS cold...if i manage to get warm, the instant i get "not warm" again, i am chilled to the bone and remain cold for a very long time

i always have craved sugars to warm up...always thought it was just me lol...it's taken me a very long time to learn that my body wants warmth, or sleep, or to take a break and sit down, instead of eating sugar....i also struggle with sugar addictions as well, i think

do you get cold often like that? i wonder what causes it....i hate to run the furnace just to warm myself up (and heat the whole house/waste oil in the process)...lately i've found myself finding excuses to drive somewhere, short errands etc, because i can run the car heater SUPER hot and warm up all the way to my bones....i wear sweatshirts constantly, layered with tee shirts...and if i'm not cold, i'm "just right", never really HOT

Well given your location I can well imagine why you are cold and I would think your summers are short and worth waiting for. I have felt the cold a considerable amount more since losing so much weight and also I think the fact that I lived in Australia for 17 years before returning to New Zealand where the climate is so much cooler, is a big factor. I simply have not re-acclimatized,.
We are beginning winter here in New Zealand now and are experiencing some of the coldest weather recorded since 1918 so I can be forgiven for complaining. I too am into layers, usually three or four. When I have had enough, early evening sees me dashing upstairs to put on my pyjamas, knee length sheep skin lined indoor boots and my fleecy robe. Unexpected callers have to suck it up. At my age I think I can do what I like. Back to feeling cold. Sometimes it feels like ice water is flowing through my veins and I cannot get warm no matter what I do. I am physically fit and in excellent health at the moment. You might mention it to your doctor next visit just to put your mind at rest that you don't have a hidden problem.

I feel for y'all!! I live in New Orleans, Louisiana where the temperature is pretty high almost year round. I cannot imagine having to suffer through your climate's brutal cold weather.

We are also dealing with pretty weather here in South Carolina, USA. Well, New Zealand sounds cold, but the alaskan makes me think of "the creamation of Sam McGee". He wanted to be creamated so he could finally get warm.lol.

I hope it is not that bad. I am a little bit cold natured myself, it has gotten better since taking the thyroid meds, but I love a cup of hot tea. It is sweet, but not overbearingly, (I add a little sugar or honey and cream) and it does the trick to warm me up). The added heat to your core also does wonders.

I don't think those lollies will add too much trouble, you probably burned them off trying to get warm.

Thanks girls. I feel better about over indulging today. I am sure it will keep me honest until the next mad craving and hopefully it will be a least a week away. The climate in New Orleans and SC sound much more civilized. I could do with living somewhere where there are not such variations after the warmth of Australia.

While I was born and raised in Alaska, and have lived my whole life here, I don't live really far north where it gets much colder...I live in the southeast part, which is coastal and a temperate rainforest...which means it's basically damp, humid and rainy most of the year...We get snow, alot this year actually, but mostly it just rains...We haven't had a day without measurable rain since April

I used to live farther north, in the Interior, and grew up on a remote homestead without electricity or running water. Winters typically dropped to 60 degrees below zero for weeks on end. And I DO NOT remember being all that cold as a child lol. But here where it rains endlessly, I'm just freeeeezing all the time.

I got a heated mattress pad for Christmas this past winter. We would turn it on about 30 minutes before getting into bed, and climbing into a warm bed at night was one thing I spent a lot of time looking forward to on cold days.
