Default Just letting the stress out

I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed today and hope that by getting this feeling out I can avoid a binge. My DH invited some of his friends over tonight and now I need to clean the house. Not a big deal until you add the fact that we just came home from a camping trip and I haven't done laundry since last week. I work tonight (11-7) so I need to take a nap sometime this evening, and I can't find my wallet or ID badge. I know the missing things are somewhere in this house, but every time I start to look for them I get overwhelmed because I think my house is a mess, and I tend to end up in the kitchen (danger zone). I just need to take a few min. to reorganize my thoughts and hopefully I can avoid a binge and get ready for house guests tonight.

I can do this and I will reach my goals!

Glad you're sharing here instead of eating - I do the same! Is there any way hubby could pitch in a bit and do some of the last minute cleaning, or is he coming straight home from work with friends? If not, take some time now to relax a bit or nap - I lose things all the time, and the more anxious and stressed I get while looking the less likely I am to find it and when you wake up you'll be refreshed. I have one fortune cookie slip tacked onto my cork board at home and it says 'There is enough time and space for everything you want to do'. It helped me get through a hectic semester at college.

As a side note, I love camping. I'm hoping to get out one weekend this Summer and go!

It's very healthy that you stopped on here to vent about your frustrations before turning to the fridge for help.

Yes! You can do this!

I am like you, when I know company is coming, I freak about cleaning the house. Relax, they are coming to visit you NOT to judge you on how your house looks. Good job on stopping in for support before eating!!!

If my boyfriend invited people over right when we got home from somewhere and our house was messy... oh boy lol he would definitely have to do most of the cleaning himself I hope he's going to help!!

I was thinking the same thing. If my husband did that he would be helping with getting the house clean. That or him and his friends would be hanging out in a messy house

It is great that you stopped by here to vent rather than doing any emotional eating. I need to learn to do the same thing.
