Default Why do I do this.....

So my biggest weakness is icecream. More specifically Ben and Jerrys coffee heath bar icecream.

I have cravings for other things, but with those other things I can shrug it off and drink some water and be fine. But for some reason when I get a craving for that icecream I become out of control. I've tired waiting it out, eating a healthy alternative snack, but its like once it gets in my mind, theres no turning back

To make matters worse, after I get the icecream I tell myself "Ok Lisa. You can have this, but in MODERATION. You WILL NOT eat the whole thing. But I never seem to be able to do that.

Does anyone have any tips or words of advise?

How funny that you should ask this today! I just had a McDonald's chocolate-dipped cone about 30 minutes ago. It is my mid-week treat, but I counted all of the calories, protein, and carbs, and I worked them into what I'm eating today.
It's not a cheat for me if I just make it another food I sometimes eat. I don't love ice cream as much as other foods, but if it is in my house I'll eat it. So while I still allow myself to eat it, I don't buy it in anything more than a single size. I agree that we can't give in to all of our cravings, but if yours is so intense try to make it work! Sometimes the smallest little things can help us to keep going as long as they don't derail us.

Ben and Jerry's has tiny little 1 serving cups of ice cream, I don't know if they have all flavors, but I think they only come in at about 100 calories for the little cup. I'm warning you, it's not big, but maybe you could buy one of those instead of a pint, so then if you eat the whole thing, it's only 100 calories instead of like 500+. I've seen them at Jewel (Albertson's and I think Acme in other areas) and Wal-mart. I think they're only like a buck too, so it won't break the bank. That, or buy the size you normally do and scoop most of it in the trash as soon as you get it home. I can't say no, so sometimes if I HAVE to have something, I go to extreme measures to not over indulge.

I thank the dear Lord in Heaven that I have never seen or tried that ice cream...because if I had, I'm sure I'd be a complete crazed addict...

Manner of fact, Thanks a lot for letting me know that evil dope even exist! . YIKES...I will not look for it in my grocer freezer...I will not look for it in my grocer freezer... OMG!, Frozen crack.

Maybe you shouldn't look for it either! If you don't buy it, you can't eat it.
