Hot Water Bottle tip

    I learned of this tip on another eating disorder board that I am on and I wanted to share it with you.

    When you KNOW you are NOT hungry, place a filled hot water bottle on your tummy. I don't know why it works, but it does. The warmth of the bottle helps warm your insides and it sends some signal to the brain. I am such an emotional eater that when I tried this when I was upset instead of eating, it helps me differentiate between true hunger and emotional hunger. It really felt good to have that warmth. I think it's kind of like a security thing. I don't care, it's way better than gorging myself and it feels good.

  • That's an interesting one. I would have to have one with straps for when I get stressed out a work and want to snack!!
