Today I spent the day with 3 friends - one of them has just won an Audi Convertible car, and wanted to celebrate. We ate a massive gourmet lunch of several courses, then went out to a pizza house for tea, AND I had dessert, too.
I am approximating I ate at least 4000 calories.
I was hungry and desperate for food when I got there, so basically just inhaled the food from the word go. We all pigged out, but I think I was the worst.
Now I feel horrible. Only one week in (with some real success, too) and a social event undoes it all.
Not only that, but I'm going out with another friend tomorrow, who I always end up overeating with!
What to do?

Don't worry, tomorrow is a new day. Continue on your normal diet and try to eat lightly. Don't starve yourself, but don' indulge tomorrow. I think this kind of thing happens to all of us. When you go out with your other friend try to order something light. Maybe eat something to fill you up before you go out so you aren't famished when you get to the restaurant?
Today is a new day, we all have our bad days, dont be to hard on yourself. try to make good choices today when your out.. if iu have a salad...easy on the dressing
Start over right now. Eat something healthy the next time you're hungry. It wasn't just one day that caused you to gain weight, so it's not just one day that can wreck your diet. The only way that you'll wreck your diet is if you don't get back on track.
Do something different with that friend that you normally overeat with. Or plan exactly what you're going to eat and stick with the plan. Or if you really don't think you can handle going out with this friend, cancel.
It's important to remember that it's not all or nothing. One day is not a big deal, unless you keep saying that "tomorrow I'll be better..." because then tomorrow will never come.
It's ok - just look forward, not behind, like everyone's saying. Everyone falls. Just dont let one bad day turn into two.
plan what you will eat with your friend - something healthy - grilled chicken salad, etc, and stick to it - you will begin to feel much better and in control again!
I did the same thing yesterday. I overrate, had a slice of cream pie and had lots and lots of buttered popcorn. I like the way MariGrace puts it. I know I cannot continue to eat like that, so I stopped right now. I ate a good breakfast, and I am back on track and planning my meals for the day.
When you fall down you get right back up and keep moving.
You could even tell your friend what's up... You could make light of it or tell her that you're SERIOUSLY trying to watch what you eat... You just might find support (I usually do) and sometimes we end up doing something not food related, or maybe just getting coffee somewhere. And then you might find some more permanent support for the rest of your journey. =)
I messed up my diet on Sunday, too - chips, fizzy drinks, garlic bread...
However, I still did all my exercise throughout the pigouts, and went bodyboarding yesterday, as well.
Today I am back on the wagon (1.2kgs heavier!) and I think all will be well.
It seems to be the social events and special occasions that mess my diet up.
I would suggest that next you have a social outing at a restaurant or coffeehouse, see if they have a web site with their menu on it and if there's nothing there that will assist you to getting to your goal, choose another place that will.
YOU WILL REACH YOUR GOAL!!

I feel ya, I'm in the same boat. I had an amazing day. Was doing amazing, went to the fridge and wanted something sweet, so I decided on a 100 calorie yogurt got it all out, and got the idea I wanted cookie dough and I could make some and just have a little bit, 1 bowl of sugary diet ruining goodness later. I'm sick to my stomach, 1. Because I haven't had this amount of sugar in who knows how long at once sitting, 2. Because I'm ashamed of myself....
I need to learn how to avoid all this. Obviously the choices I made today weren't satisfying enough. More protein. Less carbs. Must have been an off day. We will do better with this. We will make better choices tomorrow. We can't take back what we've done we can only do our best tomorrow to make healthier decisions.
