Binge-free challenge ~ Aug. 31 - Sept. 6
Good Monday morning, chickies! Let's make this a binge-free week. All are welcome. :)

I am in! No binge last night. Really helps to have absolutely nothing yummy in the house!! I kept opening the cabinets and closing them. Ended up with 2 prunes. Also talked dh out of a bagel midnight snack. We battled the bulge together.
Have my lunch with me today. Feeling positive today. Looking to get a groove going. |

Was doing so great last week. But had camp reunion weekend - 33yrs. Love the camp! Love my camp friends! Eating was not great though. There wasn't much to choose from. And we had snacks in the cabin. I binged a bit. I am up 4 lbs this morning. Uggh. Did walk a ton and climb up and down - back and forth to our cabin. And went on a beautiful hike. kittycat40: Great job with the prunes and the no-bagel-for-dh! We are mostly a yummy-food-free house, too. It helps. This is day 1 of a binge free week! :carrot: Ash |

I would love to join this challenge. My eating has not been great and the number of fries I ate last night would definitely qualify as a binge. But I am back on track today and really want to make this a binge-free week. cheers Erika |
Soooo fell off my rocker on Saturday. Yikes! It was really not cool and I felt so yucky afterwards.

I need to join this challenge. I've been so-so with my diet and exercise over the last couple weeks and need to get back in the right headspace. So I will stay on track this week, no binges!

I'm back again after a couple week absence which wasn't a good thing. I had one of my worst binges in two months last Friday and I was so disappointed and frustrated with myself as well as getting physically sick from it (a first for me). I'm determined to be binge free as I can't continue this cycle. I am working on day 3 binge free and hope this challenge will motivate me to keep going. |

I'd like to join and make this a binge-free week. For the past week, maybe two, (maybe three? eek!), I've been allowing myself to eat whatever I want at night, and now I feel like I've gained a bunch, and I'm not happy. So starting last night, this will be my goal, no overeating at night. Because every time I binge, the next morning I wake up with the worst regret/guilt/feelings of disgust. Not a great way to start the day, feeling full from the night before, and disappointed. So hard to change habits that I've had since childhood... but I have faith that once I get going, it'll only get easier and with everyone's support, one day I will be eating normal portions and not thinking twice! xo |
Another day with a big smiley face! My food cravings weren't as bad today. I was disappointed when I got on the scale this morning, but it wasn't my official weigh-in day so I should have just stayed off of it!!!!:(
I know, I know! I can't judge my worth by a number on a scale. But I sure feel good when it shows a loss. :D |
Yay - Day 1 OP with food and exercise, no binges. Time to keep it going ...

Waking up to start my 4th day binge free, yesterday went pretty well for me and just trying to do it a meal at a time right now. I'll try to check back during the day to see how everyone is doing. Have an awesome day! |

Good morning, Chickies- Day 10 for me. I woke feeling "wierd" this morning. Just kinda achy and out of sorts. Then I discovered my scooter key is not where it should be... so I couldn't go put out the mail... I need to find that key. It's gotta be here. Okay. So I can't let any of this throw me off this feel-good-about-myself plan to remain binge-free. I joined the September challenge to have another means of support. I find myself reading the threads here like a junky lookin' for a fix! LOL (or a foodaholic looking for some junk food) Here's to a good day for all of us! Spicy:^: |

Count me in as well. Havent binged this week so far yay :) Last week, in particular the weekend was not good for me, I ate WAY to many candies!

Day 2 binge-free - complete. OP for eating and exercise. It wasn't easy. I got really stressed out with planning for the new school year and I felt ravenous (emotionally) all day. But I did it. on to day 3!!

Still reading information as I've just joined...SIL joined Bernstein diet,lordy she's already lost 19.5 lbs in what 2 1/2 weeks...not the route I would take so I'm sure my progress will be lengthly...might be intimidating seeing I work with her and watching her loss while my scales don't reflect my effort but will keep in faith and hope by the end of September I'll have lost at least 5 lbs...
Could you tell me what diets you are following..know it's probably listed somewhere and I'll just have to research more thread..any help will be greatly appreciated |

Didn't binge yesterday, but DID overeat (had 2 Fiber 1 muffins after dinner, the kind you make, not the premade).
Dinner was very healthy, at least. So far so good today. |

I'M back
Sorry to be away, I gained some weight back and have been battling binges all summer. I want to be back here, and stop the bingeing and start eating properly again, as well as get back to being fit BUT, at this point have no real plan. So for this week, just not bingeing is my goal.

Hello Bessie Mary Alice :) I use calorie counting and try to stick to "whole" foods as much as possible - if I get near neat sugar or biscuits,chocolate and cakes it all goes wrong! I drink at least 2 litres of water a day and eat every 3 hours or so. When I am in control a typical day of food looks something like: Oatmeal or wholegrain cereal Whole grain bread with low fat cheese and carrot sticks Fruit -usually oranges Low fat yoghurt and a few nuts or seeds Lentils or beans with green veg and fish, low fat dairy or chicken. Eating regularly does help - it is when I go more than 5 hours without food that I hit the sugar and binge. Yesterday was my first binge free day for 3 days - we can do this together ladies. |

I was binge free yesterday, however I DID have ice cream b/c I saw my husband eat ice cream....weak in the will power department. Woke up early this AM to compensate...

Bessie... For me it's just healthy eating and portion control. YOur SIL will lose alot on Dr. Atkins...but you should research how MANY people gain it ALL plus MORE back!! over 90%!!!!!! You stick with a good healthy daily plan and you will do fine. SLow and Steady wins the Race! |
I was binge-free yesterday, but it was a difficult day. I was hungry all day! Or so I thought...
I'm beginning to see how compulsive I am about food. My body was hurting yesterday, and I seemed to feel like I needed to eat to feel better!:?: But with clinched fists I was able to stay within my food guidelines. To answer the question about what diets we're doing--- I have a portion controlled plan my doctor gave me, incorporating foods from the food groups. No sugar. Lots of veggies and fruit. It's a stormy day, and it's my volunteer day at the food kitchen. (See, everything I do seems to be centered around food.:D) Spicy |

This is part way through binge-free day 4. Feeling good. Decided to have a low fat breakfast thing and a sandwich for lunch - its a treat and I decided thursdays good for that. So far it hasn't caused me to binge. Whoopee. Have a great night! |
Hey great motivation here to stay as strong as the rest of you!
Congratulations to those who had to dig deep into their will power reserves. A day of eating totally on plan for me yesterday. I have failed in the past by going too low on fat as well as calories which starts a cycle of starving for 4 days and bingeing for 24 hours so I am having one high fat piece of shortbread a day at 65 cals, eating it slowly as a treat and it worked to keep me on plan - better than the 65 calorie low fat yoghurt I normally have. Stay Strong ,best wishes to all. |
