Confession time

  • I obsess about candy, chocolate anything with sugar, to the point that i'll tip the last of the milk down the sink so i have an excuse to go to the store and buy more junk...even though i know its killing me i get a rush when i get away with it. If my family knew what i was really eating behind their backs they would be horrified.
  • You're only cheating yourself, not them.
  • Oh rochemist is so very right.

The really bad news is the more you give in to that stuff, the worse the infamous "sweet tooth" will become. It's a horrible circular pattern that never stops and gets you nowhere--sort of like a gerbil on a wheel.

For what it's worth, I think you should try to figure out why you are doing this to yourself. What are you really hungry for?
  • rochemist and Thighs are right. You are hurting yourself, not them. I used to do the same thing. When I got mad at my husband, I ate junk. I finally figured out that I was doing that as a replacement for having a fight because I hate confrontation. I have had to learn how to disagree with him.

But you really aren't getting away with it. Eating in secret never stays a secret because it shows on our bodies.
  • I think you might want to try looking up some books on food addiction. I'm reading Conquer Your Food Addiction : The Ehrlich 8-Step Program for Permanent Weight Loss by Caryl Ehrlich and since then I've definitely seen a huge improvement in my relationship with food

  • You know, you are getting away with it in one sense, but your body is accounting for it. And I think you know it.
Are you happy where you are living? Is your family really judgemental about your weight? And are you hurting yourself with food to "get back at them" because they are too controlling or say lots of crappy things about you? And do you want to lose weight for YOU, or because it is what THEY want FOR you?

Hon, you've got alot of thinking to do, and it might be time to think about how to get out of the situation you are in if it isn't healthy for you. Cause it isn't about the junk you are eating, it is about WHY you are eating the junk...

    Big to you...

  • i totally know about eating in anger! The food seems to be more toxic!
