Not sure what it is about the weekends that make me think I can eat whatever I want. I do great on the weekdays. But the minute the weekend comes I just blow it. The summer shirts I was wearing last year...my 13 year old is wearing. VERY well by the way! That is NOT a good thing either way. So now that I know weekends are bad for me how do I avoid them? Just shows me I have to work harder at getting back OP!!!!

jane8760 06-19-2006 10:20 AM

Hi Brenda!

WOW LOOK AT YOU!!!!! It has been ages since I have talked to you and look at you now! You look soooooo skinny. You must have kept up with the low carb plan. Good for you...you look great!

Me on the other hand....

I check in here once in a while to see who is still around and the last time I was here I didn't see your name. Good to know you are still around.

Jane

Idealperson 06-19-2006 11:09 AM

This weekend was a real sucker....some weekends are worse than others...Father's Day and the Dairy Queen Cake...yikes! But this week will be better! So far this morning I have had SF jello with whipped cream and a few almonds. I always have a different mindset on the weekend and I need to make changes....let me know if you have any bright ideas....

lady_adnerb 06-19-2006 01:07 PM

Jane:  How's it going? There was a short time when I wasn't posting. Glad to see you're still around

Idealperson: When you figure out how to get through the weekend OP let me know. I've got the same problem!

It's noon and it doesn't look like I've got a lot accomplished in the house--even though I've been cleaning. This sucks! I've got half my water in, though. And it looks like I won't be getting exercise in. I'll settle for the water, eating OP and getting my house cleaned!! :) Well, break's over so it's time to get back to it.

Idealperson 06-19-2006 02:07 PM

Cleaning the house is exercise! What part of Wisconsin are you from? I am drinking my water and had a LC lunch...so far so good! Let's work on a plan to beat the binge next weekend!

RobinW 06-19-2006 03:29 PM

MsChris 06-19-2006 08:50 PM

I am with you guys on the weekend binge thing. I ate corn one night and a milkshake on another. Did great on Friday. I also have to make time to get online on the weekend to get some support through the rough spots. I still wish I had someone local to call when I am stressing. I moved my weigh day to Mondays. I thought it would encourage me to be good on Sunday, but so far, I still forget. Today's weight showed me down 2 more pounds. I can just kick myself when I think about what I may have lost if I didn't eat off program foods.

bnbsmommy1 06-19-2006 10:11 PM

hi girlies!!!! My mother board bit the dust and I'm sooooo glad I'm finally back online!! WHEW!! lots of new faces already, that is fantastic!!! I'm going to go back and do a lot of reading just wanted to check in here

lilybelle 06-19-2006 10:26 PM

hi everyone, I know what you mean about eating too much on weekends. they are harder for me too. This weekend I did great for a change. Only 16 and 18 carbs on Sat. and Sun. plus lots of swimming. Just wasn't very hungry. Today was my worst. About 30 carbs because I had Oats for breakfast. Plan for treadmill tonite. I have noticed that when I am hungry, a cup of coffee will sometimes make me a lot less hungry and I won't eat near as much. Good luck to everyone. I think I've lost another lb. but won't weigh til Thursday. I sure hope so.

slimminginohio 06-20-2006 07:30 AM

Well Father's Day weekend was a bust food wise but it sure did feel good. We took Dh out to lunch and I ate a grilled chicken salad but when the bread came I had one piece and also a slice of key lime pie. The pie was sooooo good! I did about the same on Sunday by having another piece of cake at church. I did even worse last night by fixing my kids cupcakes and eating two. I swear once you eat bad just for a little, it's like all the cravings come back. I wonder why it's impossible to just cheat a little and move on? Once I had that key lime pie, I had sugar cravings (obviously) for the rest of the weekend. I haven't gained anything yet but am guessing the scale probally won't move. I am also vacationing all this week and I'm afraid of how I may do. I'm packing a girdle just in case because I bought all new skinny clothes and I want to fit into them. I'm thinking of allowing myself berries so I won't feel deprived and be too tempted to eat junk. I'm just at 185 and that is just not enough weight loss for me. Perhaps if I were in the 160's I would feel better but I am only halfway to wear I would feel comfortable. I am really starting to think there is only so much weight I can lose before the woe gets to me and I think I am at that point. Help!

Tuesday

IP: What kind of plan do you have in mind for the weekend? And I made my DH a promise I wouldn't tell people where we lived (people online that is. lol). What are the chances we live close enough though? LoL

Robin:  How's it going?

Chris: WTG on the 2 pounds!! And good luck on the changing the date of WI!

Lacey: Welcome back!

Lily: WTG staying OP (even with the oats, I'd call it a success!) and the swimming had to have worn those off. Keep up the great work!!

SIO: Definitely add berries if you think you're getting limited! It'll add a bit of variety and let you continue on with the success you've been having. And I know what you mean about the "little" thing leading to more cravings!!

Yesterday was a good day. I got all my water in, PLUS the living room is pretty clean (considering what it used to look like it looks good now. lol). I ate a few more carbs than I wanted only because I had a last minute errand to run and then supper to think about and what I ate was worth 21 carbs alone. But it was SOOO good! It was some type of garlic shrimp thing. Anyway, I only ate half of it, but it was still too many carbs. But not going to sweat that as I did good the rest of the day :) I even drank a soda (which I want to cut out of my "menu" again) . Maybe what I should do is have soda that has splenda in stock along w/DH's soda. That way if I've GOT to have a soda at least I'll have something that might not stall me. Well, today's another day. :)

RobinW 06-20-2006 08:40 AM

Good Morning :coffee:

Its going alot better Brenda, thanks :)

Lacey~ I wondered where you got to....thought the new house was taking up alot of your time. Guess not, welcome back!!

Well yesterday was my first 100% op day in weeks!!!!!! Im very proud of myself too!!

Im going to have another one today!

Have a good one!

needtolose4me2 06-20-2006 09:59 AM

Good morning all!
Feel like I'm off to a good start this week. really pushing the exercise. In fact I hope that I won't show a gain or no loss because of it. I really want to hit my challenge goal and it's not looking good. Maybe I will focus more on cardio this week instead of resistance just to work off calories .
i could use some good inner thigh exercises and something to work the area under my armpit like around from my boobs. I have this roll there just doesn't want to budge.I'd probably go down 2 bra sizes if I could get rid of that!

Welocme back Lacey! How's the challenge going for you?

Mschrish - 2 lbs. is good! Some weeks I'd kill for that! We re about even with the challenge lbs to lose. So I know how you feel. I figured I'll just do the best I can at this point. Would really love to see 5 lbs gone this week but I think those days are over!

Lillybelle - Way to go! I can't wait for thursday! good luck

SIO - I wish I had the magic answer for you! ThankGod, I don't even crave sweets now. IF anything I miss having a bowl of cereal and stuff like that. When you asked how come you couldn't just cheat and then move on - You could ask the same about a drug addict or alcoholic messing up once and then just moving on. Just doesn't work that way if you are addicted to something and it sounds as if you are. Just keep your on the prize! You are doing really well . I try to do it in 10 lbs increments. Just think you are away from the 200's (hopefully) for ever! and done with the 190's as well. Don't think about 150. Think that you are only 5 lbs away from your next goal of being in the 170's ! It works for me. How long have you been OP? Perhaps you need to just STAY AWAY from all that tempts you. I had a problem with cake and cupcakes in the beginning so I stopped making them for my kids for a while. Hey, they are better off for it too when you think about it.
Just keep positive thoughts!

Brenda - Ihope things are going better for you and you get back on track 100% soon. what kind of soda has splenda??

Robinw - Yipee for you! way to go! Doesn't it feel good to say that you gave it 100% ?

Idealperson - I don't know if you couuld do this but in the beginning for me I would just stay clear of the kitchen the best I could. I didn't cook anyones meals. I made my husband cook for himself and the kids. I would get myown meal and eat before them. I know, great family weekend! But it was only for a couple of weeks until I saw weight loss and that made it easier.

Have a good day all!
Maggie

Idealperson 06-20-2006 01:01 PM

Great ideas! My weekend plan is to stock up on veggies and have my hubby do alot of grilling-healthy and no work for me! I also have a garden I should give some attention to and mow the lawn for exercise! That's my plan and I should stick to it!

Lady A.... I live on the beautiful Mississippi!

Spedmom 06-20-2006 08:00 PM

To those I remember from before (Brenda and Robin!), and to those I haven't met yet....I'M BACK!

Missed all of you so much, missed my WOE, missed everything about this site. Quick catch up since a year or so ago. I'm put on some of my weight (but not, thankfully, all) after discovering that my husband of 15 years had managed to remain faithful for all of about 2 months of that time. The divorce was final in March (gotta love Arizona -- takes only a few months to legally obliterate any semblance of your married life). My 12-year-old DD and I are now squeaking by in an apartment where we are licking our wounds and trying to get back on track. My self-esteem, obviously, took a massive hit, and I need to come back here for the support and to give myself a fighting chance. I began anew again today with Atkins and am 100% dedicated to getting my WOE and my figure back.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone again. Hey Brenda -- doyou still have your antler ring?

RobinW 06-20-2006 08:07 PM

Paula  Im glad you're back, and Im so sorry for all the stress you have been thru. You know, I had forgotten all about that antler ring of hers!!

lilybelle 06-20-2006 09:02 PM

I weighed today, couldn't wait. I am down a pound. yeah, 147. I am so happy. My exercise and eating are 100% now. Hope to see goal very soon. I had to lay off the fruit for a while. Swam an hour today. Good luck to everyone else.

lilybelle 06-20-2006 09:07 PM

Paula, sorry to hear of your sorrow. Glad you found your way back here. I have just been here since march , but everyone is great. Good luck to you and best wishes.

RobinW 06-21-2006 11:05 AM

Good Morning

I got off my butt early and made it to the gym!!! Yahhhhh!! Im done my workout for the day. It feels so good to!

Today we are going to be getting the truck done (doing it ourselves) with our logo and whatnot....so Im off to shower, so I can get all hot and sweaty in the heat

Oh.....Im still 100% op, and Im feeling pretty darn good too! :D

lady_adnerb 06-21-2006 11:33 AM

Wednesday

Maggie: Diet Rite has splenda in it. WTG on the exercise!!

Paula: Sorry for the rough time! Feel free to pm me (or if you want to email, let me know) any time you need an ear or need to vent. I've not gone through what you have--but I'm a good listener! And yes, I still have the antler ring. But DH replaced it with diamonds.

Lily: WTG on the lost pound! You're doing awesome!

Robin: WTG on being OP!! Keep up the great work and you'll be back in the swing of things in no time!!

Well, except for a few too many berries yesterday, I was OP. I'm not even hungry today but I'm going to have to go eat in a little while just to get something in my belly. Need to start venturing out into new foods to keep things interesting. I'm hungry for stir fry but have never done it. Would like some type of garlic taste to them. Water has been good, soda is almost non-existant so I'm doing ok there as well. I'm starting to lose the "bloated" feeling again. So I'm going in the right direction. Just need to keep it going through the weekend.
On another plus note...another room (bathroom) is now clean. Just a few more to go and the house will be clean (at least cleaner  ) .

ilovemike4alwayz 06-21-2006 12:16 PM

I lost 2 lbs.!!!!!

lilybelle 06-21-2006 12:59 PM

WTG, IloveMike, on the 2 lb. loss. You are doing great. Brenda, great job on getting back on program.

Idealperson 06-21-2006 03:02 PM

My scale has finally moved...I was stuck for about 2 weeks, but I am down another 3 #!!!!!! Finally!!!!

I am eating a few carbs daily...but am staying below 20gr.

Strawberries are growing in my garden and I can't let them go to waist/waste!

needtolose4me2 06-21-2006 06:00 PM

sounds like everyone is having a pretty good week!
I don't weigh til sundays now. It helps keep me going over the weekend. I used to weigh on thursdays but if Ihad a good week I gound it to tempting to cheat.
Thanks for the Diet Rite tip brenda. How about some low carb ice pops? It'sbeen so hot and I have nothing cold to quench my thirst.

Paula - I don't think we've met but welcome back. It good to see youpicking up, brushing yourself off and getting back on track. That's the best revenge!

Hi To everyone else!!

lilybelle 06-21-2006 07:09 PM

Idealperson, wow, 3 lbs. is fantastic. WTG.

ilovemike4alwayz 06-21-2006 09:57 PM

Way to go ladies. We just need to keep up the good work.

lady_adnerb 06-22-2006 07:23 AM

Thursday

Sandra: WTG on the weight loss! You're doing GREAT! Awesome way to jump right back into things!

Lily:  How's it going for you?

IP: Poundage lost! WTG! And I'm actually hoping strawberry season will end soon so I quit eating them. Then pear season will start

Well, yesterday was a good day. I'm sure had more carbs than I should have, but I'm still calling it a success. Made my version of a stir fry  Was delicious but that's where all the carbs came from I'm sure. Oh well, could have eaten something filled with sugar, eh?! DH was talking about where we were going to eat this weekend. Told him he could eat what he wanted but I NEEDED to stay OP. He asked why. I told him (again) that I needed to watch what I ate so I fit into my clothes-otherwise I'd have to buy new ones. He never said a word. Good news: I'm getting my water in. Bad news: Only exercise I'm getting is cleaning. Another room bites the dust....I mean is clean :lol3:

ilovemike4alwayz 06-22-2006 08:47 AM

I am down another 2 lbs. guys! It makes me just want to work harder when i am at the gym. 69 pounds to go.

RobinW 06-22-2006 08:57 AM

Good Morning :coffee:

Everyone is doing great, and the lbs are dissappearing!! :cb:

Im still going strong, last night was a bit tough. I was finished supper, and wanted a whole lot more food....kinda like a ghost hunger. Because I know that I was full!!! I made it thru ok.

I was also thinking about taking today off from the gym. Ive been 3x this week, and I'll go tomorrow. Ive been pushing it pretty hard, and Im thinking a day off might not be a bad idea, until Im back into the full swing of things. Everything feels very tired today...kwim? Just sore I could deal with, but the tiredness is sending warning signs. Maybe I can talk dh for going for a short walk thru the neighbourhood instead.

Alright, well the first 3days of induction are under my belt....I should be ok now :crossed:

Have a great day ladies!

ilovemike4alwayz 06-22-2006 09:27 AM

Hey Robin,
If you are really that tired, then take the day off. YOu have already made it 3 times and you are going tomorrow, so you should be fine. You shouldnt wear yourself out, it will discourage you if you are super tired all the time.

lilybelle 06-22-2006 12:12 PM

Looks like everyone is doing great. I used the treadmill again last night and am going swimming today. I think that alternating my exercise a little is helping. My kids are going to be gone this weekend and that will be kind of nice for DH and I to have the house to ourselves. He is working over-time, so I should be able to get some extra cleaning done. I think Brenda needs to come to my house, she's on a roll with that cleaning.

Rayyne 06-23-2006 06:12 AM

Hiya ladies!

It certainly sounds like all of you are on plan and losing weight! Wow! I have been on plan, but I haven't lost any weight in the past week so I'm still just 7 lbs from where I started.... and I'm ok with that. I'm not ultra discouraged, just a little disappointed. I've managed to stick with my exercise routine so I'm feeling pretty darned good about myself anyway. Of course, I'm not doing allll that much at the moment, but I keep adding something more in each week or another 5 minutes of exercise and it seems to be really working in terms of I can feel my body getting used to the exercise. So, I may not be losing weight, but darnit I am getting into shape! I'm eating healthy and exercising, I figure the weight has GOT to come off eventually, right?

Take care everyone! You are all doing sooooo well!

lady_adnerb 06-23-2006 08:11 AM

Friday

Sandra: MORE weight loss?!?! AWESOME!

Robin: Definitely hope you had taken the day off! If you're feeling tired it's the best time to take a break. Give muscles and everything time to "repair" before pushing them some more :)

Lily: Have fun w/DH this weekend. And sorry, cleaning my own house is a big enough job w/out going to someone elses. Even though it's more fun to clean someone elses than my own

Rayne: I love your attitude! Makes for a healthy mind...and the healthy body will follow :) Keep it up-it'll happen!

I took a day off from cleaning yesterday. Still did the dishes (amazing, I can see the bottom of the sinks. EWW! ) though. But it was nice. Youngest DD and I watched movies and crocheted all day. I'd like more days like that. But it's not going to get my kitchen done! That's the last major room to do. I'm thinking of taking THAT in sections. Today I'll do a counter or two. And a little of the floor. Then wait until Monday (or tomorrow) to do some more. I've NO clue where to put the stuff. Which is why it's just sitting there. But it's got to get done!! Then the house will be presentable. Not clean by others standards I'm sure, but clean enough for me :) Then the task of KEEPING it clean. Anyway, been OP and even getting my water in. Scale has gone down a little. So hopefully I'm back on a roll...downward!!

RobinW 06-23-2006 01:29 PM

Afternoon :D

Yup, I took the day off exercise yesterday. Im still tired, but not like yesterday....I think alot of it has to do with my body getting back into the l/c woe!! So dh and I took a walk thru the mall. I havent a clue why he wont walk outside when its nice! :dunno: In the winter he says its always too cold....so who knows!? I'll head over to the gym in a little while and do a bit on the treadmill.

Yesterday something I ate certainly didnt agree with me. Im thinking it was the salmon (canned) every now and then I get a can of salmon or tuna, that turns my stomach. Then Im green all day, and spending most of it in the bathroom :( You can just never tell!

Eating is still op, and Im doing good. The cravings are gone, but I still have the after supper munchies. Ive been keeping busy after supper, and trying to stay away from the tv until at least 9.

Thats about it in my corner of the world....have a good one ladies!

lilybelle 06-23-2006 03:03 PM

I'm still staying on-program. Breakfast was a sausage and cheese omelet. I won't eat again til dinner and it will be baked chicken and some brussel sprouts. I need to go shopping for some new sandals today and grocery shopping. I have been cleaning house thanks to incentive from Brenda. Kitchen, Living room and 1 bathroom are done now.Lots more to clean. I plan on getting on treadmill this evening. I'm taking a break right now. Good luck to everyone .

RobinW 06-23-2006 03:08 PM

just got back from the gym, and I seem to have left 6lbs there :cb: Great incentive to keep me going!

Leenie 06-23-2006 03:22 PM

Booo !

ilovemike4alwayz 06-23-2006 09:49 PM

Ok so I didnt lose anything today, but i didnt gain, I maintained. I think I know why too and no i didnt cheat, but I did have a diet soda and I think that may have something to do with it, so I am staying away from those. You guys would have been so proud of me today! They were serving nachos at work today and I wanted them reall really really really really bad, but I told myself no and ate the lunch that i brought and made it through the day. I am so proud of me.

Ms Spotdog 06-23-2006 09:59 PM

Hi, Leens! How are you doing these days?

Can you say HOT? It hit 112f today on the way home from work. We are supposed to be in for a bad heat wave over the next few days. I need to wash the dogs - poor things are itching bad lately (don't think its fleas just hot spots) - but I'll do that early and then just stay in and do cleaning (like everyone else! lol). The boys are gone camping with SH so its going to be a quiet weekend. Unless they come home early and then we will probably go see Click.

I've been adding many salads to my eating lately, which helps me to eat cleaner overall. I still need to tame the carb monster more effectively - but I'm taking baby steps in that direction. The fluffy tummy I've developed is helping those steps along - lol.

My stress level is doing a bit better (but I DON'T like the boys gone - soooo lonely). I've come to terms with having to sell the house. I'm not happy about SH forcing this on us but we will get thru it. Change can be a good thing.

Have a great weekend all - DO SOMETHING FUN!

Kel

RobinW 06-23-2006 11:26 PM

Kel....my ex sister-in-law was forced to sell her house too, but (I dont remember the details) she had alot of control on how things went. She listed it, and priced it high....really high, she didnt sell that house for about 6 yrs  Here's hoping you can maybe do the same thing!
