I avoid it like the plague for that very reason. Anything i'm not supposed to have stalls me, and a little bit of sugar seems to do it. I ALWAYS read the ingredients. There are bacons out there that aren't cured with sugar. I can't remember the name, Virginia something bacon at Walmart Super Center is gooood. It's thick sliced, and no sugar. Also, Safeway has a bacon (their brand) that says on it 40% less Sodium on it. Read it, and you'll see that it's not cured with sugar either.
You can also go to the Deli of your grocer, and ask them to look up which ones of their lunchmeats doesn't contain sugar. They'll happily do it.
