No, and there's no reason you should. You can eat fruit - berries, apples, etc. You can eat bread to, although it may not the type you're used to. There are low carb breads at the market, along with flat breads and tortillas. If you're adventurous, you can even make your own with flax\soy\almond flours. If you stick with Atkins over the long haul, you'll be amazed at how much your taste in food changes, and that you won't WANT to eat some of the things that are a regular part of your diet now. but come on...I'm 27 years old-will I go another 50 or so years without bread or fruit?

It is unreasonable to expect everyone here to stick to any particular diet forever, since once you are at a healthy wieght it is possible to maintain it through sensible eating and exercise and not exclusively low-carb living.
If sugar & other carbs are what got you to this place, then reintroducing them to your diet at goal will eventually bring you right back to where you are today. There is a very sensible maintainance phase of Atkins, and it's not the least bit unreasonable to expect to be able to stick with it for life. Atkins isn't a short term weight loss diet plan, it a healthy way of eating for life.It is unreasonable to expect everyone here to stick to any particular diet forever, since once you are at a healthy wieght it is possible to maintain it through sensible eating and exercise and not exclusively low-carb living.
