Good Morning

Lacey~ I just want to see it for Ole Willy  I suspect I'll fast forward thru most of the movie

Workout planned and some make-ahead meals need to get done. Other than that, it should be an nice uneventful day :D

Have a good one ladies

Well yesterday I finally got back on plan. Sunday and Monday I was mostly on plan, but yesterday I was fully back. Of course, the scale is reflecting the earlier days and I'm trying to ignore it and not feel too discouraged. Cheating days really do mess with your head because of the additional water you retain due to carbing up. Scale was up way more pounds than even I would have expected just from a little extra carbs/lots of extra water.

But with patience and persistance I suspect it will all go back away soon.

I don't know what I'm going to make for dinner tonight. Fridge is pretty empty. Guess I need to plan/shop etc. I really need some new ideas for good low carb meals. I am getting bored with the same old things. I made a nice omelet for dinner last night. 5 eggs, cheese, mushrooms, ham, bacon, tomatoes and avocado in it. With sausage on the side... Lots of fat in that meal.

It was good and filling and satisfying though. (shared with 4 people, not for one person alone! had to make that clear).

Anyway I am recommitting to my goals. I feel a little farther off than I want to be because the scale has gone up. Maybe I should just set a couple of intermediary goals... My next one was supposed to be 245... but that was pretty far from today's first weigh in.

How much water do you guys drink? Do you consume huge amounts? Does it help with weight loss or do you find that you just have more water to weigh all the time?

RobinW 02-22-2006 02:10 PM

Sherry, I drink 64oz a day....then I have tea's & coffee ontop of that. Its plenty for me. I have a huge jug I bought at walmart, fill it up in the morning, and my goal is for it to be gone by supper time. That way I not up multiple times at night. I find drinking the water makes a huge difference.

hockeyfan7 02-22-2006 03:50 PM

Sherry, I try to drink 80 oz a day. I hate water though, so it's a struggle. I tried doing 128 oz for a week and gained 8 lbs automatically. It took me another 2 weeks for it to go away.

Dinner ideas?

I toss shrimp in olive oil and garlic and grill. I also grill zucchini or asparagus with it. Coat them with olive oil and Italian seasoning. Or you can also steam your shrimp and dip them in butter and garlic salt.

We buy Jim Beam BBQ sauce. It only has 5 grams of carbs per serving and is low in sugar. It's great for marinating steak or chicken to grill. I love a nice medium rare grilled steak.

Lettuce leaves with mayo, 4 strips of bacon and sliced tomato - make your own BLT.

Coat a chicken breast in a tablespoon of Italian salad dressing (1.5 grams of carbs) and let that marinate all day. Bake or grill with sliced red/green pepper and tomato pieces.

Also you might check out the recipes at the Atkins web site. I've made several of them and they are pretty good -- especially the stuffed mushrooms.

Hi all busy day again. Hey Brenda!! Calling the Lady Brenda I know what lurking can do to you, I have done it too many times. pop in frequently and have a good laugh and cry with us just do not lurk!!!

Ms Spotdog 02-22-2006 09:50 PM

Yeah, hey Brenda! Please come out and post! We don't care if you are struggling. We are all here to uplift and support each other - kinda like a huge LC bra, right? Support is what 3fatchicks is all about and we won't turn anyone away or tell them they should go somewhere else or do something else. Carb addiction is what we ALL have in common here or we wouldn't have chosen this WOE. But addiction is a you-know-what to overcome and just like the 12 step programs say: One Day at a Time.

Ok - I gotta run to the store since baseball practice ran late. Wish me luck in making good food choices, k?

Kel

Kel I can see us all in a huge bra squeezed in there like the fruit of the loom guys.

Two days of being back on track. I guess ketosis is back. Feels like I'm losing most of the retained water anyway. One thing I've noticed lately that worries me a bit is that I keep getting big old bruises on my legs. I don't remember bumping myself, but I'll look at my legs and there is always a fresh bruise on them.

It is a little worriesome. I guess I need to start taking my vitamins or eat more veggys or something.

The other thing I've noticed is that I can't seem to sleep through the night any more. I wake up to go to the bathroom and then can't get back to sleep. I suppose it is because I'm not eating enough, or something. But I don't like it much.

Morgaine 02-23-2006 08:53 AM

I'm happy today!! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

I finally achived a mini-goal (loss of 15 pounds) and got to change my avatar!

I've had a couple of whooshes this week - just finishing up TOM and was down 2 pounds yesterday and another 1.5 pounds today - so I glided right through that wall I'd been up against for awhile.

:) :) :)

bnbsmommy1 02-23-2006 09:39 AM

super job, Morgaine, way to go!! Don't you just LOOOOVE the wooshes!!!

Sherry - glad you're jumping back on the wagon, this little 'ol thing is so easy to slip off of when the road gets bumpy

My stall was broken by the evil egg diet, woohoo!!! :carrot: I feel like my husband is trying to sabotage me, he keeps saying he HAS to leave early for work and there's no way I can walk....so I think I'm gonna have my dad bring my treadmill in the house (it's in the shop) and walk when I watch American Idol :)

Hope everyone has a good day, I've gotta take my 3 year old into the Dr.today, she just hasn't been feeling well :(

Lacey

Good Morning!

Morgaine~ YAH!!!!!!!!!!!! you are doing so good too!!! :cb: :cb:

You 2 are a great inspiration

I have to admit, the exercise I have been doing is helping get the weight off faster than ever before! I had always walked and did weights at home, but I have better control over the intensity at the gym. Im thrilled with my results so far. I know I can get very close to goal by the summer....I just know it. I can hardly believe that by the summer, I may actually be where you are now Lacey!! But I know I can do it!!

Falon 02-23-2006 10:40 AM

Mornin' :coffee:
Slept horrible last night, and not to sure why... I had a cat that kept wanting in my room, and woke me up in the first place, then I have a hard time shutting my brain off! Chat, chat, chat!

Anyhow, I have a NEW goal to reach! So I need the extra bit of support!
We were already planning on going to my husbands family reunion in Chicago which occurs every 3 years. So I told him I want to surprise his siblings and mother with not being big (like all of them) any more. He snickered and thought that was a good one! But there is a new goal being added to this!

All this takes place at the end of July.

We are going to add a trip to the East Coast (the place I wish I could get him to move too!) and take the kids to Philadelphia, Boston, D.C., etc. The Smithsonian is my personal reward for the weight loss. So, I want to be in extra shape to be able to hit all of the historical sites! We have never been to the east coast, so this is a big thing for me..

What we are doing is fly to Chicago (the day before the reunion -leave the day after) take the train to Phily, then to D.C. and after a week, fly back home. My husband is a big guy, who hates to fly, so getting smaller is a big thing!!!

I have 5 months to do this! Any tips, hints, etc?
I plan on commiting to going to the gym, and really getting strict with myself.

HELP!! Ok, been babbling, but I am very excited since we have always talked about this trip, and now we'll be doing it!!!

The gym is on the list, and water the rest of the day. Yeah I discovered Coke zero as well, and have had a few to many of 'em. They are good though!!! :) Ok, giddy school girl has things to do..

BRENDA---- Come back!! I need you!!!!

Falon 02-23-2006 10:51 AM

Sherry - congrats on getting back on track! Ya sound very determined, and that omlet sounded really yummy!!! ;)

marie. 02-23-2006 01:41 PM

Wow- lots of people who are regulars since I left so I guess I better introduce...Im Marie, Im pretty chubby and I need support-I have gorgeous hubby who married me thin and loves me fat but---I want him to have someone who can keep up with him- anyone relate? Looks like ya'll have a great support system going...kin I come in?

hockeyfan7 02-23-2006 02:51 PM

Welcome Marie - more opinions and ideas and suggestions are always welcome! The bigger the support group, the bigger the support.

Falon - you have all the right tools -- you said you were going to exercise, drink the water and the biggest thing - eating on the plan. If you are committed and faithful every day, the weight should come off. My husband's family lives in Potomac, MD so we went this past 4th of July. I always wanted to go to A Capitol Fourth. We sat on the lawn and watched the Beach Boys and the fireworks. The guys got the brilliant idea to walk from Georgetown all the way to the Lincoln Memorial and then all the way down the Mall to the Washington Memorial - in the rain. This was before my 2nd knee surgery and by the time we got back to the subway, I was in soooo much pain. You will be better prepared for all the walking if you do get smaller first. I have to admit, I had problems keeping up with the 2 guys and I got tired. The new WWII memorial is fantastic. And the Korean War memorial is spooky in the rain at dusk.

Kel - did you make the right food choices?

Lacey - bring that treadmill in. You will be surprised at how fast the time goes if you are watching TV. Plus panting over that one cute guy (Ace?) will burn more calories. :D
