Default I need some help/advice...

Hi everyone.. sorry I haven't been around much this past week.. the kids had the throw up bug last week and this week a cold so I have a clingy 4 year old again.. but anyway just a part of being a mom right.. Okay but here is what I need help/advice on.. I have been lossing at a slow but constant rate.. which is good BUT I had the keto sticks the first 2 weeks and I was always dark/medium color and last week I ran outta them.. I have been eating the same type of things.. so today I buy some and low and behold I am barely even showing up.. why would this be?? I am eating around 20 carbs a day.. usually a bit under.. like today for instance I had an egg this morning then for lunch I had a pita pocket (5carbs) with tuna (0carbs) and Cheese (1 carb) so that is only 6 carbs (7 if you could one for the egg) I havent' had dinner yet but will probably just have something quick like a cup of chic broth and a chicken salad.. so does anyone have any idea what the deal would be.. why would I be barely shooting out ketones?? HELP me.. I am doing awesome with my exercise.. doing my treadmill and Susan Powder tape (anyone ever does these).. I guess I just don't get the whole ketones and what I am doing wrong.. thanks for any help/advice you might have

you could very well be burning off your ketones with your exercise. Dont worry about it. As long as you are keeping your carbs under control, and you are exercising, you should be loosing just fine. The other possibility would be you are eating alot of protein. This will also lower your ketones, but again, its not something to worry about.

Hope this helps, and eases your mind a bit

I feel MUCH better.. off to have some pepperoni.. and watch Fear Factor Mother/Son.. Havea great night

Ketone stips can go bad too. I've had bad batches of them. Also if you are drinking lots of water they don't register as dark. If you are eating more fat, they tend to register darker. As long as you are eating right and they are measuring, you are doing good.

Thank you these are brand new stripes I just opened them yesterday.. I am drinking tons of water and I am exercising my butt off about 1-1hour 45mins a day.. never less than 45 a day.. so I am sure those two things are making this happen.. thanks

Just focus on the fact that you ARE losing weight and not so much on the sticks. You're doing a great job so keep it up

You might also want to take a look at the expiration date on the bottle of strips - it could be that you did get an older batch.

I've bought brand new bottles and had them not work too.

The pita bread might be throwing off your ketosis too....

Are the pounds and the inches coming off? If they are, then I say put the sticks in the cabinet and don't worry about it. It's pounds and inches, not the color on a piece of plastic that counts.
