Default Joining the low carb ranks

Hello Ladies,

I'm a newbie, I found your site last week. I was thinking of trying South beach, then Sonoma..and in all my 'planning' and excuses why I couldn't return to Atkins/low Carbing I realize that it is exactly what I need to be doing-because CARBS are my problem and my addiction, and another week has gone by! I lost 30 pounds on Atkins a few years ago. I have many family members who are Atkins converts and well I am going to stick with it! So... Hello everyone! I look forward to joining you ladies on this low carb forum.

Good to meet you. I'm back too, just recently. I lost 50 and gained some of it back so now I'm having to relose it. But it works and you are so right. For most of us carbs ARE our problem. So why not go directly to the source of the problem?

I completetly agree about going to the source of the problem! I have made lots of excuses why I couldn't stick with low carbing and the only real reason is I love and eat WAY to many . Since January 1st I have been getting 'ready' to go on a diet, whatever that means....researching the www, printing off useless info etc...this past week I couldn't decide between South beach or sonoma. Well This evening I realized ENOUGH-just do it! So back into the saddle I go, glad your along for the ride too Sherry. < Is this guy low carb.lol. Maybe he should be a celery.

The Sonoma diet is new. I saw the book in the store the other day and I live in Sonoma County! It is based on the "Mediterranean Diet". Eating the foods of Sonoma county, which are similar to food in the Mediterranean. Olive oil, wine, avocados, berries etc. Of course we have lots of bad foods here too, but they're talking about things that naturally grow here I think. It's essentially portion control of heart healthy food.

I've basically been doing the same as you regarding my diet since January 1st. I've been flipflopping all over the place and finally decided today to just get back to Atkins. It served me well in the past and I lost 45 pounds back then but I succumbed to the lure of the carbs and gained it back along with
75 extra pounds.
I'm so addicted to carbs and not the good ones either.

With that said...welcome back!
