Default I cheated...how shameful!

I'm at the end of DAY 2 of my Induction Phase and I was really good - sticking to eggs, beef, fish, water, cheese, some mushrooms and water. I am drinking some diet coke but that's my only indulgence....until this evening!

After dinner, I was still ITCHING for something...then my eye spotted a blueberry muffin. Before I knew it, I had a small piece in my mouth. After savouring the taste, i spat it out. And then... I kept going...chewing, spitting, chewing, spitting. I know that's bad of me.

I'm gonna keep trying to keep carbs out of me...

Yup, don't get into the habit of chewing--and spitting. But it could have been MUCH worse! Just get back on track right away

Digestion begins in the mouth. So some of those carbs absorbed right there. Don't think that chewing and spitting meant that you were ok.

On the other hand it always takes me about 3 days or so to get REALLY back on Atkins. The first few days I tend to mess up a little. As long as you know what the goal is, and as long as you recommit to reaching it every time, you should be ok.

Dont beat yourself up over it. Life is about enjoying things in moderation. I know you messed up the whole "induction" thing, but you arent going to live your life on induction either. Point being, there will be times when you indulge, enjoy that moment and then move on and know that there will be other times too. Thinking is it, it will only be it and never again is what leads to those hateful binges! Enjoy what you had, get back on track and don't feel guilty about it.

Thanks everyone!

Yeah - it's quite a disgusting habit. I feel better today, and more in control. (I think last night's weakness was due to lack of sleep the night before.)

Good news is that I'm feeling quite comfortable so far. No muscle twitches.

My favourite food on the Atkins so far is Smoked Salmon and Roast Beef (without gravy) - I could eat them ALL DAY. I am also happily exploring the fantastic world of cheeses now.

Aside from that one muffin fiasco, I've not had any cravings for carbs.

THANKS again for being so kind and supportive. You ladies are really helping me more than you know...

Etc, these women are what keep me coming back. Without them I'd not be where I'm at (trying yet again). I'd have given up. But they're such great motivators (and butt kickers)!!
WTG on getting back on track!!

Ok thayt makes me think of the movie medigascar (sp) where they drink and spit I can see us all of around a table chewing and spitting and chewing and spitting.

But seriously keep the flavor out of your mouth what many say is the diet coke like the bells for those dogs send out messages to the brain that it si time to eat and they hear the bell and salvate??? well that is the same that happens to the body with fake sugar (Or chewing and spitting). it sends the message to the body that there is sugar and sends out the insulin and well back to square one. sweetened drinks and such can stall a person just that way. It is one of the hazzards and pit falls that we hit. and need to learn how our body reacts some can take it and some may not. it could have been a huge craving for the muffin that was triggered by the drink.. thank about it if similar cravings happen again then you just may want to dump the drink or drink less.
