I didn't stay OP that's for sure. I had a BAD weekend but just got back from my hour walk at 9 am so I'm off to a good start today. :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: I have to admit those carrots are pretty darn cute. Leenie: I'm with you on the paying for it part. I knew I wasn't going to be "good" this weekend but YIKES!! I'm doing better from now on that's for sure! Kim: WTG on getting the walk in! I'm hoping someday to be a morning exerciser. Well, ANY type of exerciser would be good right now :lol: Keep up the great work!! Ok. So I'm up 5 pounds from the weekend....so I'm going to work on that. ARGH! At this rate I'm going to be up to where I started from. What's up with that, huh?? So time to get VERY serious (and not just say it cuz it sounds good!!) about this weight loss again and realize I can and will do this!!! So I'm not going to change the sig. yet. Maybe on Wednesday. Then I've got to work on start getting exercise in. I'm hoping tomorrow I can. I really don't think I'll have time today. I've got to catch up on Girl Scout stuff and emails and such. Good morning ladies! Well, the visit with my dad was good, but now that he's gone its time to jump back on the OP wagon! Brenda - I, too, am up 5 pounds. It sucks!!! But today is a new day and a new start. I am going to drink water like I'm lost in the Sahara. I am going to EXERCISE. Its boot-camp time!!! No more whining! I'm sick of the squishy belly hanging over my jeans! I'm sick of my ample rear end scaring me when I glimpse it in the mirror! I hate my double chin! And you know what? I have the power to do something about all of it!!! AND I'M GONNA DO IT!!!

Hey ladies..sorry to say I've been hiding. and cheating. mainly because there was *nothing* to eat in the house but carb ridden crap. So..there is my confession. And, We cheat a little on Sundays after church now. But, I think if I'm good the other 6 days, I'm entitled to that one good meal. My weakness: country fried steak and pepper gravy and mashed potatos..lol.
okay..I'm off to the scale..see the damage..brb.. k..back to the drawing board..lol..bad cheat!! I gained a few back. I won't go there. It's alright..though. I'm being good today. *promise* on a good note..we are on week 2 of homeschooling. I'm learning all over again, just as Zoey is learning new things. It's so cool..lol. I'm starting to get more organized with what she's learning. I'm so proud of myself. Hmm...that's it for now. I'll be back! |

Leenie~NOPE!! I did NOT stay OP! Man oh man I was so far from it it isn't even funny. The pants are really feeling it to. I was so proud of myself last week for having lost 3lbs, well I'm sure I gained that and then some back because the pants are soooooo tight...and they have the elastic waistband. Kim~GREAT attitude! You are right it's gonna be a good week and I also am not gonna take NO for an answer. I hope you had a wonderful walk! Brenda~It's induction time now!!!! Good luck w/it. I know you can do it girl. I'm have already written it out and have taped it to my computer screen. As I'm sitting here and typing I think about how true that is. I do make excuses...I was busy, it was a special occassion, etc. And yeah, life does happen and you have to adapt to the situation but for me it doesn't mean that I need to eat the whole 1 gallon bucket of peanut butter cookies that my mother in law just made for my family. Ummm...yes that did happen I'm sorry to say. I think that this is the worse I have done since I have become a member back in July of this year. I just didn't care and that is sad. There was lots going on and my attitude is oh well...it won't hurt and I know that it did. Let me tell you if I could get my foot up to my butt I'd be kicking myself!! I am not gonna change my avatar until Wednesday when I do my official weigh in. Hopefully it won't be to bad. We are going and getting an exercise bike tonight from a good friend of mine who doesn't want it any more so TONIGHT while watching Wife Swap, I'm gonna be riding. I need to get some water in me because I haven't had any in well.....days and I need it so bad. I'm thinking that will help me this week also. Sarah: Great quote!! And I can totally relate to what you wrote...squishy belly and frightful rear-end. The exercise I have a problem with. hehe But I DO have to go feed deer so I'll be tromping through the woods for a good 1/2 hour so THAT is my exercise-- and I've got 1/2 my water in---how about you??
Mindy: Congrats on the homeschooling going so well. I discovered I don't do well if I'm good for the 6 days and cheat on 1 day. To my body it's like I've cheated the WHOLE time. Good luck w/it!!! Well, as I said, 1/2 the water in and eating is good. Feeling sluggish and a little headachy but that's due to the lack of caffeine and carbs. I can't believe I was swigging PURE soda (not even DIET!) this weekend!!!! I think I had 1 glass of water and it was GROSS (tasted like chlorine!). But I'm doing good and hope/pray I can keep all this up and start the losing cycle again I'll readjust the sig. on Wednesday also and hope that it doesn't have to reflect how truly bad it has gotten. It would be nice to lose a couple of the 5 pounds I gained in the next couple days Well, it's time to go to the woods (20 minutes=1 mile so I'll get my exercise in for the day ) |
Just got home from work and am chowing on a cube steak :) I weighed this morning and almost did a flip when the scales read 214 :carrot: I definitely need to drink more water and I'd love to walk some more but my back just can't take it anymore. On a good note, I got a lot of compliments today, that always feels fantastic for people to notice. I just can't wait until I'm under the 2's. (Have I mentioned that?) teehee. Ok, so much to do and so little time. Good luck this week everyone!!

well I managed to stay away from the tea all weekend though it was absolute torture....but I lost 1 lb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That might nto seem like much but when you haven'tl ost in 2 weeks one lb is like ...heavenly. I must stay OP all week cuz I'm cheating a the halloween party! I MUST have apple cider!!!
btw update on my costume, the tulle didn't work out with this particular skirt, but I did get opaque white thigh highs and garters, the stockings have bows at the tops of them and i'm wearing pin up girl heels that lace around the ankle with a big floppy bow, they are so cute! and I got a new wig that is bright auburn to go with my 'red riding hood' look.. ;) can't wait.. |

Hello ladies! So, guess what...yep your never go off OP and never cheat kid did just that...I had a piece of cake. I haven't weighed myself this week (officially), but I did when I got home with all my jewelry and clothes on and it said what my ticker says, so I had to lose something!
I thought about surprising my husband when I go see him, but I broke down and told him how well I've done. I told him that I lost 16 pounds and he asked me if I was eating. What a loser. It's like he wanted me to lose weight, but now that I have he doesn't believe that I did. I just guess he will have to see for himself in TWO DAYS!@@@! |

Lottie: Congratulations on the 1 pound and I TOTALLY understand the "1 pound is A LOT" thrill! I can't wait until I can claim that again!! Morning all! I am dragging butt today BIG TIME!! I am so tired and I don't know why. I have had a really rough couple of days lately because of oldest's b-day last week and everything I did for her friends party and the family one and I think I am still trying to 'catch' up on my rest.
Brenda~Didn't get to do the bike thing last night. Didn't get it home until 5 minutes before hubby left for work. I WILL BE ON IT TONIGHT!! I'm thinking of watching the BL while biking...how motivational right??? My water stunk yesterday. 24ozs. that is it. I don't know why but water right now, just isn't doing it for me. Audrey~You go girl!! You are so close to that goal and you are gonna rock your hubby's world when he sees you!! That has to be so exciting!! Keep up the GREAT job and enjoy your visit w/him. You all seem to be hanging in there, a little at a time...one pund at a time... The weather is crap here. I was supose to take the car in for service but changedit to Friday. I have a cough and I seem to be really dragging. Took my son to the dentist this moorning for 7:15 that makes for an early morning! I need to curl up with the pup for a nap on the couch today :) and rest up for puppy class tonight. I have a project for the temple I have to get out the door so a :wave: to all and keep plugging away. |

Im here, not so op yesterday, but today is another day! Dil ended up in the hospital night before last. The ambulance woke us up (they live next door) So dh spent the night there with the grandkids. Forgot to mention today youngest DD has a field trip and I'm chaperone for it. We're going cave exploring. So there's more exercise there. Why couldn't they do that when it was WARM out though???? So needless to say I won't be getting all my water in because I don't think they have bathrooms in caves. lol Otherwise I'm doing good eating and drinking wise. Haven't stepped on the scale yet....that's where I'm heading next. I'll post (and fix) tomorrow. |

Well, I lost 4 of the 5 pounds. So I'll just up my ticker to that and call it square. lol. Going to the caves was fun....until we got to one of the caves and we had to go DOWN a ladder. I didn't go--chickened out of that one. But I went through all the other crawling caves so was proud of myself for that one. Now I've got to go wash the cave dust out of my hair. :wave: |

If they get up to the main floor, dh is going to be sooooooooooooo sorry!!!!! If I wasnt so allergic to cats, we'd be borrowing the neighbours for a few days!! Morning all! Sorry I was MIA yesterday. Oldest DD didn't have school so I scheduled family pictures :cheese: and family day out so didn't get to get on here. Got lots of walking in but had a chinese buffet for lunch. I was good though...I didn't 'pig' :ink: out. I didn't do good on my water intake either, maybe 30ozs if I was lucky. I'm having a hard time getting my water intake back up for some reason. I did ride my bike :ebike: Tuesday night for about 7mins=a little of a mile. Kept the heart rate up over 77. I rode :ebike: again this morning for the same amount of time and same distance. Today the plan: Shake for breakfast, lunch and a salad for supper w/tuna, cucumbers, eggs, cheese, mushrooms and ranch dressing. I will have mozzarella sticks for snack between breakfast and lunch and lunch and supper. I'm gonna really try to get my water in, but can't guarntee it.

I'm the same way and I always on dh's butt to get the decon up in the attic. Lacey~Good job on the walk!!! Every little bit walks even w/the little ones. You aren't weird about TOM. I was/am still that way and I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago. I still have one ovary (doc didn't want to put me into early menopause at age 28...actually he didn't want dh to have to deal w/me going through it this early LOL) and I will every couple months get the urge to eat and eat and eat and I'm not hungry it's just something that I have to do. This past weekend was one of those weekends. Sometimes you can't control those hormonal urges. Brenda~Good for you for going even into the caves...I'm not sure I would have even gone into them. Robin~How is your daughter-in-law doing? I'm still thinking and praying for you all. Sarah~KUDOS on staying OP w/your food. Drink, drink, drink!! <I shouldn't be talking though, I can't stand the taste of my water right now> Someone was asking me about the Slimfast Low Carb shakes and I don't know if it was here or on the daily food log for low carb, but YES they do taste good. Bec~ dil is suppose to be coming home this afternoon. She has been told to quit smoking, and if she doesnt, smoking will kill her "period" Dh and I will be plugging holes inside and out today. I didnt want to set any baited traps last night, because I dont want to attract them in, and I didnt want to fill any holes last night, incase we had a mouse or 3 stuck inside. The last time I had mice the stuff I was using to kill them, was actually attracting them! I had a flippin mouse party place! What had started out with about 4 mice (that I had see) turned out to at least 12 (caught) I moved out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told dh, he's going to have to go find me if they move out of the basement!!! I dont think he really understands how much I dislike them! I have an intense dislike for thunderstorms, .....mice are right up there! Enough about the mice :lol: Im back op today. Water jug is filled up, and meals are all planned out for the day. I'll check back later tonight....have a good one. |

Sarah: Good luck on the WI. I've gotten over having to weigh myself every day...but I think that's because I'm afraid of what the scale is saying. lol Lacey: They make some really good LC tortilla's. I had to switch from my other brand of LC wraps to these because our stores quit carrying it. But they're just as tasty. And I plan on making taco's (I know, not induction friendly but DANG they sound REALLY good and I'm behaving!! lol) one of these days. I take it you don't like sausages?? YUMMY!!! Bec: I'm having the same hard time getting all the water in. It's just so BLAH tasting. I'd much rather have a soda or even Crystal Light tea. But I'm doing better again today. Let us know how the pictures turned out! Maybe you could post one? And I think I asked about the shakes at one time. I'll have to get some to find out if they taste good. They're kind of expensive though, aren't they?? Well, I think I might have come close to getting my water intake in. I just kind of chugged it down when I got home yesterday. Today is another story and I'm able to get it down (but still wishing it was CL tea!!). I also went tromping through the woods today. I'm hoping for at least another pound lost next week. And I'm going to have to do something because that dang Halloween candy is calling my name!! I bought some LC candy but don't want to dig into it if I don't have to. I'm waiting til I'm VERY desperate. And I had THREE LC bars yesterday but only cuz I was rushed for time. One was for breakfast, one a snack (hiding in the bathroom there eating it so nobody knew I was eating) and one at lunch. So hopefully it doesn't do too much damage to the weight loss agenda. Other than that, things are same as always! Off to go drink more water and finish lunch! |
WOOPSIE! I slipped up last night. My mother-in-law came to stay the night with us and hubby went to the store for groceries for dinner. I know he was trying to be nice, but he brought home a huge bottle of Chocolate Mudslide (that yummy alcohol drink) for his mom and I to share as a treat. And, yup, I drank it. And it was soooooooooo good. And I ate some dang mashed potatoes.
Anyway, today is off to a really good start. Eating is OP, I exercised for 20 minutes on the elliptical and didn't hate it, and the water intake is coming along nicely. I'm tired of having a fat @ss! Brenda - the cave thing sounds like FUN! And I know what you mean about bing afraid of what the scale is going to say! I've gone from being a daily weigher to just whenever I feel brave enough! ;) Bec - I know what you mean about the water. I HATE water, I really do. I actually drink Crystal Light - its the only way I can get in enough liquids, and the artificial sweetner doesn't seem to affect my weight-loss in any negative way like it does to some people. You might give it a try and see how it works for you. My favorite is the Raspberry Lemonade flavor. And also, I drink it at room temperature. For some reason I have a hard time getting anything cold down when I'm not thirsty, but at room temp I don't have a problem. Just a thought... And I agree with you on the Low Carb Slim Fast shakes - they are yummy and a great way to get that chocolate fix! Robin - What about using one of those devices that make a kind of high-pitched noise that drives the mice away, but people can't hear it? I know they sell them all over, but I don't know if they really work. It sounds better than having a poisoned mouse crawling in your wall to die and stink though... Whatever you do, good luck! I'm with you - mice are icky!!!! Oh, Brenda - the price here for a 4-pack of the SlimFast low carb shakes is $5.99. But I live in an expensive "resort" area with no access to Walmart unless I want to drive lown off the mountain... Try Walmart if you're near one. All holes (that we can see or find) are plugged. Im actually surprised we didnt have mice before...we have some big *** holes around the house!!! So that foam insulation gunk is oozing out of every crevice :lol: I'll have to take a knife later and shave off the excess. Traps are baited, and placed....dh is mixing up some concrete as I type to fill a corner spot. Which is where I think they are coming in. Still op so far....water isnt all in yet, but Im getting there. Im off to make some coffee, then set out the poison in the garage, and along the wall of the house. Busy busy busy :D |
Sarah: How are you dealing with Halloween? Think we (yup, including myself in this one) can make it through w/out eating anything? I'm definitely going to have to check out the shakes because they sound YUMMY and a good meal replacement. Have you ever tried them warm? Would they make a good hot cocoa?? I miss that most in this cold weather!!
Robin: Good luck getting rid of the mice. Should I mention my mom and dad would patch their holes and the mice would just chew right through them? I know, I'm not helping much. Just thought I'd pre-warn you in case that happened. She got one of those soundless thingies and not sure if it actually worked of she's just gotten lucky (my guess is the latter rather than the former. lol) . Water's almost all in. I drank almost 16 OZ in a single "drink" . For some reason I was SUPER thirsty. So that helps. lol. I also had a nice chicken breast and a huge ( I know for a fact my veggie intake is higher than it should be) salad. I'm not stuffed..just pleasantly filled. So that works for me!! I'm waiting for the "having to force myself to eat" phase to come. Then I'm hoping to cut down on the salads. Wanna hear something pretty sad?? I'm already planning my Thanksgiving and Christmas "cheats"!!!!!! Food should NOT be my focus again!!! ARGH! Bowling tomorrow night. YAHOO!! Ok...off to go watch whatever DH has on Tv (hunting I'm sure). |
Brenda - So far Halloween hasn't been a problem. When I bought candy to hand out to the trick-or-treaters, I made sure to buy a kind I don't like. This way I won't hear it calling my name and eat the whole bag before Halloween even gets here. (I've done that before.) If I had gotten anything chocolate, I would have been doomed. So this year its Sweet Tarts! Now, when my little Care Bear and Buzz Lightyear bring home their bags of Halloween spoils, that's when my trouble will start. They're still much too young to know whether or not mom has been sneaking candy from their bags. I'm not quite sure how to handle that yet. I have a HUGE weakness for chocolate candy. Any suggestions? As for the low-carb shakes, in the morning I mix a chocolate one with coffee and a little vanilla and heat it in the microwave. Its supposed to replace my white chocolate mocha from Starbucks... Not quite the same, but better than nothing. I don't know that a chocolate one heated up by itself would taste a whole lot like hot chocolate, but then again it could be better than nothing. Try it! I know what you mean about having to have something warm to drink in this cold weather!!! I also like them at room temperature, which works out great because I can keep them in the car and have one handy if I ever need one when I'm out and about. Give them a try! I'm curious to find out how you like them.

Morning All!!
Hope everyone had an OP day yesterday. I did and I am so proud of myself. I even went out to lunch w/a dear friend from church and ate low carb. I had a farmers omlette w/cheese, onions, green peppers and ham and instead of the bread and potatoes I had 3 sausage patties. I was happy!! Last night I rode the bike for 1 mile in 6 minutes at a heart rate of 110 or above. I was pretty happy about that. I did the arm thing on the bike for about 1/2 mile give or take a little. MAN are my arms killing me this morning. I was so sore this morning that there was no riding going on this am. I will ride again tonight. I will put my food down in the daily food log to share. Oh yeah...I got ALL my WATER in and then some!! 72ozs. I had to do the crystal light because of the water tasting nasty due to them flushing the hydrants...better I got it down!! Robin~Glad to hear that dil is home and doing better. I hope and pray that she heeds the doctors advice and quits smoking. Sounds like you had a good day and were busy. Glad that all the holes are filled and hopefully those pesky mice won't chew through the holes. KUDOS on staying OP!! You can do it again today!! You go girl! Brenda~KUDOS on the water intake!! You go girl. For me the shakes cost about $4.59 at the Wal-mart in the big city which is about 15mins. from me. They are a little expensive, but I think it is worth it for me so I stay OP. I bet they would do as far as hot chocolate. Didn't think of doing that with them. I can't drink them warm though, I can't even drink my water warm. It has to be cold or I can't get it down the hatch. Sarah~If your kids are young and won't notice the candy being gone what about throwing it away...the stuff you like that is. Or send it to work w/hubby or a friend or someone. For some reason I am doing really well controling my urge to go to the cupboard and take out the stuff that dh and I bought from a Russell Stovers outlet for Halloween. Really yummy candies!! I think the shakes help. I've never been a chocolate lover on a daily basis but at least once or twice a month I really want it and I have found that w/the shakes I don't really find myself craving it. That mudslide sounds good though!! Reminds me of my college days!!! Ahhh, memories. KUDOS on staying OP yesterday and getting in some exercise. That is AWESOME. Keep up the good work! Wasn't Survivor good last night?? Should be interesting now that they merged. I felt bad for Amy though. I don't think she deserved to go home. Do you watch the Apprentice? I missed it last night because I was on a business call and thoguht I could 'rewind' on my DVR...only if the show is still on. Stupid me, at least I learned something...If you want to watch it...pause it and it will record. LOL Have a good day chickies and stay OP!!! |
