Default Im worried

I am feeling fabulous and im certain I have lost weight It will be one week tomorrow that I have been on Atkins induction however after reading post about "clean inductions" I fear I have been going about it the wrong way I have Phase 1 acceptable bars and snacks for snacks on occasion does that mean I am not doing a clean induction even though Atkins approves the use during induction?? and can anyone tell me what vitamins are okay to take that will meet requirements but dont contain sugars? I am doing this for life aside from the weightloss I love how great I feel but I do want to lose the weight also does that mean I should completely avoid the advantage products? have any of you used the products and still successfully lost the weight? here is my typical daily menu.

9AM: breakfast three scrambled eggs with 1/3 cup of sprinkle cheese and two pieces of turkey added in and three peices of turkey bacon 20oz water

snack advantage bar 20oz water

two pieces of grilled chicken added two two cups of romaine lettuce two tablespoons of kraft carbwell 0 carb dressing four oz diet rite

snack polly o string cheese more water

Dinner cheeseburger (without the bun of course) 1 cup of brocoli and cauliflower with a little cheese melted 20oz water

snack advantage shake

does that sound like eating for success? or should I just replace the bars and shakes completely? and what if I just had a shake for a meal it says they can be used for meal replacement.

Well, induction online is different than the book. And there are (I believe) 2 phases of induction. The 1st is starting out and that's where you go straight by the book. To learn to replace the need for the fast food items. But you know, in this day and age sometimes you CAN'T. There are times when you just can't bring a lunch or something to snack with. So I figure if the bars aren't stalling you then go for it!! If you think you're not losing fast enough, try a week w/out it and see what happens. Does that mean you're not doing it correctly? Well, only YOU know what you can live with doing and I'd say if you feel like you're losing weight and you feel good--you're doing SOMETHING right. Keep up the great work

Ditto's to Brenda's post. I would suggest getting a paperback copy of the most recent updated version of the diet, it will really help you in the long run. They are cheap, I think I got mine used for $3.

If your not stalling then keep doing what your doing. Atkins is a learning process and you do learn alot about your body in the first few weeks. Like for instance, I had to lay off the cheese and really keep it below 3 oz a day or I would not lose and be able to go to the bathroom.

Don't forget powered artificial sweetners have carbs in them (1 carb per packet) so be careful to count it as well as your coffee carbs (if you drink it).

CONGRATS TO YOU !!!!

Vitamins are a personal choice. I know they say to watch out for vitamins with Iron in it b/c you should be getting iron if your eating red meats.... Some one please correct me if I'm wrong. Just don't fall for any fancy names (like low carb vitamins, etc...). Read read read and definitly take your vitamins, they are soooo important when your following this plan (well any plan really). Centrum Silver I think is one that doesn't have hight or any iron... check it out. Again this is where the book is a mega source of help.

Hugs !!

thanks guys I feel better! I just had a baby and am still anemic from that so my dr insists that I take my iron supplement so I have never taken any vitamins except prenatal I dont have a clue what will have what I need and not have anything I dont need...I will definitely pick up that book but 1 question...did they not think the original way was the right way to go about it is that why its so different now that they had to write a new book?

make sure your cheese is under 4 oz a day, too much cheese has been known to stall some people...also those bars are endorsed by the Atkin's website, but since Dr.A died a lot of it has become just a business venture, the bars have also been known to stall some people, I wouldn't use them in induction...the Atkin's people just want their $...I would stick to the book, the 02 version is the best. I am having a problem with my cheese...i love it so much...so instead of using string cheese as snacks, I stick with using it only for cooking, since I like cheese on just about everything.

the vitamins I have found to be the closest to the right %'s of what Dr. A says we need are the Centrum Silver ones...if you don't go with those make sure you get some that do not have iron, because we get enough of that in what we eat. Atkins brand also makes some vitamins that are ok too.

Be very careful and follow your doctors advice, especially being anemic, thats #1. I would ask him about what vitamins you should be taking.

Writing a new version is, IMHO, a good thing, it just means that they are learning more and better ways to update the diet. did you ever see the very FIRST version... OY, now thats hard to follow.
