Wink Thursday Chat, Nov 4th

Good Morning !!!

We are almost to the weekend

I am so hungry this morning, I am sitting here eating veggie egg rolls I got from the grocery store. Yup for breakfast. They are only 100 calories each so I'm having 2 and a cup of coffee. I feel sorry for the lady who sits in my office... Leenie & Cabbage in the morning

Whats new with everyone ? Got any plans for the weekend. I must make a pot of minestrone soup.

Leenie: I used to love egg rolls....but they didn't like me. Hope the lady in your office is understanding I've never had minestrone soup. What's in it?

Well, another day of being OP for me. YEAH!! Can't say I haven't been tempted. But ya know, the TRUE test will be this weekend. Easiest way to stay OP would be to stay home. Pretty sad. Seems going to my parents house is a trigger I can't break out of. No self control whatsoever. I'm sure we'll go bowling again w/the girls Friday night. I'd like to get a bowling ball. Did I tell you all that last week during league night I bowled GREAT!! Well, great for me I got into like 130's I was SO pumped!!! Hopefully I can KEEP doing that! Cat woke me up at 5:30 again. I really detest cat-butt in my face and at THAT hour it's TRULY disgusting!

Good morning Leenie

Ok, I am at a turning point I think..........I joined the WebMD Weight Loss Clinic (free for employees). They gave me a weekly meal plan and I just can't do it! I can't eat all those carbs!!!!!!! Cereal for breakfast, bread for lunch What has happened to me? Can it be that I have actually changed my lifestyle?
So, I think I am going to take a look at doing induction for a couple of weeks and see if I can get what I gained off. Then the plan is to be a OP as I can through the holidays. Once the new year hits I may investigate the WebMD plan again.

Need to get focused people.......help!

Good Morning Leenie: at your breakfast. Poor woman who sits in your office Nothing planned for the weekend, just rest, rest rest...and maybe some cleaning thrown in between naps!

Been MIA for a few days. It's just so hard for me to get on in the mornings before work here lately. And in the evenings when I get home I am so tired I just want to relax. I am off today, so hopefully I can catch up on everyone! Heading out to the Dr. soon. They are supposed to schedule another ultrasound. I hope they can get me in soon! Nothing much happening here lately. Just trying to get the nursery set up and everything. I haven't even been able to pick out a theme for the nursery yet. I go and look at everything in the stores, and just can't seem to decide. I like everything I saw this one that I really loved. It was blue jean teddy bear. So so cute! But the only thing it is dark colors, and wouldn't look very good for a girl. I am waiting until the next ultrasound to make any decisions, because they said they weren't sure it was a girl! Oh well, better get my butt off here and get ready for my appointment. I'll check back in later and get caught up on everyone! Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Good morning ladies!!!

Lisa: the nursery theme is fun but it doesn't really matter once the baby is here, they can't use the comforter and you usually end up buying extra bedding (whatever is cheapest) after they come cause they either poop or spit up on it!! hahahaha So don't worry too much about it, I just figured it out later that it is designed to keep the nesting mom busy!! ahahahaha My kids had the John Lennon Carters theme and I loved it! And it kept me busy seaching for all the accessories! hahahaha

B- you are doing great! You CAN be op this weekend, me and you together we are both gonna do it!

Hi Leenie......oooo cabbage! Toot Toot if i ate it!!

Jane: I know this time sucks, I just got over exactly what you are talking about, you just gotta find your space to do what is right for you. I decided to try easier than induction, I am doing 20 with lotsa veggies, and it feels alot better than the induction I tried last week.

Well going to the gym after work today, and then going home and resting!!! ahahahaah Nothing too exciting here, but i am doing good staying OP!! YIPPEEEE

Hey Ladies!

Leenie- Just look at her like she did it.

Brenda- so proud of you! you are on a roll now girl!

Jane- Gosh, be so careful...I got discouraged and went on weight watchers several weeks ago and within a couple weeks I was puffed up like a balloon!

Lisa- for my middle daughter, I decorated her room in a bloom county theme ( anyone know that comic strip?) She had these big portraits of Opus and Bill the cat around the room, Opus and Bill stuffed animals everywhere and her whole room was done in red, white and black...my Mom walked in and said "this is THEE scariest room I've ever seen"....oops....But Kelsey seemed to love it

TG- you'll appreciate this- for this years yearbook ( which I teach) we are calling it "a day in the life" ( after the beatles song) and for the cover we morphed 3 of our girls in our schools various team uniforms into the abbey road cover...they are walking between each Beatle...the back is done the same as abbey road but we just replaced the wording...it looks very cool

well, nothing ne around here....went out to dinner last night with a friend- had the fajitas and they gave me an extra plate of grilled veggies instead of the rice and beans...have to pay my property taxes today, which totally scares me with Christmas coming up....everybody have a great OP day!

Hi gang!

I am in heaven! Yesterday my Atkins Complete Cook book arrived! My mom gave it to me as a "get-well" gift! OMG the recipes look wonderful!

I only have a minute but had to share! I am so excited about it!

Hope all are well. I will be joining the ranks again in about a week or so. I have to see what the post op entails first!

Hey Everyone!

Brenda: Way to go staying OP. I know you can do it this weekend! Just take it one day at a time! Great job on bowling. I used to bowl on a league and if I got to the 130's everyone got excited!

Jane: Hang in there girl! I know it's hard sometimes but you can do it!

TG: I know what you mean about the theme not really mattering. I just want to get a few things that match for the new crib. (which we haven't bought that yet either, but I do have it picked out!) Plus everyone that is planning me a shower is wanting to know what theme! I told one the other day that we were just going to do a "baby theme" Anything baby was good I'm sure after he/she is born it won't really matter much because like you said they can't use the comforter and plus they will be messing everything up! Hope you have a nice night at the gym!

Marie: at the scary nursery theme. Doesn't really matter what mom thought since Kelsey loved it. We had decided at one point if the baby was a boy that the nursery would be decorated in North Carolina Tarheel stuff. That's me and DH's favorite team and we still may do it if its a boy. If not I think I am set on the blue jean teddy bear. It's just so cute. Have fun paying the property taxes. Hope that where you have to pay them is a lot more professional than where I go. The people are so stupid there for some reason. They always have something screwed up on our's. The lady knew me there when I went to pay mine last year. She told me that my mom was showing an outstanding bill from that year (2003) I was like...ummm that's very odd because my mom died in 1999 and everything was sold or changed to my name in March of 2000. So therefore how in the heck did she have property taxes for the year 2003???? She said...oh...we must have made a mistake. Took about 5 phone calls to get that corrected. I told my DH in order to work at our tax collectors office you evidently had to be dumb. Something like this happens every year.

Karen: Glad that you are feeling better. Hope that you are back to normal soon!

The dr's appointment went great. I have only gained 2 pounds since May! Also blood pressure was good. I go in next Thursday for another ultrasound. Going to keep my fingers crossed from now to then that they will be able to tell me the sex DEFINATELY! We thought they had last time, but the dr said the technicians notes said that she would SAY girl, but couldn't really be sure. By their first calculations I am 28 weeks....by the last ultrasound I am 30 weeks.....but today I was measuring 33 weeks! She said they may have the due date wrong, or that this is going to be one big baby! Heart beat was 139-146. That's my favorite part of the appointments getting to hear that heartbeat. It's the best sound ever! I have to go back on Monday for a rhogam shot because I have negative blood type and my DH has positive. The appointments have started every 2 weeks now and so it's definately getting closer to the end!!!! Well, enough babbling from me, just though I would fill all you gals in. Off to wal-mart to get some tires put on the truck and I am sure to look at more baby stuff!!! Have a great afternoon everyone!!!!

Jane: Do you HAVE to go back to strict induction? Is it possible to be more lenient so that it doesn't seem so much of a chore? I know where you're coming from though. I was feeling the same thing! You can do this

Lisa: You're lucky! We never managed to get our babies room ready before she was born. We were going to start working on it the day she was delivered. They said she was a month early but I think their tests were wrong. BOTH daughters were a month early. What's that tell ya? Have fun and enjoy this time

TG: Keep up the good work!! You're doing great staying OP

Marie: We don't get our property taxes yet. I'm afraid of it also. They like to send it the beginning of December to spoil our Christmas.

Karen: The recipe book sounds exciting. I'm always too chicken to try to make new things. I'm always too picky and I never like to make it in case I don't like it. lol. Let us know how it turns out. Glad things are going great for you and that you're feeling better

Well, so far OP and of course another day of Girl Scouts. Oldest went to school. Before she left I asked her how her mouth was. She got this smirk on her face and said "it still bothers me a little." The smirk got bigger when I said it didn't really bother her but she wanted the attention. Go figure Told her I'd have given her attention anyway So it's off to get ready for the meeting. If I get done with what I need doing I'm hoping to pop back in here.

Figured out last night that DH wants to stay home for Thanksgiving, fine with me, and DD wants to invite her grandmother. So I get to have total control over my food options without my brother and mother running down Atkins.

Having my Atkins chicken salad for lunch, love those olives. Fourth day totally on Atkins Induction. I feel fine, though I have never had really bad effects from induction. I really think Atkins is my WOE, so why do I stray. I had no candy yesterday, no interest at all and since I had my teeth cleaned this am, no nuts either.

BRENDA - Is your daughter feeling better? How is her mouth? Did the salt water work?

LAURA - So glad you found something that works for you and it seems to be going well. I have always been on the other side of this fence, but hey, stay healthy and happy is my motto.

My weekend is well planned, going to DD's soccer game, she has been asking and this is the second to last one. We may eat lunch out with my MIL who is also coming, not sure, if we do, I can do well at the restaurant, even if DD wants BK. Then my neice turns 2, so that will be fun, I can easily skip the cake and her father makes ribs for all family events so I will be in fine shape.

Sunday, after church I am hoping to get some serious sewing done, unless my husband continues to work on the kitchen, he wants to fix a wall and he is a person who uses a whole lot of space for his projects.

LISA - Smiling over the baby room theme work, my poor daughter was lucky to get her room painted, then she slept in our room for 6 months in any case.

MARIE - I would want your daughter's room, sounds like fun.

I am working a little later today, I have a pile on my desk which isn't being attended to while I chat here.

Have some more water everyone.

Brenda: I probably won't do STRICT induction....not sure yet. Really the only difference between what I am doing now (or was doing ) and strict induction is the peanuts and low carb tortillas. Have fun bowling!

Liza: You know I never think to put olives in my salad....hhhhmmmm. I am on my way to the dentist myself today....hasn't stopped me from eating everything in sight!

Lisa: Glad all went well at the docs. Hope the next ultrasound gives you a definitive answer....that will make it easier to decide on the baby's room.

Karen: Glad to hear from you...sounds like you are getting better everyday. Have fun with the new book....share some good recipes!

Marie: I know! That is what freaked me out when I saw the meal plan....carbs everywhere! I just don't think I can go back to that. Sorry about the property taxes

Theo'sgirl:

Well, I have to finish eating and go floss and brush before I hit the dentist. I have to remember to bring some Advil with me so that I can take it before I leave.....oh they always ache after she is done!

Default What???

Lisa - Have you really only gained 2 lbs???? You are a lucky girl!!! I have gained 20lbs with this pregnancy and we are in the same week! Going for my Rhogam shot next week as well. Don't forget if they do an amnio near the end for any reason you will need another Rhogam shot. With my 1st preg. the hospital forgot and I remembered on my own after I got all the way home!

Hi everyone else - I can't wait to get back OP better than I am doing. I am pathetic - as you can tell by the 20lb gain! But the baby is doing very well and this time it's a BOY to add to our 2 daughter's lives. He's a real kicker too! All my weight is in my front belly - unlike when I had the girls which was all around my mid section. I'm kind of excited about giving birth in January though since I will have all Springtime to walk off the extra baby weight before returning to work in June.

I love reading everyone's posts - You are all doing so well!!!

Liza: Olives in salads. It's an interesting idea I best not even try. I tend to put TOO much stuff in my salads as it is I forgot to have her rinse her mouth out. It's doing better, thanks for asking

Jane: I remember one of my visits to the dentist. I hadn't been there regularly so it took TWO visits just to clean my teeth. OUCH! Talk about HURT! I'm much better now at keeping it regularly. Now I just have to start to floss more often.

Kim: Great to hear from you!!! 20 pounds is NOT a lot at ALL!! I gained MUCH more than that so you're doing great! Glad things are going so well for you

Well, another day OP. And once again it's 7:00 and I'm tired and ready for bed. When do I get to expect this rush of energy? Could it be because of the soda (1 bottle) I drink? Or could it be that the kittens wake me up earlier than I want to get up? *yawn* excuse me...time to take the dog out one last time, get the girls to bed and head there myself. Night all!!
