Don't worry, I dont think Premarin would be even talked about, as one of the side affects is high BP and that is one of my main issues with BCP.! :) didnt kow about the horses though!

You confirmed my thoughts on the all-at-once theory though.. My mom at 65 kept her ovaries and is having pain with them still...

Karen: Then I guess I would go with his decision if you are comfortable with it and you trust him. Just make sure you are both on the same page as far as the ovaries and HRT's go.

I don't envy you having to make this decision.

Just popping in to let you know that a newbie has posted about Atkins in the Acronyms portion of Frequently Asked Questions. Can anybody help her?

azmomma 08-03-2004 12:48 PM

Good Day everyone! You all were busy chatters this morning! :)
Thank you to those that responded to my "newbie" post, I really like this board.

I am off to a great start today, and already got my workout in and 48oz of water. I always feel so much better if I get the exercise out of the way first thing in the morning, feels like it sets up my whold day for me. Does anyone feel like that?

Today is a day of errands and back to school shopping. I cannot wait til these kids go back to school! :D I love them dearly, but my gosh they are getting on my every last nerve this last week!

Jane, nice to see some "perky"...makes everyone more perky, dontcha think?

Brenda, I love love love DQ too! Was it at least good?? LOL. Well today is a new day, a new beginning. All you can do is try your best!

Lisa, I hope you didnt get alot of that tropical storm! Saw it on the news last night! I heard it was good for the surfers there tho! ;)

Rachel, I hear ya on the scale not moving! I'm going on the end of my 2nd week---have alot more to lose than you but it's still just as frustrating.
What kind of scale do you have if you don't mind me asking? I would like to get one that does body fat % but don't have a clue what would be good.
TIA

Turtle, welcome back on the wagon! I wish you luck as you begin your journey again.

Theo'sgirl, hope you enjoy the gym today! I am too chicken to go to one so I just do it at home. LOL. Hope today is a good one for ya!

Star, wowzers! Your stats are impressive!!!

Karen, I am so sorry you are having such troubles with TOM. My sister has servere endo as well and has had 2 surgeries already. She is only 27 and wants kids badly. Not sure if that will ever happen.
I wish you luck and prayers as you make a decision as to what to do.
You know what will be best. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Well ladies, it is wonderful to meet all of you. Hope you don't mind me jumping in the crowd here.

Everyone have a wonderful day! Make it count!

Welcome Danielle! We don't mind at all. :D

Leenie 08-03-2004 01:37 PM

Hi Ladies :grouphug:

Gotta make it fast, I'm leaving in 1/2 hr to go to the Doctor. I'm still hacking away so I figure I'd better get checked out.

Hugs to you all who are having a difficult time and hugs to you all who are having good days.

Lekker 08-03-2004 02:04 PM

Hey there everyone!

Jane - glad you're feeling better!

Brenda - no use beating yourself up over it - just start over and think about all the good things that you have done!

MrsH - speaking of beaches, I haven't been to one yet this year, though my sister goes every day - she has to take water samples at all the beaches then deliver them to the lab for testing. Needless to say, she's developing quite the tan. :)

Rachelearth - based on your stats you seem to be pretty consistently losing - way to go!

Turtle - I'm trying to keep my fridge Atkins-friendly too. Except my yoghurt - it's staying. ;) You're from Houston! I was in Houston for a day over Christmas hols last year - went to NASA HQ - something I've always wanted to do.

TG - for a moment there, I thought you were talking about a *real* horse! :D

Star - maybe 7 hours was *too much* sleep for you and that made you tired! ;) 7 - 7.5 hours is about what I like normally.

Karen - good luck with making your decision - I have no experience nor words of wisdom, but I'm sure if you trust your doctor and agree with him, then you'll make the right decision for you.

azmomma - welcome! I haven't been around in awhile, but it's nice to see new faces. Sounds like you're off to a great start!

Whew - lots of responses!

I haven't been around in awhile. I was at my folk's home for a few days last week. We got in some golfing, which I am surprisingly not too bad at considering I only golf about twice a year. Some more Bocce ball, a little shopping (much to my chagrin and my sister's great delight!), a little time spent looking at brick options (for my parent's new house that they are building) and a drive-in movie evening. We saw Shrek 2 (funny) and Anchorman (probably the least funny movie in existance. Ever.). We were too tired to stick around for the showing of I, Robot though.

On Sunday I had a wedding to go to in Toronto - it was an Indian (Hindu) wedding and it was loads of fun. They know how to enjoy a wedding! The ceremony was almost two hours, but since it was all so new and novel for me, it hardly seemed that long. Plus the priest-guy (I'm not sure his proper name) was easy-going and had a good sense of humour. Later at the reception, there were some great Indian dances and some great Indian food (most decidely off-plan, but yum, Indian food is great, if a bit too hot for me!). The dancing at the end of the night was interesting because they were playing music that was apparently at the top of the charts in India - needless to say, I didn't much recognize the music, but, hey, I danced anyway. In fact, *everyone* was dancing right from the get go! And I love all the great colours of the women's saris.

And ugh, this morning I found a dent in my car! Grr...someone backed into my car when it was parked on the street I think. Someone left a number - I think it was someone who saw it happen (since they listed the car type beside their number), so unfortunately I probably won't be able to find out who did it. Ticks me off - I don't want to report such a little dent because insurance is no-fault, so it wouldn't be in my best interests for a little dent. Not what I wanted to see this morning!!

Back to work for me!

Lekker 08-03-2004 02:05 PM

Oh hey Leenie! I missed you there. Hope the doctor can help you out!

rachelearth 08-03-2004 02:46 PM

Star, you are welcome to laugh at my expense, LOL. The last time I got stuck on a weight is too fresh in my mind. It took me 27 days to pass 144 six weeks ago. I was hoping that I would stuck again around 134 not 139. You know, it bothers me a bit since I have increased both exercise and my water consumption and I was hoping for more rapid weight loss not slower.

Jane, I wish my set points were 10 pounds apart. That I can handle. But it seems mine are only 5 pounds apart. Well I suppose I get used to it soon enough, LOL.

Karen, I am real sorry about what you are going through. I hope that you come to a decision very soon. Once you made the decision it gets a lot easier.

Danielle, welcome to the board. You and I started almost about the same time. It is great to have you here.

Leenie, I hope everything goes well at the doctor’s office.

Lekker, I am glad you had fun at the wedding. Sorry that you woke up to a dent car. Thing like this unfortunately happens all the time when you live in the city. Some people are in such a hurry that they don’t pay attention to their driving. I am glad at least it is small dent.

StarPrincess 08-03-2004 02:51 PM

Ruth - I posted a response to her. How's TVM??? I'm still dying to see it!

Welcome Danielle!

Leenie - Hope all goes well at the dr's

Lekker - Welcome back! I missed you! Sorry about the car - that bites.

Rachel - Remember: Lower = Slower ;)

FYI - I posted a new progress pic at the top of the forum and updated my comparison pics in my profile :D

rachelearth 08-03-2004 03:06 PM

By the way, Danielle, I have a Tanita scale. Mine is a few years older than this one at amazon http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...s=hpc&n=507846

I do well up until after Supper. Then DH gets it in his head that we need DQ and being the ever obedient woman...I go along with it. It's time to start taking a stand and telling him (again) that with this WOE I need to at least stay away from that much temptation. Eating a hamburger on a bun once in a while is one thing....eating that AND DQ is another. So with that thought in my head I'm going to do my best to at least stay OP this week. And do my best to try and stay as much OP as possible this weekend. The only thing I'm figuring I'll end up screwing up on...is having brats with buns (and ketchup). And potatoes. But I'm hoping to make healthier decisions so that if I DO eat that I don't pig out on them. Of course then there's pudgy pies and smores. So I need to bring some veggies for snacking on. And I know I'm going to screw up...so not going to kick myself until next week...then pick myself up and waddle back OP!!!!
