Angry I'm melting!!!

OMGosh the weather is unbearable around here! We are already in the triple digits. It was 107 yesterday! Even when the wind blows, it's just like sticking a hair dryer in your face.

How am I supposed to excersize in this without stroking out? It is in the mid 80's by 5am. Even at night it's smothering. It's going to be this way until October too. I hate summer! Guess I will just have to leave the outdoor stuff alone for a while and bust out some tapes in the AC!

Ok, enough of my whining. Someone send their over. We won't get any until August.

Heat is the only thing that affects my excersize, what about you guys? What's the weather like where you are?

It was in the mid 70's today. Not too bad. Wasn't humid so it was bearable. We're supposed to get t-storms tonight though. When the weather gets into the 80's is when it gets unbearable here. Cuz that's usually humid weather and then the temps usually start to go up from there.

The best advice I have for you is to make sure you drink at least 8 oz of water before you exercise and then keep a bottle of water with you while you exercise. If you exercise out of doors, make sure you wear a hat with Cool-Max or other wicking material. Many runners keep an extra bottle of water on their belt to pour over their head if they go more than 1/2 hour too. that would work I think even if you walk or bike or do some other form of outdoor exercise. The hat will keep the sun off your hair and out of your eyes. this helps with sun stroke.

I would also see what the coolest part of the day is, If you have to , get up early. I am up at 4:30 to stay cool!

Hope that helps!

Hey Randi!!!

It's only going to be about 100-102 here today, but we just got back from Phoenix (as you know ) and it was 110 a the start of the D-backs game and that was 7:00 at night!!!!. Thought I was going to die!!!!

Remind me again.....who was it who decided that living in the desert was a great idea -- other than Bugsy Siegel????

I can ship you some of ours! With all the rain we've had they are spawning like uncontrolable monsters. I look like I have a bad case of the pox

We're in the same boat Trazzie, seeing we're both from WI and all. Dang things are more plentiful than birds right now. Have to dose up with skeeter spray before even THINKING of going outside....and that gives you like a 15 minute window to do whatever you needed outside before they realise you're actually there. IF you get the good spray. Otherwise you might as well put perfume on
But the next few days are supposed to be almost 90. Dang I hate it when it jumps that high. I need an air conditioner I think.

At least you guys in the desert have dry heat! We're getting into the summer months here when it is in the 90s temperature-wise and humidity-wise everyday-- yuck! Oh, and we've got PLENTY of mosquitos, too.

I actually get my walking and jogging in at noon every week day. It's a nice break from my apartment and working. It is a little hot, but I prepare myself for it. I drink a liter of water in the morning before I go. I also bring some water with me. I wear shorts and a T-shirt. They do get soaked, but it feels like I'm really getting some exercise in, so it's a good thing! It helps me to see other people out exercising because I realize if they're doing it, I can, too! I think if you adjust yourself to it and are prepared, you can exercise safely in the heat.
