Default Argh! ketosis frustration...

on top of not being able to remember my old name and password ( getting old is ****!) Im frustrated by this ketosis thing...how is it that last night, Im in moderate ketosis....and today after lunch ( and a total of 5 grams of carbs so far) Im showing negative on the sticks....does anyone else have this problem? does it wax and wane like weight does? At least if I knew it was normal I could ride it out....thanks for any help ( or unabashed sympathy) I can get in advance

Honestly, the color doesn't mean much. As long as you're registering a color, you're in ketosis and that's what matters. Since the color is a reflection of the amount of ketone bodies in your urine, if you're staying well hydrated like you should, it will register lighter just because you're flushing those little buggers out faster.

Make sense?

Also.. Have you drunk a lot of water or other fluids today? If you are peeing a lot.. they register less ketones as the day progresses THe best time to do the stick is in the morning when you first get up as the ketones will have collected over night...

I don't even bother with those buggers, its just another thing to obsess over. Karen and Star are right, during the course of you day the ketones will be flushed depending how much water you drink so the best time is in the AM.

I've never peed on a stick (well, not the kind you're all talking bout ) since I've started this new WOE. I'll just go by what the clothes, appetite, total well being (feeling) tells me. Well, that and the scale. lol
