I am getting back on track today if it kills me! slosh, slosh, slosh |
Hey, ladies! It sounds like everyone is recovering from their Easter feasts. I did pretty well yesterday, but got carried away with some nuts. OK. That could sound bad, but I'm talking of the cashew variety.
I always get so confused about what type of coffee Atkinsers can have. I went to a coffee shop last night with some friends, and I was bewildered by the menu. I always get regular coffee. So boring. Surely, there's something else I could drink, isn't there? All the other drinks sound so fun, but I figure the majority of them have milk or sugar in them. I don't know if I've mentioned this yet or not. My DH and I have been separated for 1- 1/2 years. We've always stayed best friends, and I thought we would work things out. I thought that's what the separation was about. Well, he used it as a time to date three women, and now he's serious about a girl from his church. Yes, his church. And, yes, she knows he's married. What is it with people these days??? Do they have no regard for marriage??? So, it looks like a divorce is in my future. I hate saying that, but it looks like all he's interested in is other women. Anyway, it's kind of a random time to tell you guys about it, but I don't think I'd mentioned anything yet and thought you all should know. So, I go from talking about nuts to coffee to divorce. Nice line of thinking... Work is calling my name. I wish it would shut up! :D I applied for another job yesterday, but who knows... Hope everyone has a great day! Take care, Jina |
Jina: I am sorry to hear about you and your husband. Yes you did mention that you were seperated but were still friends. Let's hope that can still continue...you have children don't you? Men can be such asses sometimes!
Stay strong |
Hiya all!
Jina: That has to be so hard... especially if you two have remained best friends and you were interested in saving the marriage. I'm so sorry, my thoughts are with ya girlie. I'm trudging right along today... trying to get a TON of work done since I slacked off Monday and Tuesday and will be gone on Friday. I'm making good progress though. |
Popping back in after my business calls this morning!
Barbie, I figure I should at least try to go to one reunion before I'm too old to go  Once may be enough but I need to go once anyway! TG, my class was an apathetic bunch of partiers....me included. I've changed :^: but when the letter I received says that the "kegs" of beer would be provided and if not into beer anymore there is a cash bar....I have to go check it out. Brenda, I enjoyed High School and have only kept in touch with one good friend and then a couple of my cousins. We'll see how it goes. May be a disaster but I won't be the only one there that's uncomfortable. Jina, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Well, better get back to work....I have laundry to fit in between some marketing research this morning etc. Nice to work in my "slippers" though! ;) Take care all! |
Jane, Shimma, bzyathome: Thanks!!
Jane: Nope. No children. I think we'll continue to be friends. It's gotten harder every time he has a girlfriend, but we still manage to end up as friends. Sometimes, I'm not sure how. And, a big "AMEN!" to the "men can be such asses" comment!! |
Good Morning Everyone,
For some reason in my infinite lazyness I didn't change any of the clocks in my room yesterday, so this morning I was running very late! But, on the plus side, the scale finally went down today for the first time in what feels like months. It's only 0.8 lb lower than it's ever been, but that's enough to make me happy for now, and it means I've lost over 10 lbs. Also, I've discovered the most wonderful thing. Individual packets of salad dressing at the grocery store. Makes it so much easier to eat in the caffeteria when I can bring my own dressing and not have to carry and entire bottle. Nice big green salad, with some chicken and egg on top. Filling and delicious. Trazzie- Congratulations on the 2.5lbs.! I'm ieally impressed you're even going to attempt automotive repair. Replacing wiper fluid is about as technical as I get. Mrs. H- You're craft festival sounds like fun. Outdoors + shopping = a good time. Shimma- Glad you're feeling better. I hope the health continues to improve. Jane- Sorry you're friends aren't very good making inclusive conversation. Maybe the food will be good? Marilyn- Hi! Pleased to make your aquiantance. Brenda- Congratulations on passing hunters safety. Does that mean you're allowed to go out and shoot things now? Lori- Sounds like a nice weekend. I love comedy clubs. If you are ever in Chicago we happen to have some of the best. Robin- Hi! Barbie- April showers bring may flowers? Star- Can I just say how much I like the phrase "rip- snorting." TG- New cable and internet! Very exciting! What a nice perk for your job. All I get is free bagels (which, of course, I do not eat). Jina- When I'm jonesing for fancy coffee drinks I get a decaff americano with sugar free vanilla syrup and add some cream. I count a grande at Starbucks as 5 carbs and it tastes like a vanilla latte. Or, if they have it, I get a cup of decaff chai tea (from the bag) then add equal and cream, and it tastes like a chai tea latte, and that I only count as 2. Best to all, Abbie |
Hey everyone - I'm back!
My car alarm is on the fritz and keeps going off so I had to go take it to the dealership so they can deal with it. Not a fun thing to happen on the same week I have to pay stupid taxes  Jina - I'm so sorry! Boys suck big time. It will get better - promise. I've been there too. :grouphug: |
Hi Ladies,
Just popping in to see ya all and to give you smooches. Jina, my sister was married for 16 years to her dumb scum hubby when last year he decided he was going to "hang out" at the local 7-11 and drink coffee w/his friends, turns out his "friends" was a woman 24 years old (and he is 37 with green teeth), anyways my sister did find out but he swore up and down that he did not sleep/cheat on my sister. They separated a little over a year ago and wouldnt you know 6 months after they separated he is living with this young girl (home wrecker) who KNEW!!!!! he was married w/4 freakin kids, and he still swears they never had sex until they moved in together......YEAH RIGHT!! My sister is handling it well now and is having the time of her life, she is finally starting to live for her. SOOO just to make sure this woman and her soon to be Ex are playing house together, the correct way my sister makes him take the kids every weekend, just so she gets a little taste of what its like to be a "step mom" ((((evil grin)))).... so now she works all week and can't relax on the weekends haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa PAYBACKS neener neener neeeeener !!!!! Well?? he did ask for it didn't he ? ;) Did I mention the one boy is 16 and eats them out of house and home.............snort~ Jina there is something out there awaiting for you thats bigger and better, you'll see. HUGS AND KISSES !!!! Talk to you all later ;) |
Jina - I am so sorry to hear this!! :) Vet with us any time. MEN!!!
About the coffee - I get the Decaf Sugar free Americanos too. Some of the coffee houses have other flavors in SF besides the Vanilla. I get them with no room.. since they are just coffee, hot water and the syrup.. a grande is about 2 Carbs I plan to try it out iced on a warmer day too! :) Sorry I was MIA yesterday.. I had lots of work! Still do! I dont have time to get too personal now! BUT I have been running and stitcking to induction like glue! The scale reads 4.5 lbs lighter today.. but I wont change anything until monday! Dang sugar affects me horribly! TOM is overdue too! To those talking about reunions.. My 20 year is in 2005 (So Im over 35 too~) I plan to be at goal with a toned sleek body dressed in a crocheted backless cocktail dress.. since I was overweight in high school.. I want to wow them all! I was really close to my class (210 of the best girls in the world at a great all girls catholic High school) Still close with the guys too at the boys school right across the street. we hold our reunion together! My best friend and I are going as each others dates since both our hubbys are anti-reunion as they didnt go to school with us! Talk to you all later! |
Abbie - Thanks for the tip. My husband and I were actually contemplating Chicago for our anniversary in June!!!

Halloo Again,
I had one of the most worst days at work imaginable, the "big" bosses were there doing an inspection and they are so darn picky.. All day I had someone or another looking over my shoulder and telling me things I already knew etc.. OYE! Friday can't come soon enough! Well anyways just before I punched out my boss came up and told me that one of the big guys wanted to speak to me.. EEK.. all I could think of was "what did I do".. So I walk over all worried and he says "Take a seat Traci, Your looking great.. You've lost alot of weight" YIPPIE that was enough to make up for the **** he put me through all day. So he just wanted me to tell him what I've been doing and I explained Atkins to him and he wants to try it starting Monday. So I'm on cloud 9 at the moment. Someone actually noticed! As far as the car, trust me I would rather attempt to fix it then let my DH anywhere close to it.. he needs help changing a lightbulb for pete's sake! Star - I once had a vehicle that did the same, only it wasn't an alarm.. the horn was just possessed and decided to randomly scream. I worked in a factory at the time and the top dog got tired of hearing it so he sent a mechanic out to disconnect it  I never did get that darn thing fixed. Brenda - Congrats girly on passing the hunters safety! See I told ya you could do it! MrsH - Enjoy your wonderfully warm weekend. Weather here is supposed to be great, Saturday I have my sisters wedding but I plan on soaking up some rays on Sunday. Shimma - Happy to hear your feeling a tad better today, sinus problems are horrible! Grats on your loss.. even if your not counting it ;) Jane - Your outfit will most deffinatly catch their attention.. I'm sure you'll be involved in conversation tonight! You Go Girl! BZ - Wont that be fun to walk into your class reunion looking like a hottie! Lori - I used to bartend at a comedy club.. that was the greatest job I swear! Where else can you drink, chat and have great entertainment at work. Too shame the owners sold it *sigh* Robin - Great job on the cheat free day! Barbie - Rain is never much fun, but I love the way it makes the world smell! I'd take it for a few days in the 80's for sure. Theo - Free cable and internet will be awesome! Ours just went up again and I'm paying 92 bucks a month for it. I think about canceling it but I don't ever want to go back to dial up.. the thought just scares me  Enjoy! Jd - Sorry to hear about the marriage not working out. It's always sad when one wants to make it work and the other just throws it away. Except for my first marriage.. throwing that bum away was the best thing I ever could have done.. Now I'm married to a wonderful man and I'm very thankful I choose to take the path I did. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise for you :) Genghis - I have been searching for packets of dressings but no place around here carries them. That would make things so much more easier, so I just snagged a couple of blue cheese ones from work .. shhhh ;) Leenie - Hope your having a great day! Karen - Wow 4.5 lbs! Way to go! That has to feel good even with the dreaded TOM on the verge. Hopefully the scale will be just as kind to you on Monday.. if not kinder! Whew, posting personals is getting to be a workout within itself eh? Speaking of which I have a little over a half hour to pick up the kiddos so I want to get some kind of activity in. I bought some generic pilates workout, maybe I'll pop that in and give it a try. If I like the concept I can always go get a better video. Have a good one all! ---The End---;) |
Ok. I just counted the days (man are they going fast!!) and TOM is fast approaching. The talk about that reminded me we seem to be on a close schedule ( ) and to do the math. So I'm all stocked up with pads, heating "pads" (ya know, the kind that sticks to your undies and provides heat? That invention is the best thing since chocolate!).....ok. I'm going to TRY and do w/out chocolate this month. :D Time will tell, and hopefully this month I don't get whipped out by TOM!!
