THURSDAY CHAT - March 18th
The day after ;)
Hope you all didn't get sloshed on any green beer yesterday lol. Just popping in to start this bad boy up and to say have a blessed wonderful day. Love you ! Leenie |
Morning all!
I would just like to thank everyone for their support yesterday. I REALLY REALLY appreciate it. I felt sooooo low. However, I took some time for myself last night and thought about everything that's happened in my life the past year and where it might be leading to and I feel quite a bit better about everything. I even managed to stay low carb last night for dinner. Made some nachos with pork rinds, sausage and cheese sauce and salsa and black olives. Now, it felt like being bad..... but really wasn't. Anyway, thank you all sooooo much. :grouphug: I'm feeling very positive today and drinking coffee like a fiend since I didn't sleep well last night. My first class should be interesting... I'll be talking at 100mph and they won't know what to do! I'll check in later ya'll!! |
Rhonda glad your feeling better today.....bring a tape recorder to class ;)
|
Leenie: Morning and I for one did not partake of anything alcoholic last night. So I'm free and clear :smug:
Shimma: Sorry to hear about your sleepless night. But glad you're starting to feel better!! That's a good sign :) Well, it's another stupid snowy day in Wisconsin. Spring is NOT coming this year. We'll jump from winter to summer. no spring or fall for us. I'm tired again. I'm sick of being tired. Where's all this energy I'm supposed to have on this WOE?? Maybe it's just because TOM is coming, or maybe I'm just too obsessed with trying to figure out "chocolate or no chocolate" and then giving in (chocolate whipped topping got me last night). UGH! I wish TOM would come and get it over with so I can go back to having at least decent amount of energy!!. UGH. I best end this before I get too bummy. You all have a great day :) |
OH THE HORROR! There was nothing to eat in the house when I got home last night so dh suggested we go out to eat. Don't worry.....eating wise was fine. Had a salad with steak tips. BUT I HAD 2 GLASSES OF WINE! So much for my not drinking during the week idea. Oh well......tonight is another night...back to my club soda.
I don't think I am going to make my NYC challenge goal....but I got very close! I went shopping last night and ALMOST.....and I mean almost....got into a size 10 pair of pants. Sizes are just so screwed up. I have no clothes!!!! Everything is too big but the next size is too small. I can't walk around naked now can I? I have to find some stuff that fits. I am going to take in my dress slacks.....I have three pairs in different colors. But I have no skirts....the jean skirt I just bought last month is huge...it looks stupid on me. gggggrrrrrrrr Once summer hits I will be ok, all my summer stuff was too small last year so I should fit right into them. So I just need some stuff to get me by for now. Good morning Leenie Shimma: Glad you are feeling a little better today. Brenda: We got snow too and we could get more on Friday.....it really does suck. I am tired too....I think we are tired because it has been such a long winter. Once the good weather hits we will all feel better and will be able to get outside and have some fun. Will check in more later. Have a good day. |
Good morning everyone!
Leenie: unfortunately St. Patrick's day always seems like such a busy time of year for me and I didn't get a chance this year to really celebrate it, except spend a small amount of time at the big parade on Sunday. :) I really should put some more effort into celebrating it since I have Irish roots on both sides of my family. Shimma: I read yesterday's thread, and I'm glad you're feeling better today and I hope that things do work out for you and nursing school. Brenda: blech, snow here, too. Although I'm a bit bitter about the cold weather returning, if I'm at all honest, I should say that I'm not expecting it to really end until about the 2nd week of April. We're almost there! Jane: even though it's hard finding clothes right now, at least you're going down!! :) I have loads of test results to process today. I'm interested to see the final results, but the processing is going to be a bit tedious. And I found out that they are going to move the students around AGAIN. (about the third time in the last half year that they are moving us to different offices). Funny thing is though, that I'm pretty much moving back to where I started orginally. *rolls eyes*. But it's good though because my new desk is in the robotics lab, and there are some really neat projects going on in there, so although it'll be a bit noisy, it's a fun location. My friend and I decided that we would like to try lawn bowling this summer. I know typically you just see grandparents all dressed in white playing it, but we thought it would be fun to try, and there's a place just across from my apartment building, so we're going to see if they'll let us play! :) Anyway, back to work for me! I'm sorry I haven't been around much, I'll try to be better, but just know that I'm still lurking even you don't hear from me everyday! Take care all, Julie. |
Good Morning,
Thought I'd try to pop in early today since I'm going to get my hair done in Boston and probably won't be back till much later. Went to the gym yesterday for the second day in a row and lifted weights. I'm hoping I'll have time to go again today. I'm either going to have toned arms or die trying. Had my first lose clothing experience this morning, unfortunately it was my bra. Not exactly what I was hoping for, as I'd sort of like to keep the fat up there, but I guess it's progress. Leenie- I stayed away from the green beer yesterday, but I can't say the same for most of my friends. I'm feeling very responsible and un-hungover right now. Shimma- So glad you're feeling better. I'm sure your class will go beautifully and the talking will be interpreted as passionate interest in the topic at hand Brenda- I'm from Chicago and I completely know what it's like to go from snow one week to 85 degrees the next. I'd hoped things would be differnet on the east coast, but it's late March and it's still snowing, so I just don't know. Jane- It must be wonderful to really see your progress in your clothes. Enjoy it? Have a good day. Abbie |
Hi Ladies,
Work is really busy and so is my whole day. Thought I would just drop by to say HI since it will be late tonight that I get back on the computer!!! All of you have a great day!!! Love TG |
good morning all!
I stayed away from the alcohol! Made myself a pot of caffeine free peppermint tea instead! :) but man I have a headache today! I have cut way back on my caffeine and I am starting to notice today! Shimma - I didnt get a chance to respond yesterday! I remember going through that applying to colleges. I really wanted to go to CAL Poly San Luis Obispo for my Computer Science degree but didnt get in! I was depressed for weeks! I ended up at CA State Chico who lifted the freeze on their Comp Sci admissions to let me in. It ended up they were the better school anyway when it came down to finding a job afterwards. :) I am glad you are feeling better today! I know that something great will happen! Leenie:  Is the boss in today? Brenda: Western WA is not a snowy part of the state, but man have we had a lot this year. And now they are telling us we have a ::Chance:: of snow again this weekend. THe temps have dropped quite a bit since yesterday, so who knows!? At least my crocus and Daffodils are in bloom! :) Jane - I am kind of in the same spot as you are right now. My clothes are big but the next size is too small. I have discovered that if I dry my jeans in the dryer they dont look as big on me, but the waist is still bugging me! I totally agree with the sizing thing though! I think they are screwed up too! :) Julie - It was so great to see your post! I love to hear about all the cool stuff you are doing!! Robotics huh? I would love to sit in that area too! What exactly are you studying?? Abbie - Good for you lifting weights! just make sure you give your body 36-48 hours between lifting for the same parts. I do upper body one day then lower the next just so I dont tear down the muscles and injure myself! You will have toned arms at this rate! I need to get back to the gym. TOM has arrived with a vengance and I am having that stupid numbness again in my lowerback and left leg. UGH! I see that hystorectomy in my future. :( With the numbness, I fall while walking so I dont think getting on a motorized cardio machine is a good idea. But I have been walking sophie, but very slowly. BUT the good news is that my eating is going very well for the week! :) We had corned beef and cabbage for dinner and I found some new PEACH Jell-o in the sugar-free. that was so yummy! DH is Irish, so we always have corned beef. But this was the first year in a long time I could have the serving I wanted and not feel guilty about it! WOO HOO! The kids had a Parade. The school gets really into it for St Pattys day. I have some pics and as soon as I can I will post a couple of them. My daughters kindergarten class won the award for the best float in the primary grades. It was a Pot of Gold! The rainbow was made with the rainbow colored pinwheels. It really was cute! :) Today I will be home cleaning up around the house! OH! Someone asked me how my website is going? I dont remember who. It is good. I have learned to make my own logo now with Photoshop so I have added that. It isnt complete yet, but If you want to take a peek, here is my site Crochet Legacy Some of my patterns are up but I am still working on some of the catalog pages! |
TG - You snuck in on me! have a good day!
|
Leenie: No green beer for me, either! You know, even during my rowdy days as a college student, I never tried green beer. (I sure drank enough of the regular stuff, though. :o ) Next year, I think it's high time for me to try green beer!
Shimma: I read yesterday's post, too, and I'm sorry that you didn't get into nursing school. I'm glad you are feeling better. Take care! Brenda: I know what you mean! Even though TOM only comes for five days/month, it feels like an eternity! And, I usually eat enough during that time to last an eternity. You can make it through it! Jane: Sizes suck! It seems to me that if you wear a size 10, you should be able to go into any store, pick up any pair of size 10 pants, and they would fit. Unfortunately, it doesn't work anything like that! Julie: Yay!! Glad you're here. I miss hearing from you! I think you might need to post the pictures of the lawn-bowling adventure. :D Abbie: I hear you about not wanting to have a loose bra. That's the one thing that scares me about losing weight. I am perfectly happy with the size of my boobs now. I don't want them to shrink! I'm afraid it's unevitable, though. :( BTW, where in Florida did you visit? (I saw your post a few days ago, but didn't get a chance to post.) I had an all-day meeting yesterday -- ick. I guess I shouldn't complain. I have to go to one meeting a month. The rest of the time I can work at home in my pjs. So, because of that and having a church group meeting last night, I didn't get in any exercise yesterday. I miss it! I'm going to try and get some extra in today. I've also made a vow that while my dad is visiting next week, I will still exercise. Usually, I just don't exercise when I have guests, but I'm going to get some walking in this time. This is going to be a stretch for me, but I am going to wake up early and walk at least a couple of miles everyday. Well, I hope everyone has a great Thursday! Take care, Jina |
Wow! I'm an incredibly slow poster. You'd think since I write for a living, I would be able to write a little faster.
TG: Hi! Hope you have a great day! Karen: The numbness in your back and leg sounds scary!! Be careful, and take care of yourself! Also, thanks for posting your site. I can't wait to check it out! |
Good morning (or, late afternoon) everyone!
Shimma, I'm SO glad you're feeling better! Things will work out, even if you have to take another route to get there! Clothes sizes!!! What is going on! I completely agree with you guys. The sizes seem to have completely changed since when I was younger. I can wear size 12s today, but not any of my old 12s from high school. I can't even begin to button them. Also, they are making everything STRETCH these days, so even if they fit when you put them on, by the end of the day, they are sagging. I started buying anything that has even 2% lycra in it a size smaller. They are tight when I put them on, but by the time I get to work they fit. But ... it is frustrating! |
Hiya girls!
Once again, thanks for all the well wishes. You guys are the greatest!!! As for the sizes.... I've held back from going shopping just yet. All of my jeans are baggy on me except for the 2 pairs that I had that were once to tight to even BEGIN to THINK about buttoning them. Also, I had 2 pairs of dress pants that were too small and now fit perfectly. I haven't looked at the sizes on ANY of that stuff though. The reason I've been holding off on shopping is that 1. I know this is just a transition weight, so the longer I can hold off on buying new things, the less money I'll waste. 2. I'll probably be disappointed by not being able to fit into a size smaller and have my current size be too small. So, right now I'm just being happy that things are too big because I'm so not ready to do the battle of the ever-changing sizes. It depends on where you go and what brand and what cut and what length and if you stand on one foot and lean to the left and whistle a tune then this size will fit but it you lean to the right you need 2 sizes bigger. No thanks! |
"It depends on where you go and what brand and what cut and what length and if you stand on one foot and lean to the left and whistle a tune then this size will fit but it you lean to the right you need 2 sizes bigger. No thanks!"
 That is SOOO true, Shimma! And we also have our "monthly water retention" to worry about too! |
Hello Ladies!!
Lennie:  No green beer for me last night. I used to could handle that when I was younger, but afraid of what I would feel like the next day now! Hope you have a great day also! Shimma: I am so glad that you are feeling much better today. Sorry that you didn't get into the nursing program, but dont' give up. Anything worth having is worth fighting for! Hang in there and I am sure things will get better! Brenda: Now I feel bad about complaining about alittle rain here today! I would definaltely not be happy if we had snow! So keep it up there with you! ;) Here in North Carolina we normally dont' get very much of the snowy weather. But this year it has been far more snow than normal. I am so glad that spring is almost here. We have already had a couple of days in the mid 70's. Hope they start coming more frenquently now that the calendar says spring is only a few days away! Like you, I also have a very hard time dealing with chocolate during TOM. During the other parts of the month I can stay away from it but something about TOM makes me fell like if I don't get chocolate I will die lol Lets try to fight this horrible craving together! Jane: You have done great on your weigt loss. Even if you dont' make your NYC challenge, you have still came very close to it. You deserve credit for that! And you deserved that wine last night too! At least you had an OP dinner, so 2 little glasses of wine can't be that bad! And I can so relate with you on the sizes issue. I think all of the manufacturers need to get together and get their stuff right. I wanna be able to go in and grab my size and know it will fit  A lot of my clothes are getting very baggy on me now.. think a shopping trip may be in store for the near future! Leeker: Good luck on your move to your new desk! Being at the lab sounds like if would be very interesting. Never heard of Lawn Bowling here..just what is that? lol Abbie: Have fun getting that new hair style. And congrats on getting to the gym. I am trying so hard to get into a normal excercise routine here. Lucky for me I haven't had the problem with the loose bra lately. That's the only place I don't wanna lose weight  TG:  Sorry you are having such a busy day, but hang in there it's almost Friday!!!!! Karen: You take care of youself hun. That numbness just doesn't sound very good. Also hope your headache goes away! I too have those from time to time because of the caffeine withdrawal! I can relate to you cleaning today. I am off today so will be spending a great deal of time cleaning the house. That is if I can get my butt outta this computer chair long enough  Jina: Good luck with your exercising next week. Set your mind to it and I know you will do well! Teece:  hope you are having a wonderful day! Well....I weighed in this morning and I am down 2 lbs, so I am happy today! I tend to get on the scale way to much also! Only thing that really ticks me off is hubby started this WOE 2 months after me and he only has 7 lbs to catch up to my weight loss. grrrrrr How come the weight seems to just fall off of the guys why we have to struggle? But I am happy for him that he has done so well! Well I am off work today, so gonna try to pry my butt from this computer chair and get a little work done around the house. Hope you all have a great day, and I will check back in later! Lisa |
I haven't even begun to try on different clothes at the stores. I'm down to 3 pairs of pants that actually fit (size 12's) and they were old to begin with so they're getting kind of thin. I'm hoping my size goes down so when I DO go to the store I can try stuff on and it'll actually FIT. You would think that sizes would be universal.
I was on my way to work this morning, and listening to the radio. Now one of the dudes on this station I listen to has tried EVERY diet imaginable (also pills). So he's tried Atkins now. He quit. One of the ladies there this morning referred to it as the "meat and cheese diet." So guess who's going to make an email to that chick and tell her what she can do with the "meat and cheese" diet?? Dang I hate PMS!!! I feel like I've got the energy of a slug and my attention today is worse!! Lord help me get through this TOM!!!! And it's not even HERE yet!! *sigh* |
Should I mention it's probably a good thing I'm not stepping on the scale this week?
|
OMG yesterday was all sorts of screwy for me! I ended up not eating much (some cheese, some jicama salad, and a spoonful of peanut butter - that's it!) and then decided that St. Paddy's will be my one time of the year to drink Guinness or any other heavy beer. So, at 1:30 in the afternoon, with the aid of several co-workers, I started drinking Guinness. By 7:30, I'd had 4 of them and was feeling fine, but the beer no longer tasted any good.
Then all this strangeness started when 2 of the women there (one co-worker and one non) started getting all territorial over my good friend (also co-worker). He was sloshed and clueless, so I had to get him out of there. We ended up going to the local pub and meeting up with my dh around 8:30. It was great fun! By that point, I had no more interest in beer, so I switched to Schmirnoff Twist with diet Sprite.....and had 3. Ugh! So I finally got home around 12:30 in the morning. Happily, I'm not hung over, but OMG I'm tired! :tired: I'm glad that one day of the year is over! Leenie - I love you too! Shimma - So glad you're feeling better! Brenda - are you exercising? I've found that if I'm not exercising, I'm very tired and run down. It seems like a contradiction, but exercise gives me energy :) Jane - I hate being in between sizes!!! It's worse than going through the 'ugly' stage of growing your hair out. Hang in there! And now that you've seen the full horror of what I did last night, you don't have to feel so bad about your wine ;) Julie - I LOVE lawn bowling! Ok, actually, I love bocce ball, but I'm pretty sure the two are similar. Not only is it great fun, but those balls are heavy enough to give your arms a nice workout! Abbie - The bra thing makes me laugh. I used to have freakishly huge boobs, so I had a reduction done 4 years ago. I was so mad that the surgeon only got me down to a C cup! For the last several months, I've been in a 36C - that was ok. Now, I can't fill out the cups, but a 36B doesn't fit right either. So now it's 38B. So confusing! What was my point???? Oh! I'm so happy when they get smaller! (as long as they don't get longer!) Karen - Darling, you're so dang busy you don't have time to be bad! Hmmmm....maybe I should find me some more projects! Jina - You're so good about your exercise! I'm sure you'll do great with your dad visiting and everything :) Teece - I haven't met you yet! I personally love the stretch jeans. I like how they fit your shape instead of making you try to fit a manufacturer's idea of what your shape should be. That said, I also hate the ones that lose their 'spring' halfway through the day. I think it's a brand thing. Have you tried LEI? They're great! I've also found that the stretch jeans in the Junior's section hold up better. I don't know why, though. Ok, I suppose I should go work.....sigh. TTFN! |
Wow! That took me a long time!
Hi Mrs H!!! |
You know. I think my boobs are a tad smaller (oh man I used to hate them!! I could never see my gut over my boobs!! Now I can see the tips of my toes. lol). Anyway, the thing is...now I'm old and they're saggy. Do docs do boob tucks? lol. I'd like them at least a little perky instead of hanging down like a cow udder. (ok, they're not THAT bad. but ya get the point)
|
I have a dumb question  What does "TOM" stand for? I know what you guys are referring to, but have never heard that before.
I don't keep track of my period, but I'm sure it's coming soon. I've been wanting to eat everything in site. :ink: We have choc. chip cookies (a huge bag of them) sitting on the counter in the kitchen and it's torture to walk past them. haha! I just keep telling myself that I can give up a few months of my life to get this over with! :^: I know there's maintenance to worry about afterwards, but I hope I'll be digging my new size SO much and will be used to low-carb eating by then, that I can do it. |
TOM=time of month
How can you NOT keep track of it? If I don't I'd end up with "OOPS" every month!! |
Star, thanks for the tip on LEI jeans. I'll give them a shot when I hit a decent size. I shop in the junior section sometimes (especially before I put weight back on) and my kids would be horrified.
Lady, well yes, they CAN do a boob tuck. My mother and I are both on Atkins and trying to hit our goal weight/sizes by summertime. If we do it, we're both going to get tummy tucks. I'd also love to get a breast lift, but we'll see. After four kids ... things just aren't the same! ;) |
TOM makes sense now. I thought the "M" stood for menstruation, so I couldn't figure out what "TO" meant. I've had my tubes tied so I no longer have to worry about it! :cb:
|
Hi Everyone! :D
I can relate to the incredible shrinking boobs! When I lost my big chunk of weight last summer, they were the first place to go. I went from a 36C to probably a 34B. But it could be even smaller, I refuse to go buy new bras so I still wear the big ones! My BF thinks its the funniest thing, me and my baggy bras. I just HATE spending money on them! They are smaller now then they were when I was 13 I think! My TOM craving is peanut butter! I can go without the chocolate, but wow do I love just eating the darn stuff right out of the jar! But I guess it could be worse, I could be craving something super carb filled right now! My problem finding pants that fit is hunting down stores that sell them in lengths. I have verrrrrry short legs so most jeans are way too long on me. I also love the jeans with stretch in them, I have a great pair from Express, so great that I have them in size 10, 8, and 6! And they run big so I can squeeze my size 8 butt into the 6's! (sometimes, at least!) Hope everyone has a great night, I am going out to dinner to TGIFriday's so I am hoping their 'Atkin's Approved Menu' does me well! :^: |
Hiya girlies!
You know, my TOM has always been screwey, I never knew when it was coming! This will be my first TOM on birth control and it's due any hour now.... I'm kind of excited, I actually know WHEN it's going to happen! Yeah, ya'll can call me a dork. Work is extremely frustrating today... too many parents having ideas about spring break. Personally, I think giving high school students a week long spring break is just encouraging them to do stupid things (so they can be just like college students). I honestly had kids head to Florida last year while telling their parents they were somewhere else. Ridiculous! So anyway, I postponed their test so it's not their first day back, but I gave them a project to do.... tons of parents calling and complaining that their kids should be able to relax during spring break. Ugh. Am I wrong in thinking that if we expect more from our kids then they will step up to the challenge instead of trying to get out of every single responsibility life throws at them? I need to cool off or I' m going to blow on the next parent who calls. Jane: I think you've done really well with your weight loss lately and I think you have every reason to be proud of your accomplishment! You look great, don't let those few pounds make you feel like you don't!!! Brenda: Are you ready to scream at mother nature about all the snow we've been having? I hate it, hate it hate it! It seems so ridiculous that this morning we had a freaking blizzard outside! Ugh! Spring? Can I please have spring now? Or at least a little sunshine? Everyone else  I'm still trying to get a handle on all the new peeps... but WELCOME! |
Hello Ladies:
Shimma: I am so sorry to hear about not getting into school. The same thing happend to a friend of mine some years back. She ended up getting into a better program. You just weren't meant to go now. God has something better for you too :D Brenda: I hope Spring comes quickly for you! TOM is a bi**h isn't it? I crave chocolate like crazy! You may want to try making the chocolate truffle recepie in the Atkins book. Jane: At least all of your clothes aren't too small! Contrats on the baggy duds! Hope to be there soon. G.C. I wish my bra was loose! That seems to be the only place I don't get any smaller. I always look like a small wind will land me on my face. Kudos to you for going to the gym. TG:  Karen: Yeah to you! :D J. Dog:  Teece: One day the size 12 will be a 10! Keep up the good work. Mrs. H: Congrats on your 2 lbs! :D Way to go! Star: Glad you don't have a hangover! FYI: Just because it is :) day, you don't have to drink  (yeah right)! I managed not to drink, God only knows how! Aly:  Leenie:  If I forgot anyone, please forgive me! I hope you are all doing great and having a wonderful day! So far, so good for me. My cheekbones are still making their comeback, and I have more energy. TOM is coming up, and that means SUGAR!!!!!!!!!!! I made the chocolate truffles in the back of the Atkins book (not my favorite), and the Italian cream recepie. The Italian cream is AWESOME! It hit the spot. I think I can get used to this WOE. It is for my health this time, so I don't have a choice but to get used to it. Splenda isn't too bad for frankenfood! I will always love sugar, and plan to have it on the holidays, but not to be a glutton like I was. Take care all! |
Hi again ladies I was just on break and thought I would drop by again and respond to other posts.
And Miss Star, We need to go to Uncle *****y's, my dh will never go but maybe my sis who is on Atkins will, lets figure it out. TG |
Wow, we are all so chatty today!
Phew Star now I feel better  But I forgot that I was nibbling on some bread last night too!!!!!! OMG I am a sucker for nice baked bread. Oh well at least I only had a few bites. I will do my exercises tonight to work it off. Brenda: Hang on girl....it only lasts a week or so. Shimma: yes I agree with you......kids these days are a little babied if you ask me. Don't give them too much to do.....they don't have to get jobs like I had to because it is too much for them to handle......have a discussion with them instead of WACKIN them one :o Sorry. Remember when we were younger and we said that we would never say "kids these days"? alysonwonderland: Baggy bras  When I got married last year I was at my highest weight and was horrified when I had to buy a bra for my gown and it was a 38 C  I used to be a 36 barely A for cryin out loud. Teece: I want to get lyposuction done on my stomach...it just isn't getting much smaller and don't even get me going on what happens when I lay on my side. Mrs H: Congrats on the 2 pounds! Men just seem to lose so much easier than we do. It really pisses me off too. Jina: I wish I had the dedication that you do about exercise. I haven't gotten in enough of it this week and I can feel it. My plan is to do my tape tonight as long as I am not home too late after I get home from shopping. Well, hope I didn't miss anyone. Have a good afternoon. Will check in before I head home. |
TORTURE! I got a caesar salad for lunch and am throwing out the croutons! Such a shame! One day I'll be able to eat croutons without guilt. I also bought a bag of the Atkins Crunchers. Have any of you tried them? I like them, but my mother hates them.
|
I haven't had them, but I am not a big fan of frankenfood. I had a chicken ceasar for lunch, but thank God the croutons at this deli suck, so it wasn't hard to leave them out!
|
WOW! You all are Chatty!
I guess I should have mentioned what was up with the numbness for the newbies. I have endometriosis and it grows on my spine. So when I have TOM I get numb because it is right on the nerve endings that control my left leg. In July I had surgery to have it taken off, but apparently it is short lived this time around. Last time is was 8 years before I needed to have it done again. And it was so bad last time that he said we wouldnt play around with lasers, it is hystorectomy the next time. Shimma - I think you are right to have a project during break for High schoolers! I always did! But then again, I was in a catholic all girls high school... they always expect a bit more.... I dont think i could catch up with all of you now! :) way too many posts! So I am off to eat my egg salad! :) talk to you later! :) |
Hi Everyone,
Last night was so much fun. My youngest DD won the kids dart tourney and got the most bullseyes so she's a happy camper coming home with 2 tropheys. When the pizza hit it was sooooo hard... they kept bringing me plates trying to get me to eat up. I was all "no im no hungry" " no thanks, not in the mood for pizza" etc.. I really didn't want to tell the world HEY IM FAT I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT.. CANT YOU SEE YOUR KILLING ME HERE?.. So I made way for the door and went to Subway and got the chicken wrap. Filled me right up and I headed back happy as can be, but that pepperoni pizza kept calling my name.. the dirty little bugger.. I ignored it and did just fine :) Later tho I was asked why I couldn't have pizza.. these people know me and know how much I LOVE to eat and couldn't figure out why the past couple of times I've joined them I haven't eaten anything.. so I broke down and told them hoping I wouldnt have to fight with a houseful of people about the "evils" of the Atkins Plan. Surprisingly enough they all thought it was cool and told me they would feed me peas next time.. GAG no thank you I HATE peas! Maybe now that it's out in the open it will be easier for me when we all get together. On other aspects in life, I'm disappointed. I called to make an appointment to renew my birth control. I have a Norplant at the moment. For me it was god sent. 5 tubes injected into your arm and you dont have to worry about it for 5 years. I wanted to get new ones put in since I'm now on year 7  but was told that they have been discontinued! Now what am I going to do??? *sigh* Pills make me very sick.. they are not an option. I don't like the idea of getting a shot every 3 months and the patch just doesnt seem to be fitting for me. Ack I dunno.......doc said he would try to get ahold of it for me but he couldnt make any promises and I wont know until I go in. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Brenda - I seem to have lost all energy as well. Just so tired lately I don't really know whats going on. But as Star mentioned I haven't exercised in about a week. Other then a few short bike rides etc.. I havent given it nuts like normal. It's either that or this darn snow! Depressing as all get out! Shimma - Happy to hear your feeling a tad better today. Hang in there girly and get a good nights sleep. You'll do just great! Jane - As far as your NYC goal... well the numbers and you may not agree, but look at what you have accomplished. That is something to be pround of no matter! You clothes will be fitting just great here in a few, I would rather be "inbetween" sizes headed towards the lower then be stuck at where I was when I started. Cat - My father is diabetic and he's one of the stubborn ones that doesn't like to admit it. Mom and I are both on Atkin's and he has been too.. he just doesnt realize it  I can't technically say that because she still feeds him potatoes, but all sweets and etc have been converted. Bravo to you for taking control of your health before the real problems arise. Your a step ahead of yourself :) Aly - Ive so much wanted to try TGIF's but we dont have one anywhere close to us. Let me know if its worth the hours of driving to dine. Enjoy your dinner! Teece - Don't feel bad I never kept track of TOM either. It's been so stubborn and so irregular I just gave up on it. Strange but since I've been on Atkins it seems to be pretty predictable. Star - WTG on avoiding the hangover. I very rarely drink but when I do I giver er nuts and it's always a given the next day I'm going to be spending in slow motion, IF I bother to move at all  GC - Of all the places huh? I haven't noticed ANY difference in that area which is surprising me, I thought they were going to be the first to go. I wouldnt complain alot, as of now if I want to workout or do anything that requires a bit of bounce I have to to strap them bad boys down. I wear a sports bra thats 2 sizes to small for me just so I don't give myself a black eye  Karen - That numbing does sound terrifying.. such an added bonus on top of the TOM troubles eh? Your website looks great btw, such wonderful designs! Your a very creative person.. Good for you! Jd - It is extremely difficult to keep up the routines while you have visitors, great choice of going for your walks! But ya never know, maybe you can even get an extra one in with the company of your father :) MrsH - GRATZ on the loss! Doesn't it just make you sick how fast men can lose it! ARG! Just not fair! ;) to anyone I missed.. so many posts today so hard to keep up! Have a great day all and YEAH tomorrow is Friday!!! |
Karen, I'm sorry to hear about your endometriosis. My sister-in-law had it and I remember the pain she went through. Hang in there! :grouphug:

Karen: Forgot to tell you I went to your web site this morning. LOVED IT. I even sent the link to a friend of mine at work who is an avid crocheter! She was thrilled. You should be so proud!

(or at least since Puberty) But at 37 you just want to give it all up sometimes! I have my 2 kids and I am happy that I got them so if the Hysto is in my future.. So be it! (Can you tell Im tired of it?) Thanks to everyone for the kind words about my site too! I have a lot of fun with it! OH ---- did I mention, I am going to be in New Hampshire in July to teach at the Crochet Guild of America's National conference. :cheer: Is anyone here close by to meet me for coffee or something while I am there? I'll be in Manchester at a hotel near the Airport. |
Karen: I am about an hour away from Manchester. How cool is that that you are going to teach at the convention. I am going to a scrapbook convention there in May....wonder if it is at the same place.

WOW -- what's up with all the chatter today? I wish I came home earlier so I could have time to send out individual "hellos" to everyone. Sounds like most everyone is doing well. Not much news to report here, other than it's already been in the high 80's to 90 for the past few days and I'm slowly running out of clothing options for work. There is just absolutely no way that I'm going to start shopping now. I've got about 25 more pounds to go, and I don't intend to spend money on a "tween" wardrobe that i won't be wearing 3-4 months from now! Interesting what sort of outfits you can pull together, however, out of desperation!!
Later, gators! |
Sped I have been going to Goodwill for in between clothes for Cheap...you would be surprised at the practically new clothes there!!
