This for some reason escapes me.
There's the carb count on the back of everything (well, if it has carbs anyway). So my question is: Does the carb count include sugar alcohols or do those have to be added to the carb count?
For example.
If you buy a bar and it has 12 gr. of carbs. but there's 16 sugar carbs. is thre 26 total carbs??
Normally it states 'Total Carbohydrates' and then a number and below that is the breakdown of fiber, sugar, sugar alcohols, etc. so the total number is really the total. No addition required.
However these damn sugar free candy makers have been trying to get more sneaky. I've noticed on several occasions where the total carb count seems low and then in little print there will be a note that sugar alcohols were not included in the total carb count. How cruddy is that?
So, once again, always read your labels!!!!
ok. Understand the first part--but gonna have to re-check the mint things I bought to make sure the 2nd doesn't fall in that category. Those people really stink!!!
