Low carb and and spotting

  • Sorry, this might be TMI for some.
    I have been on the low carb/keto diet for a little over 3 weeks now and have been spotting daily. My breasts are sore and tender, just like before your period starts. I also have only lost 4 pounds total. What is happening to my body?? I feel like my clothes are slightly looser, but not much. Why am I not losing weight and constantly spotting?? So frustrating!! I haven't cheated once and drink at least a gallon of water daily. What am I doing wrong??

    have you found a solution/answer? that does sound worrysome!

    if it were me, I'd go back to a normal diet for a week and see if the spotting changes. if not, go to a doc. if it does, proceed with caution.

  • Your hormones could be adjusting to burning fat. Extra body fat causes excess estrogen, and now since you are burning fat instead of glucose all of that is being released in your body.
