  • Does anyone know of a low very low carb protein shake? The protein shakes I have seen have very high carbs.

    Thanks!!
  • You could try the Atkins brand ones. I think Muscle Milk makes pre-made shakes and if I remember correctly they are pretty low-carb.

I prefer to make my own, using protein powder and unsweetened almond milk. But that's not a possibility if you're looking for convenience.
  • Atkins and EAS (beware, there's a not low carb EAS also) make good ones. My favorite is the Wild Berry day break atkins ones. Yummo. Usually they are 1-2 net carbs.
  • I have to also mention the Atkins shakes. They are really good ice cold and keep me full for 2 hours.
  • Pure protein. They come in pre made shakes or powder and are at walmart. Delicious and very low carb.
  • Atkins is the shake I have in the fridge.
  • How low do you want to go?.. I use GNC ProPerformance Whey Protein powder (nope, don't work for them)... 4 total grams carbs per scoop...

  • Vi-Shape is the one I choose.

    Cal: 90
    Fat: 1 g
    Protein: 12 g
    Sodium: 75 mg
    Carb: 7 g
    Fiber: 5 g
    Sugar: 1 g
  • Thanks for the suggestions. I am looking forward to trying a few of them.
  • I use Next Level Nutrition Lean Pro Matrix Vanilla Ice Cream Protein Powder. I get it at Nutrition Zone. It has 38g of protein and only 2 carbs. Amazing stuff!

Also, I discovered that 1 scoop of protein powder, three tbsp. egg whites, 2 tbsp water, & 3/4 tsp baking powder = a 160 calorie vanilla-flavored pancake with 38g of protein and only 2 carbs. Amazingly good with a sprinkle of Butter Buds and a douse of Walden Farms calorie-free pancake syrup.
  • HEY, I'm going to try that pancake recipe! Thanks for sharing.

You may have to adjust the total moisture content to get the right consistency depending on what brand of protein powder you use. Also you will probably need less baking powder if yours is very fresh. Mine is old. The pancake is very dry, but the Walden Farms pancake syrup is non-caloric, so I use it liberally and it moistens up the pancake just fine.
  • Thanks, I haven't tried it yet - we tried the fake french toast thing on another thread instead - it was awesome.
  • I really like the Jay Robb Whey protein. It comes in Pina Colada and Orange Dream flavors, mixes easily with water too. This is my fav instant breakfast so I use it at work almost every day.
  • Lambrada lean body for her, yummy too!! or PHD diet whey is good!
