Default Carb Cycling?

I am very new to LC. I am wondering what's the most carbs you can eat and still be low carb? I'm kinda scared of the side effects I'm going to feel when I start, tomorrow, but excited to see how this will affect my weight as well.

Also, has anyone carb cycled? If so, any luck?

I'm doing a high protein/low carb diet, (50% protein, 30% carb, 20% fat).
I eat protein with every meal(5), eat mostly fibrous carbs, no starchy carbs in PM.
I drink 60oz water minimum each day.

I'm carb-cycling, also known as zig-zagging... 3 days low carbs, 1 day higher carbs.
On the higher day I add carbs to increase my calories by 300-400.

I haven't been doing it all that long, but so far, so good.

If you have the proper balance of carbs, protein, and fat for your body, you should not have any side effects.

Use the calorie calculator at

After you fill out the first part of the form, Click advanced options, enter body fat % as 40 (based on your weight, height, age) and calculate to get your calories per day. Click the 7 day calorie cycle to see what they recommend.

Then you need to figure your macro-nutrient ratios at

I recommend selecting 5 meals a day (3 meals, 2 snacks) and low carb.

Be sure to drink at least 64 oz of water a day!

They calories may seem high, but give it a try for a couple weeks, then you can make adjustments if needed.
